In the sequel to Morning My Angel, this time the hunters become the hunted... Somebody has it in for The Agency and there is nobody to trust, not even people from within the company.... Josh, now working for the agency, and his lover Cal, former agent and now hired as an outsider with insider information to investigate the alarmingly high number of dead agents, have their hands full with finding a killer, preventing him from striking again and staying alive in doing so, while at the same time still working on their relationship. All of that without the tiniest bit of a clue what could be the reason for the attacks, much less who is behind it and still without any decision about their future, even if it is obvious that they are made for each other. Where I had my issues with the first book regarding Josh being an arrogant prick most of the time and a plot twist, this sequel was one I really loved. Josh could still be a diva sometimes, but I could virtually see the author writing this with a twinkle in her eye and he was totally adorable this time. As to adorable... actually, they both were, Cal and Josh. I just loved how they could count on each other to have their back, how they comforted each other and their love for each other simply oozed from the pages. Although the main focus lay on the mystery part, there were lots of tender and hot (yes, there is still time for this!) moments between both men... There was also lots of dry British humor in this book which made me laugh quite often... "We make a habit of getting blown up." This was the second time, after last year's car bomb. He hoped these things didn't run in threes. Not to forget all the movie references that made me beam like a kid in front of the Christmas tree whenever I recognized one... She looked up as he walked in. At least she didn't do the power bullshit by pretending to ignoring him. "Mr. Ross. I've been expecting you." All she needed was the white cat. The whole thing steered straight in the direction of being a solid 5-star-read, but then came the ending... ... which made me want to bite into my precious Kindle. Yep, you guessed right: cliffhanger! In case I didn't make myself clear: I hate cliffhanger!!! The next book is bound to come out this fall and I hope it will be sooner rather than later because I am not known to be a very patient person. ;-)

Cal and Josh are still coming to grips with how to be boyfriends and there's plenty of emotional encounters and sexy times to demonstrate they're over the moon in love. The spy element this time is internal betrayal and it is gripping, people's loved ones are being killed or attempts made on their lives, including Cal and Josh, and Jessie is at the heart of the connections. So yeah, it irritated me to be left on a line promising to out the identity of the true villain of the piece and now I'm at the tempted to cut my nose off to spite my face stage over reading book three. As it's KU, I probably will still read it but I'll be muttering under my breath!

I really enjoyed this one though I was a bit disappointed that the story finished with a cliff hanger concerning the suspense part of the story. There is still A LOT for us to discover (about his past) but I actually really liked how we got to know both Cal and Josh a little at a time as their relationship builds up around the suspense. If you haven't read the first one please don't continue reading this review (to prevent reading of spoilers) or rather, go ahead and grab the first one - it's AMAZING. We start this story with Cal aka Charlie aka Callum David Ross POV which remains for most of the book, His love for his Angel aka Josh Cooper makes him realize there is only one solution to his and Josh's situation and it's for him to pack his bags and go to Josh before it's too late. It's one thing to accept they can't work together at CDR, but it's surely unreasonably to stay in the US when Josh has moved to the UK. His decision becomes instant when there is an attempt on Josh's life. While Josh is working at The Agency, Cal is mostly off the loop until the head of The Agency recruits him, or rather, pays his newly found company - Angel Enterprises to help solve the immediate treat to The Agency. Operatives and their spouses are being targeted and with each day it becomes more complicated and also hits too close... Cal tries using his uncle - Sir Gideon for help but he is somehow reluctant to help even though he plays nice as if he is doing his best. But actually he is targeted as well. Pretty frightening! Also it's quite obvious it has to be someone from the inside. Both Josh and Cal had enough of that with one of Josh's bodyguards in the previous book who turned against everyone, including his twin brother. There is much that happens in this one yet the romance is still front and center. Josh and Cal loves each other that's for sure but they still need to keep on getting to know one another. I really appreciate the way their romance unfolds. Though this is romantic suspense and both Josh and Cal are 'menly men' they are also emotional and simply adorable towards one another. Everyone has it inside of them, and I love the fact both act upon their emotions and SAY what they have to say and even shed a tear when the moment is 'right'. Everything about these two feels genuine to me which I absolutely adore about this book and series. I truly wish we got a full stop at the end of this one, yet we don't. A 'bomb' is being dropped and all we can do is sit around and wait for the next one. I should say it says Autumn 2017 so it MIGHT be around the corner yet I still haven't seen any details about it. Both 'Goodnight My Angel' and this one are HIGHLY Recommended DED but MUST be read in order. More Reviews HERE

In the second installment of Angel Enterprises, there’s someone who infiltrated the agency and started killing those related to it. The downside is, I kind of missed the Josh I fell in love with in Morning My Angel. Don’t get me wrong tho, it’s still a wonderful read but somehow, It felt like it focuses more on the mystery and the romance aspect became a side story. I thought the mystery of the killer and the “mole” within the agency was cleverly narrated (hidden) until the last chapter but I wished there was less casualty because there were some very interesting characters right there. At some point, I didn’t know whose POV it was that I was reading but it didn’t matter much because it simply revolves around the main focus of the story which is the murder of those related within the agency. This is still a pretty solid follow up to Sue Brown’s Morning My Angel. The cliffie at the end was real good. I’m really excited to read more from this series! I just hope that the next installment would include more of Josh and Cal’s interaction than their interaction with the side characters. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Really, I need to quit whining because I loved this book like I loved the first book, and I look forward to the obvious next book. I just REALLY need Sue Brown to publish it with a quicker window between stories this time! Haha! Brown’s writing has a certain quirky sense of humor and her characters are generally flawed but inherently intriguing. Her foray into the world of espionage and intrigue is spot-on and a pleasure to read, just as her romances are. It does seem sometimes that Brown gets lost in the detective storyline and then throws a bone to us romantics who want to see Josh and Cal succeed as a couple. It also smacks of James Bond a time or two, but since I happen to love James Bond, I found the references amusing and they made me smile. “She looked up as he walked in. At least she didn’t do the power bullshit by pretending to ignore him. ‘Mr. Ross. I’ve been expecting you.’ All she needed was the white cat.” Morning My Angel left Josh and Cal together as a couple, but separated by continents. I appreciated the flashback this book begins with, as it goes back and reestablishes our MCs and gives us insight into why these men made the decisions they made. You do not have to have read the first novel before reading this one, but I would recommend it as there are lots of references, jokes, innuendos that appear throughout the story, which are carryovers from book one. So, you don’t have to read book one but it would definitely enhance your enjoyment of this story when those little cookies are dropped and you can recognize them. Plus, this mystery all began in book one. Josh now works for “the agency”. It is a private undercover consulting firm that does security and other odd jobs the government would rather not have its name attached to. This is the same firm that recruited Cal out of college, and that almost got him killed on assignment while working in Columbia—a firm started by Cal’s uncle and one which he was finally able to break free from. So, why does Josh work for them now? Well, that’s book one in the series. Goodnight My Angel begins with Josh and Cal trying to make their relationship work, and realizing that big changes will have to be made in their lives if they are going to move forward together. Then, people associated with the agency start dying. Bodies start to add up and we get hints that there is a higher power, a mastermind behind all the killings, but just who that is remains a mystery until almost the last page. Friends are suspect, colleagues are suspect, and even family members are questioned. And people keep dying. What ties these victims together? What is the purpose behind the killings, what does the puppetmaster hope to accomplish, and, more important, for how long has this been going on and nobody saw the pattern? Slowly this puzzle starts to unravel, and the answer has been years in the making. Obviously, when you do the things the agency does, you make a lot of enemies and affect a lot of people’s lives. Cal and Josh’s struggle to grow closer together is made difficult when they are constantly being pulled into agency business, being shot at, blown up, or even run over can take the place of your personal life – especially when it is your job to discover who is behind it all. The romantic in me appreciated the warmth between our main characters, the way Josh constantly took care of Cal, and the fierceness with which Cal loves Josh. Every time they used the pet names Charlie and My Angel when speaking to each other, my heart warmed to these characters all over again. We needed these moments of closeness to happen between these two men, these snippets of alone time on the page, because both of these men are alpha independent individuals. I almost wished there was a moment of computer dialogue reminiscent of book one, but that’s my nostalgia talking. The groundwork of their relationship is established in book one with the Charlie’s Angels references, and it was endearing to have them continue on into this storyline. A HEA is hinted at in this installment with declarations of love and talk of little black boxes. Cal tells Josh often that he will ask, and Josh retorts with he will say yes. But agency business is still coming first for them, and I really hope book three is a love story between these two men. I need some good, solid page time of just Josh and Cal, without all the extraneous outside influences. Yes, there are still questions hanging out there from this convoluted but intriguing storyline, which will have to be wrapped up in the next book, but I am looking forward to seeing just what Sue Brown will cook up for these two next, and the surprises she obviously has in store for us as readers. I highly recommend book one and book two in this series, and yeah, I am really looking forward to book three. Reviewed by Carrie for The Novel Approach Reviews

Ms. Brown, did you really hold out on the bad guy reveal at THE VERY LAST MOMENT??? OK, rant over! It has been 6 months since I read book one, Morning My Angel, and since I was so careful in my review of that book not to give any spoilers, I had to go back and reread it instead of just reading the blurb or my review. Why? Because this book jumped right into the problems between Josh Cooper – now working for the Agency instead of CDR – and Callum Ross – now working for CDR instead of the Agency. Eh, all these spooks and their bosses were running together in my mind anyway, so I just let that one go. In this series, it really seems to be a very incestuous group. I thought at the end of book one that Josh and Callum were together, but apparently I was a bit premature – they kept their relationship mainly in the cyber arena for 6 months between books one and two, and in this one they are almost starting over. OK, so I really didn't get the purpose of that, but maybe I'll figure out why that was important in the next book. Really, the entire first chapter was a bit of a question mark for me, I am still not sure how it related to the overall plot, but I have a feeling the relevance of that bit of story will become clear in the next book. Anyway, this time Callum has decided that he is absolutely going to be with Josh, one way or another, so he leaves Seattle to move to London, where Josh is currently working a variety of cases for the Agency, and as usual, loving his work. Moving their relationship into the day to day world isn't easy for these two alpha males who live for the job, and a lot of the tension comes from the two of them learning how to prioritize differently now that they are a couple, and learning to be more open and honest with each other. When your career is keeping secrets as an undercover operative, it's hard to change. Making it harder is the fact that employees of the Agency, and their family members, are being murdered left and right, seemingly at random, so Josh and Callum once again team up to discover who the bad guy is and stop him. All of the characters from book one are back, as well as the enigmatic “She” who runs the Agency. Secrets continue to abound, and like their previous case, no one is willing to show all their cards, even to the investigators. (I figured out who the bad guy was before Josh and Callum did, but the secret identity was NOT revealed, and I'm not sure about that yet, though I have my theories). The action wasn't as fast paced as it was in book one, because there was as much focus on the relationship between Josh and Callum as there was on the case, and those portions of the book were slower. The focus also shifted from Josh to Callum as the main protagonist. Callum may be more complicated, but I personally found Josh more interesting (and certainly more fun). Josh' personality was a little different in this book – maybe because it's a different point of view, maybe because he is finally maturing – and I missed the old Josh. I will definitely read the next in the series, despite the cliffhanger ending. I still want to unravel all the threads that are connecting these two outfits, and I want to see Josh and Callum grow as a couple now that they've committed. I will just have to have faith that all of the loose ends will be connected, and all of the mysteries revealed, and that all the secondary characters I've come to like will still be alive.

After the first book I jumped straight into this one and it’s gone from HFN to cliffhanger. I should’ve waited for the next one. The ending just left me feeling meh. Josh and Cal are reunited with the body count quickly rising and everyone is both a victim and a suspect. I liked how their relationship is going. In the first book it was difficult to see what Cal was like beyond the fact he wanted Josh. Now with his POV nothing much has really changed. Cal lives for Josh and work. More violent than the first, sex, romance, coffee love and cat hatred. Guessed the culprit in this one.

I noticed when I finished book 1that there was a book 2, also listed on Kindle Unlimited. I liked book 1 fine, it was 10 in the evening, and I was already in bed so I just downloaded it and continued onto book 2 thinking it would be a simple mystery and then I’d be done with the series. Imagine my surprise when I woke up the next morning and finished it to find: “to be continued” with a huge cliffhager ending. Now honestly, I’m kind of pissed, especially the end of the book said book 3 was going I noticed when I finished book 1that there was a book 2, also listed on Kindle Unlimited. Oh....my....WHAT KIND OF CLIFFHANGER WAS THIS? Someone or someones are after “the agency” family in this one. It doesn’t seem like anyone is safe and as people drop like flies they have to find who is behind it all. There are moles everywhere and when we finally get an idea of who is the culprit it’s an alias! Who are they? What is their real name? And why are they doing this? Where’s the 3rd book? I need answers! I need an HEA! Ahhhhh!

I really enjoyed this book, much more than a three star rating. However, I didn't realise it ended on a major cliff hanger, not until the end (I didn't read any reviews beforehand). I really hope that this series gets continued as I love these boys and want to know the who, what and why of it all. If it does, I'll be snapping it up immediately! Hate cliffhangers. Good story, confusing at times. There are always elements of confusion, it seems as if the story gets away from the author sometimes. I truly dislike cliffhangers, I wouldn't have started this series of I knew there was one. Frustrating. Hate cliffhangers. Good story, confusing at times. Could have been a good 5 * if not for that damned ending !!! Poor Cal and Josh getting involved with someone crazy who keeps killing off all their co-workers and spouses. A really riviting read which had me close to tears by the (damned) end.

Ugh I loved the book and the storyline but really, really hated the cliffhanger ending. This book is a sequel to the first and that's okay because the first book had an ending, the bad guy was caught. This book leaves you hanging and I am not a fan of cliffhangers.
