MacBean is #30 in the series. Most can be read in any order, but read THE GATHERING first to avoid confusion. After Lilith went back inside, Alan found it hard to move. His first kiss. When the witch sent him here, he’d not even considered such a thing could happen. He’d just been gifted his first kiss ever. Well, he supposed his mother may have kissed him as a babe, but if so, he’d no memory of it. A broad smile split across his face, and he turned to walk around the corner… Alan MacBean, a centuries-old ghost turned temporarily mortal, is ousted from Culloden Moor, only to catch a little girl plummeting to her death. He’s never been around girls before, little or otherwise, and when he meets the girl’s mother, he’s stunned by the dark-haired beauty, and his entire world changes for the second time that day. Grandma’s Salem, Massachusetts home is about to be foreclosed upon and Lilith Clarke will do anything to save the historical monstrosity and keep it in the family, including accepting the help of the handsome Scottish warrior who just saved her daughter’s life. With a séance in the works, an ongoing treasure hunt, and a centuries old murder to solve, they have their hands full. She certainly likes the way Alan kisses, but can she let down her defenses, put her past behind her, and trust the handsome Highlander with her heart? Watch for SINCLAIR, up next! A True Treasure I am constantly impressed by this series! You would think after thirty books, that the authors would run out of stories to write, or that it would feel formulaic. That is not the case! I have especially loved Dianne Darcy's contributions, and MacBean was one of my favorites. This story takes place in Salem, MA where Lilith and her daughter, Olivia, live with her grandmother. They are about to lose their family home, but hold out hope of finding the lost family treasure. I loved the mystery in this story, and the seance cracked me up. MacBean was a great character, a strong silent type. He was shy, and I loved watching him find his confidence with Lilith. The romance was sweet, and well developed even with the time restraints of this plot. Whether you have been skipping around on this series, reading every single one, or are just discovering it now, MacBean is a must read! Content: clean (discussion about a child being born out of wedlock, kissing, mild violence-a fistfight of sorts) (view spoiler)[ The only thing I didn't like was in the epilogue. A punch to the face would have been sufficient. Without the other person fighting back, it felt like he went too far. (hide spoiler)]

This is book 30 in the series. You will want to read the first short story, The Gathering, for the background information on the Muir witch before you start the rest of the series. After that, each one can be read as a standalone. I continue to be impressed with this series. I loved MacBean’s story. Sweet, shy Alan has never felt real love and the only family he has known was his fellow ghosties 👻 on Culloden Moor. He longs to stay and see his 79 brothers find their way off the Moor. Another amazing book bet Diane! I absolutely adored this book! Alan was everything a man should be, with a cute, shy softer side. He has strength and honor as well as dedication. I want him for myself! I can relate with the hardships of a single young mother right along with Lilith. Olivia and grandma were also just to adorable. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I cheered. Great job Diane!

One of my favorites Although I enjoyed every book in the series, this one is definitely one of my favorites. I loved the characters so much and the author created a very magical, beautiful world, rich in history, mystery, and unique characters. Absolutely fell in love with Alan. I enjoyed the humor in this book as well. Excellent writing Miss Darcy.

A Broken Heart and a Buried Treasure MacBean is such a great story - superb mystery of lost and found and treasure all over the place. In Salem where things go bump in the night there is a place called Herrick House (if only in a dream) where treasure and love are always found.

Great I love this author's writing. Her characters just jump off the page. This also had a love between Alan and Lilith that surprised the characters but at least Alan proposed and Lilith accepted prior to finding the treasure. Great I love this author's writing. Ghosts and more ghosts MacBean #53 is called to perform his good deed and has a chance to save a girl right away. That starts his 2 days, but isn't the only deed.
