This was barely okay for me. Too much angst on Taylor’s part over all lawmen being cheaters and the fact that her best friend was the girl Taylor’s new love-interest went with in high school and she didn’t want to lose her best friend over it. Really? Some of this book was just kind of silly. She couldn’t forgive Ryan a drunken indiscretion when he was 17 or 18? WTF? I did like all the players, Taylor, Ryan, Meghan and Kelsey but the story was too simple. Nothing was really going on, except Ryan This was barely okay for me. Up until the very end. Until Taylor was reminded that she wasn’t perfect so how could she expect Ryan to be? Especially when he was a teenager. Like I said, it was silly. And the worst thing about this novella? When I got stuck on one word and kept staring at it and wondering what the author was thinking, FOUR times. The funny thing is she used the words cock and dick and rod and manhood. Why in the world would any author use the word “penis” in a sexual situation? That’s a word you use with your doctor. I think I'll pass on any more from this series. I don't think I could read about another "penis."

This story made me laugh through out reading this it. This is the first book of the series and it a fantastic start. You will adore Sylvia McDaniel characters and their development is amazing, one could close ones eyes be a part of the story. The story is fantastic and entertaining. The characters are fun and witty. I love when the heroine is confident within herself. The story features three girlfriends, Taylor, Meghan and Kelsey who after college started a career but for one reason or another decided to return to their hometown of Cupid Texas. They meet for a girls night out on the town, so after drinking far to much wine they start to discuss why they don't have a man in their lives. As the discuss takes place Kelsey bring up the old Cupid Superstition about dancing around the Cupid statue naked has gotten all the cheerleaders that danced around the statue married and holding babies in their arms. This is where the humor starts and don't stop. The ladies decides it's time to have some fun so they grab one more bottle of wine for courage and off to the statue they go. As they are dancing the sheriff shows up and they run off without their clothes in different directions. This is Taylor and Ryan's story. The sheriff catches Taylor, she try's to hide her lady parts as she moves around trying to get warm the sheriff decides to her even though he rather keep looking. Taylor like a lot of us, has some confidence issues after she found her fiancé cheating on her. She is working on believing in herself again but she don't trust lawmen. But as the old saying says There is nothing better for the old self esteem than to have sex on legs, otherwise known as Sheriff Ryan chasing after you. The chemistry between Ryan and Taylor is white hot! Ryan seems damn near perfect so far. The romantic in me sure hopes he stays that way. Taylor deserves a happy ending, but that’s somewhere off in the future. For now Taylor is unsure of Ryan because she doesn't know how or why Ryan broke her friend Kelsey's heart so just trying to get to the first official date, which is no small feat when you throw in a ex-girlfriend, a broken heart, and a secret Ryan has, however, he will not be deterred. You will absolutely love this book! It is quirky, romantic, intriguing, surprising, and of course sexy! This first story in the series chronicles their hilarious meeting and road to their romance, which is nothing short of outrageous.

Cupid Stupid Funny and romantic. Taylor is back in Cupid and trying to heal from a cheating fiance. While on a girls night out they decide to do something most did in high school. Sheriff Ryan was used to calls about what he called Cupid Stupid. He just never thought he would see Taylor.

CUPID STUPID is the first book in the Return to Cupid, TX series. While each book does focus on a different couple, it is still best to read them in the order of release. From beginning to end, I enjoyed reading this story as three best friends decide that it’s never too late in life to test the superstition that most of their classmates tried out when they were still teenagers. From beginning to end, I enjoyed reading this story as three best friends decide that it’s never too late in life to test the superstition that most of their classmates tried out when they were still teenagers. Taylor, Meghan, and Kelsey had me in stitches from Galentine drinks to dancing around the Cupid statue in the middle of town (naked, mind you), to figuring out what to do about the fallout of that dancing. This is Taylor’s story, along with the Sheriff, Ryan, who caught her while her friends took off in other directions. Where I most associated with Taylor was in the lack of confidence. After rejections, it’s hard to believe that another man will see something good where one has belittled and shamed. Allowing chemistry to lead the way is a good start. Communication is the rest of the formula for a positive new relationship. My only complaint is the ending. I thought I had hit the jackpot and we were going to find out about another couple. Instead it was a teaser leading to the next book. Yes, I’m whining! I don’t have the next book! Of course, I’m looking forward to getting it and reading more of the results of that little rascal Cupid’s magic. Note: while I was given this book as a gift, my opinions are my own and are given freely. Ryan was not completely honest with Taylor Taylor was not honest with her friends. I have lived in small town Texas, and I must say, keeping any kind of large secret has about the same chance as everyone giving up football in Texas. The entire thing seems to move very quickly. She keeps saying they can't do this and then they do this. I wanted to like this book a ton. I understood the characters. Ms McDaniel develops them quite well. All the back stories are well done. But, basically I simply did not care much about anyone. I am sure it is just me, but it just didn't enchant me.

While Taylor didn't want anything to do with men ever again, after finding her ex in bed with another woman, she went along with her friends' plan. They were having a great time until the sheriff came along. Megan and Kelsey ran off (without clothes) but Taylor was caught. I really liked this cute story with its incredible characters. Ryan was a great guy, who had had a crush on Taylor in their youth, and hoped he would now have a chance to act on his feeling for her. But while Taylor was also interested in Ryan, she had decided that all lawmen were cheaters, like her ex who was a lawman. On top of that, Ryan had dated her best friend, Kelsey, in high school, so she thought she shouldn't date her friend's ex. Taylor and Ryan definitely have chemistry but will they be able to overcome the issues keeping them apart? This sweet romance is not only funny but has some dramatic and sexy moments, too. It's a great read.

Ryan is interested in dating Taylor, but knows she is reluctant to get into an new relationship especially with someone in law enforcement. Taylor wants to be with Ryan, but is afraid of what her friend Kelsey, Ryan’s ex, will think about her dating him. Also, what is the mystery surrounding why they broke up so suddenly in high school? Taylor finds that sometimes to be happy in life you have to take chances, forgive, and just keep moving forward. It was slow getting started, but it builds a good foundation for the story and the series. A good HEA ending. I was given a free ARC of this book for an honest book review. My rating is 4 stars.

It All Began With A Dance I had no idea Sylvia McDaniel was such a great author. She is really talented. I love Cupid Stupid! It's so much fun to read, I adore the characters, especially Jack! Instead of taking Taylor to jail, the sheriff, Ryan (ex-HS boyfriend of Taylor's best friend) takes her home with a warning. To thank Ryan, Taylor invites him to dinner. It becomes obvious to them that there is a mutual attraction and Ryan is all for pursuing it but Taylor has been badly burned in a semi-recent past relationship and also hesitates because Ryan's HS relationship with Taylor's bff, ended very badly. Can Ryan convince Taylor to give him a chance? If Taylor finds out why Ryan and her bff, split up will she be able to forgive him? And how would her friends react to her seeing Ryan?

He justifies it, not apologizes, and she accepts him back way too easily. Lying is lying!

While the others scurry into the night it’s Taylor who he apprehended. My favorite part of the story were the conversations between widower Jack and Taylor at the restaurant. The friendship between the three young women is a strong one. After a bit of angst and a little self enlightenment there is a HEA. I wished Taylor had talked a bit to Ryan about what’s going on with her parents. That has to be stressful and heartbreaking and yet it was just thrown out there and nothing. Otherwise it’s a cute read.

However, there is so much second guessing by Taylor about the future of a relationship that she was clearly enjoying that the story eventually seemed a little too wishy washy for me. I couldn't stand the main characters in this story. All of the characters are supposed to be in their twenties but their maturity levels and the way they act is like reading about 18 year old children. It was awful! The entire "relationship" (although booty call better defines all Ryan & Taylor shared) should have been cut off from the beginning. Taylor knew Ryan was one of her BFF's former boyfriends; game over right there. This book was OK. It was a very fast read with some decent characters. The writing is ok. I am not sure what exactly it was, but I felt like I was reading a high school paper. This was a cute story. I loved the idea that if you dance naked in front of the statue at midnight it will bring you true love. The story was fast paced and had some funny parts. I will admit to having a hard time liking Taylor though. She just got on my nerves a bit. Other than that, it was a good book.

This is a short book and an easy read, so if that's your thing, you should go for it. But, fair warning, I laughed right out loud when they were in bed and she said, "Take me now!" and he actually responded "Gladly."
