I could not get past the second chapter of the first book. It was not written well and the things that happened were ridiculous. I cannot read books that are so far fetched unless they are sci-fi or fantasy. The cop friend can have his hands full and catch the girl from falling, dodge a bullet, and handcuff the bad guy to the rail? Really?

First of all, let me urge the reader not to judge this eBook by the first novella in its table of contents. In fact, you really won't miss anything of tremendous importance if you skip the story Jabez, by Joy Ohagwu, all together. In fact, you really won't miss anything of tremendous importance if you skip the story Jabez, by Joy Ohagwu, all together. I found it extremely "preachy," and tediously distracting with the main character's self-abasement and the constant switching from the present to the past. It just did not work at all for me. Once you get past that installment, however, the rest of this book gets quite interesting. The second story, Unplanned, by Alana Terry is better. It's still a bit awkward in some respects, but is a tale worth reading. It's about a young lady who's a missionary kid back in the United States to attend college. Despite her busy schedule, Kennedy volunteers to help a new crisis pregnancy center by answering their hotline after hours. She gets more than she bargains for, when she receives a call from a pregnant thirteen-year-old, who cuts the conversation short when her uncle comes within earshot. Kennedy probes for information and is shocked to learn the identity of the anonymous caller. Not only does someone want the girl's baby dead, but Kennedy's life is endangered, too, because she knows too much. The third tale, The Lady and the Mountain Man, by Misty M. Beller is better still. It's a historical novel about an orphaned heiress, Leah Townsend, who flees her privileged life in Richmond, Virginia, to escape death at the hands of a greedy fiance. She responds to an ad for a mail order bride in a St. Louis paper and travels for weeks by riverboat to Montana Territory, only to learn that the man who placed the ad had been mauled by a bear not long before. She is allowed to stay with the brother and sister of her intended and faces many challenges as she learns to adapt to a new life in the wilds of the mountains. Her life is almost ended when her location is discovered and unexpected rescuers come to her aid. Book four, Contingency, by Paula Wiseman, was a tough but compelling read. It involved the infidelity of a husband and how he and his wife rebuilt their trust and their marriage, once she found out about the affair. There were a lot of twists and turns, a lot of tears, and a lot of deep truths involved in this story. The author offered a free copy of the second eBook in her trilogy, Covenant of Trust, which I immediately devoured, as well. The fifth tale, Out of a Dream, by Rosemary Hines, involves the story of a young woman from a non-Christian background who delves into New Age teachings. Michelle's yoga instructor recommends a spiritual bookstore after her student tells her about her disturbing dreams. Meanwhile, Michelle's husband, an atheist, is introduced to the Gospel by an old classmate, and Michelle's atheist father goes on the lam when he's accused of embezzling. Her praying grandparents play a major role in covering the family with God's protection, until everything works out. The sixth story, True Love at Christmas, by Juliette Duncan is a rather unmemorable short story about family plans changed by an unexpected illness. A young man who has rejected God finds his way back, not only to his estranged family, but also to the Lord. Meanwhile sisters and their families come from the U.K. to Australia for a surprise visit that delights everyone. The seventh story, Stealthy Steps, by Vikki Kestell, is a suspenseful bit of sci-fi about a young lady caught up in a web of intrigue when she is invited by an eccentric scientist to assist in his research. Gemma Keyes identifies strongly with the fictitious invisible man, when Dr. Bickel's secret lab is discovered and his research project cloaks her in stealth technology. She eludes a nosy neighbor and a power-hungry general for weeks, meanwhile, developing a friendship with a hungry neighborhood boy and a former-gang-member-turned-preacher. The eighth and final tale is Callie, by Sharon Srock. It is also very good, involving a middle aged woman who is reluctantly led by the Lord to help a troubled little girl in her Sunday School class. Callie is still haunted by the death of a former patient at the clinic where she works and is afraid to interfere in another child's life. However, the Lord uses her, her husband and her friends to reunite a long-separated family and give two orphaned children a safe, stable home. This free eBook is a nice sampler of stories for those of us who like to try new authors, but don't want to spend money on something we may not like. Some of the tales were so-so, but a few were real gems. It's great to get such a nice variety in one place!

Red by Joy Ohagwu I loved the gripping introduction in the first few pages, to what proved to be a suspenseful mystery. Interesting premise; true-to-life in that there is surveillance everywhere. Cortexe Corp. is developing a predictive computer program which uses mathematical probability and logic to figure out if people are likely to commit a crime, so they can stop it before it happens. They also are involved in surveillance – from home systems, to corporate systems. This was a great buy and it introduced me to several authors that I hadn't read before. Not every book will be liked by everyone, but I would encourage you to look at each of the book blurbs first to consider whether the story may be something you would like, and please don't judge all the books by one or two that you may not particularly like. At least six of the eight book in this Anthology are seriously good stories. I reviewed each book separately so will not comment on any particular one bu This was a great buy and it introduced me to several authors that I hadn't read before. Anthology I enjoyed each author's story in this anthology. A couple I had already read. Most of these stories were the first in a series of books and I wanted to read all the books in each series after reading the one in here. The only reason I have this 4 rather than 5 is because I felt like it was a tease to get me to buy more books after getting into the first the lives of the characters. I don't like not knowing what happens next, but I don't have the money to buy all of them. Anthology I enjoyed each author's story in this anthology. A couple I had already read. A reading journey Love it love it love it, this was a really good read, all the stories were enjoyable, emotional, exciting, heart wrenching, happy and sad all at the same time. The common theme if love and forgiveness were there. More especially the love if God and how He has forgiven us, how He always make a way of escape no matter the situation. What a brilliant way to show the Father's love towards His children. Thank you all for sharing your God given talents with us. Some good, some ok Unfortunately, I’ve read 4 of the books included in this collection. One of the new to me books was really well written and a great story. 2 if already read were 5 star worthy as well. The others, though, were not on the same level. A great way to sample these authors and see who you’d like to read more of.

Good mix of authors. Sharon Srock needs to use ‘breaks’ between characters and plot thoughts. Had to re-read each time she switched because they were not clearly delineated. Otherwise, great story!

This is Collection of eight different Christian novels. Most are very good; however, many of them are book one of a series and you will need to buy the others in order to find out how the story ends. One of the books was rather futuristic and a little "out there". This is Collection of eight different Christian novels. Heart Warming I like the different ways the characters had to deal with their issues. It was a very uplifting read, because sometimes in the toughest situations when can lose faith and it may be difficult to regain. These are strong characters that I’d love to have as Friends.

I got bored and impatient with the first story. Bible verses didn't tie to the story. I just gave up, not worth my time. I got bored and impatient with the first story. Bible verses didn't tie to the story. I just gave up, not worth my time.

This an anthology of inspirational books. I enjoyed some more than others but it was a good read. RED by Joy Ohagwu- My take on this book: This is a book about Peter and Ruby, friends since childhood. The suspense keeps you going as they run from the New Rulebook. In the process, they find romance and Ruby finds The Lord. *** UNPLANNED by Alana Terry My take on this book: If you want a light, fluffy book, this isn't for you There was suspense from beginning to end. I loved the characters of Kennedy and Jodie and I felt their pain. This book brings the pro-life movement to the forefront. I think is a book that all young adults should read. Here we learn of God's love in times of need. Thank you for an insightful book. *** THE LADY AND THE MOUNTAIN MAN by Misty M. Beller My take on the book: Leah Townsend finds love in the Montana territory with God's help. *** CONTINGENCY By Paula Wiseman My take on the book: This is a very powerful book about a couple's journey to redemption and reconciliation after a husband"s This is a must read for Christian couples. *** TENDER LOVE by Juliette Duncan- My take on this book: This is a romance about second chances with God's help. *** OUT OF A DREAM by Rosemary Hines My take on this book: This is the story of Michelle, a young married woman searching for meaning in her life. She delves into the New Age Movement looking for answers to life. Her husband has found the Lord and tries to share his newfound faith. The attempted suicide of her father and the wise counsel of her Grandfather leads her to the Lord. The characters were well rounded and the storyline was profound. The subjects discussed in the book were thought provoking. I look forward to the next book in the series. *** STEALTHY STEPS by Vikki Kestell My take on this book: Gemma Keyes is an ordinary, unexceptional young woman with a lackluster life until an overheard conversation ends her budding career—and her loyalty to an old friend puts her very existence in jeopardy. This was an interesting book once I got past all the technical details. This is a young woman's journey of living a life of hurt into caring for others. This book is for those who love the Christian science fiction genre. *** CALLIE by Sharon Srock My take on this book. Callie(Women of Valley Book 1) by Sharon Srock is a wonderful book about family and following God's will in your life. This book can be read as a stand alone but introduces characters seen in other books. I love all of Sharon's books.
