What a great series! Yes this is a written soap opera, but the subject matter, the characters, and the darkly-described vision of the future make it compelling and impossible to put down. The author does a great job of capturing human nature and establishing the difficulty of making black and white decisions in a world of changing shades of gray. The individual episodes have the necessary cliff-hanger features and seeds of new issues to make each new book heavily in demand. I recommend buying th What a great series! The Uber gangster Vasili turns out to be the mostly good bad guy - everyone else is pretty bad to horrible. And has a slightly weird Freudian combat between two of the mob soldiers who were once blood brothers.....

Absolutely stunning from start to finish. Can't wait for series two to be complete and released as another omnibus edition. Absolutely stunning from start to finish. Can't wait for series two to be complete and released as another omnibus edition.
