JWM: Sure…and then I'll send over a hit squad. Seriously, I'll be sprinkling in a few clues along the way for those who pay close attention to the details, but it will all come together in that final six novels of the Redemption Thriller Series. And it will be explosive and gut-wrenching at the same time. Q: How many different sub-series are you planning to have in the Redemption Thriller Series? JWM: Right now, I see four sub-series in the Redemption Thriller Series, with six novels in each. It's the most challenging and fulfilling creative endeavor I've undertaken. I hope you enjoy the journey.

Ivy finds not everything, nor everyone is what it seems as the pages reveal what secrets are within. I believe this book to be readable as a standalone but is most definitely best read in sequence as it gives more of the backstories to the characters. This book moves at even faster paces than it's predecessors. There are so many details and storylines to follow and resolutions to work through. It was masterfully done and ended with enough of an edge to make me anticipate the next book! For those with sensitive tastes, there is violence and language, mention of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault.

IN Doubt is the 3rd book in the Ivy Nash series. It can be read as a standalone book, but reading books 1 & 2 can provide some background info on each of the characters. Ivy continues to deal with (and will probably have to for a long time) repercussions of being abducted and tortured (twice) by the same sick and deranged man that she has known since her foster home days as a young teen. He is obsessed with her, and stalks her both physically and virtually by hidden cameras set up where she think IN Doubt is the 3rd book in the Ivy Nash series. Cristina is also dealing with the demons of her past, except this time one of those demons shows up to terrorize her in the present … then ends up dead. Guess who gets arrested … Moreover, ECHO is hired to care for the young daughter of a high profile, billionaire client who isn’t exactly who he seems to be. John Mefford manages to weave all of these character’s stories together seamlessly. He is a gifted story teller. As I’ve said before, if you like reading thrillers, read this book. If you like reading series, read this book. If you like reading stories with strong, inspiring women as the main character, read this book. As you have probably guessed by now, I loved this book and highly recommend it. 5 STARS and 2 Thumbs Up … I can’t wait to read the next book in this series :)

Mr. Mefford has a way of drawing his readers into the story and making you feel like you are a part of it. He writes seamlessly jumping between characters without hesitation. The drama is told with confidence and is very descriptive. It is just like watching a movie. The characters display a wide range of behaviour from good to bad, from manipulative to abusive and they have to deals with all sorts of situations. This plot is on the dark side, complex and has multiple threads that slowly builds tension till we reach the thrilling climax. If you need a break and enjoy being entertained without the need of a dictionary Mr. Mefford provides clear and concise phrases in all his mysteries. The story moves at a steady pace and at times gives you the shivers but it is not as thrilling as in the Alex Trout series. “In Doubt” is good but it is not my preferred in this series having said this I still was a pleasure to read. Next book to read “Break In” book #4

Ivy Nash is tough as nails. But even she needs a shoulder to lean on sometimes. Evil often hides itself plain sight. Ivy has made it her life's work to ferret it out. This does not always make for a life of rainbows and butterflies. In this installment of the series, Ivy has the job of protecting a young girl when her world is crumbling apart. I really enjoyed how detailed this novel was. I was able to clearly see the events as they were occurring. I thought I had figured out exactly who the bad Ivy Nash is tough as nails. John W. Mefford has created a world in which I desperately want Ivy Nash to rule. She has a heart of gold and enough grit to make the world bend to her desires. As in any good serial novel, you don't necessarily "need" to have read the others, but they do help to build a strong background for Ivy and her ECHO team.

John W Mefford is so talented penning thrillers that each novel leaves you looking forward to reading more of his work. He is most definitely one of my favourite authors. Ivy Nash has a strong personality and her character is so well-developed you feel like you are in the novel working along with her. The story is full of suspense, twists, and keeps you reading until you realize you’ve finished the book, longing for the next.

I was lucky enough to get my copy of In Doubt pretty quickly after I finished In Pursuit (Book 2 of the Ivy Nash Series) and immediately jumped into another story with Ivy, Christina, Zahara and Stan! While Ivy did still have her issues in In Doubt, I enjoyed reading about some issues that Christina had. I liked how the book wasn't all in Ivy's point of view this time around. We got to hear what Christina was feeling, from her perspective about meeting her mom. Reading about what happened to her after she figured it out, I just couldn't believe she was going to get away with it, and when she was arrested, I thought it was the right thing to be happening. Boy was I wrong in the end! I definitely did NOT expect that little turn of events! I also enjoyed getting to meet Christina's mom at first. While In Doubt did cover some troubles that Christina went through, Ivy did have her own troubles in the book also. This has to be a record for her, I've read all 3 of the Ivy Nash books, and she has been kidnapped in all 3 of them. She has to have some of the worst luck! All in all - AMAZING BOOK - I give it *****

That is until Christina gives her a shake and gets her on a job looking after a little girl called Emma who they had saved a few weeks prior from her mother who was trying to sell her at a truck stop – who does that!?  This is not a simple babysitting stint for Ivy and Christina and with the help of Stan and his cousin Nick from the FBI they untangle a massive web of lies, deceit and depravity surrounding Emma’s father Dillon.   At the same time Christina is dealing with ghosts from her past that lead her to being accused of murder – this really tests the bonds of friendship between her and Ivy, who has a shadow of doubt regarding Christina’s innocence. IN Doubt is a little more subdued book compared to the previous books killings but it was still every bit a fantastic gripping read.   Book 4 can’t come quick enough!

Some say each book can be read as a stand-alone. However, I believe its best if they are read in order, as this will allow readers to better understand the flow of events relating to Ivy’s past. The series follows the work of Ivy Nash, a former employee of Child Protective Services. Tired of seeing injustice meted out to children and the failure by CPS to help them, she formed her own business to provide help without having to deal with unnecessary red tape. Being a victim of the same injustice, she carries out her job with zeal and does everything within her power to help those who cannot help themselves.Ivy has tried to move past her past and to forget the pain that comes with it, however after a recent terrifying experience she discovered that moving on would not be that easy. At the beginning of this instalment, she is trying to come to terms with her recent kidnapping. The memories still haunt her and she knows danger still lurks waiting for that moment to pounce. However, instead of allowing fear to control her she continues to do what she does best, especially now that Emma, (a four-year-old who she rescued) and her protégé Christina needs her expertise.Emma’s dad faced charges of sexual assault of a minor. He hires Ivy and Christina to protect her at all costs while he dealt with his legal issue. Ivy had her suspicions about the assault charges and began her own investigation. In the midst of this, her friend and protégé Christina became the focus of a murder investigation. Both cases stir up the painful memories she tries to put behind her, but she did not let it prevent from helping Emma and Christina. In her quest to help them, she would discover that all is not what it seems to be.I went into this story expecting an exciting read, and the author did not disappoint. IN Doubt was fast paced, suspenseful, thrilling and emotional. There was so much going in this story, which kept me on my toes at every page turn. Then there were the twists I never expected although I had my suspicions. I guess I was hoping I would be wrong, so it kind of crept up on me. The story touched on the sensitive topics of child abuse, sexual abuse, and drug abuse and child prostitution. The cast of characters was delightful as usual. I enjoyed the camaraderie between Ivy and her friends. I loved how they always had each other’s back, which the story highlighted when Christina needed help. Ivy proves to be not only a kick ass heroine but also one who is selfless. She faces danger with every secret she unfolds, but she refuses to give up because the lives of those she cares about were at risk. The ending left me wanting more. No, the story did not end in a cliff-hanger. The cases were adequately tied up and all questions answered. However, there was a hint of danger at hand for Ivy, which left eagerly anticipating the next instalment. If you have not started this series and you enjoy mysteries and thrillers, then you need to pick up these books. I highly recommend them. View all my reviews

This is the third book in the Ivy Nash Thriller series that I have had the pleasure to read and review on this blog. She's strong, she's a protector of those who are unable to protect themselves and she's fierce while doing so. She's also broken and complex and seems like a real live human, as do all the main characters in this series. I'm so in love with the the author's ability to make fictional characters seem so real. In the previous two books, there were two main storylines going on at the same time, which made the stories feel fast-paced and interesting. Mr. Mefford hasn't changed his unique ability to intertwine and interweave two major storylines in one book, without causing confusion on the part of the reader. He does this brilliantly in this third book in the series. In this book, we get to learn more about Cristina's back story, as a monster from her past comes back into her life. We learn the real truth as to why she ran away and was living on the streets. What happens to her is truly frightening. I can't say too much about this situation because I don't want to give any spoilers. I just know that this slow unfolding of each character's background just make them more complex and interesting. Not only does he intertwine two mysteries into this book, but there is an element of suspense running through the background of the story. You're never quite sure if Ivy's kidnapper from the previous book is going to make an appearance. It adds a quality to the story that I find difficult to describe but it's there. I find this very satisfying and think it gives the book more interest. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I've truly come to love the characters and want to know more about them and more about what happens to them. I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

Ivy faces a dark past that haunts her on a daily basis - every so often making a jab at her just as life seems to be falling back into order. Naturally, Ivy puts her own fears on the back burner when her coworker is faced with her own past demons. Cristina is facing murder charges. When the evidence is stacked up against someone, even a friend, it's difficult not to question their involvement. On top of Cristina's troubles, Ivy is trying to settle the home life of 4-year-old Emma. The poor girl has to deal with her mother being in rehab and her father being accused of sexual assault charges against a minor - all while being rich and of a privilege lifestyle that is aimed at making the father smell like roses. With all of her focus placed on others, Ivy doesn't have much time to think about a personal life. It's all but dissolved into nothing beyond her work thanks to her past. A previous love could ignite back into flames...if Ivy can open her heart again. All of the characters continue to be well-written - Ivy being my favorite, of course. She faces some of the most horrendous situations and experiences some dark thoughts (depression) but has an amazing source of strength that makes her a strong woman. Stronger than she realizes! I can't wait to see where book four takes Ivy -- is it going to be her breaking point? How much more can one woman take?! I received this book through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

This was my first Ivy Nash thriller and, after Booker and Alex Troutt I wondered if I would be equally impressed by another Mefford detective but he's done it again. Where John gets his energy for writing from, I have no idea but In Doubt fizzes off the page with characters drawn with his usual realism and a villain (or two) that you really want to see behind bars. Ivy and her partner, Cristina are younger than his previous main characters and the fact that Ivy is not (yet at any rate) working as part of the police adds interest. As Ivy works to protect the adorable Emma she is trying to unravel her conflicting feelings for the little girl's billionaire father whilst fighting off a shadowy figure who is out to get her. Every time you think you have things worked out, Mefford throws another spanner into the works until the story builds to a great conclusion. The supporting characters such as Stan, Zeke and Pudge are all described so thoroughly that you can visualise them. As another reviewer has said, you could easily believe you were watching a movie. This is a thriller in which the reader's perception of each suspect shifts constantly - leaving you very much in doubt - until the very end. High recommended. I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Wow John Mefford really delivers in this suspenseful action packed adventure following our favorite character Ivy Nash. I was sitting on the edge of my seat through the entire book. ECHO is hired to protect and babysit a kid whose dad has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor and Ivy finds herself conflicted as she doesn't know if he is guilty or innocent of these charges. And as if that is not enough, we find Cristina in a legal battle with Ivy as well. During all this action and excitement, Ivy is faced with the opportunity to renew a relationship with an old flame, Saul, but can she put herself out there again? This is one book you don't want to miss and even if you have not read the previous 2 Ivy Nash adventures, you will thoroughly enjoy this one. But buckle up because you are about to take one bumpy ride.

I am a big fan of John Mefford's writing, but I have to admit that I didn't really warm to the Ivy Nash series, as much as I did to his previous books, and in particular his Alex Troutt series, which is connected to this series, and I really enjoyed. The characters in this book are (chillingly) all too real and believable, and display a wide range of human behaviour from good, kind people to evil, manipulative and abusive ones. The story line of this book is definitely towards the dark end of the spectrum, and deals with some very unpleasant aspects of the human condition. But, as always with this author, the quality of the writing is outstanding, the plot is complex, with multiple threads and builds throughout to a thrilling climax, I also love the dilemmas that the characters face, which all leads to a truly enthralling read. I have voluntarily written this review from a complimentary copy of the book.

IN Doubt is a great read. While this book is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, as is the case with most of John W Mefford's series books. This particular book had a crossover from the Alex Trout series in that Alex's partner Nick appears as Ivy's police contact Stan's cousin. For some reason, I like when series books intertwine. I miss old favorites from other series and enjoy the "reunion" with them when they appear, however briefly, in a new series. The Ivy Nash, IN, s IN Doubt is a great read. I didn't need to bury my head - what I do when I am watching scary or dark movies - at all which is good because it is hard to read with your head buried. If you like mysteries and thrillers, I would pick this book up. I know there were twists and turns I didn't see coming at all as I read. I'm sure you will enjoy IN Doubt. I feel like I really know Ivy and it’s impossible to put any of the books in this series down once I’ve started. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. If you enjoy thrillers, set aside a weekend to lose yourself in this one.

Hi hum. So I did not enjoy this book, though obviously many did. However, to be fair to the author, I have scored according to the qualities of the book itself and not my reaction to the characters. As always, it is well written, atmospheric, absorbing, and intriguing with characters which truly come to life for the reader. Why not try it for yourself and make up your own mind about Ivy?

Once again, John Mefford delivers a great thriller/mystery in the Ivy Nash series. This is the 3rd book in the series and it can be read as a standalone but I think you’ll want to read all three. The theme continues with Ivy Nash always on the lookout for the man who is trying to kill her. Never with her guard down, she must continue to live her life and her ECHO business. She gets a job protecting a little girl with an extremely rich father who is charged with sexual assault on a minor. The love the father shows he’s little girl is so convincing could he really be the person the authorities are saying. Then Ivy’s only employee, Cristina, starts talking to her estranged mother and someone whom she never wanted to see again comes back in the picture. The book weaves in and out between difference parts of the story and keeps your interest. Never a dull section and you’ll want to keep reading. Of course, the ending leaves you wanting more!

Ivy Nash had barely gotten over rescuing little Emma from her strung-out mother trying to sell her for drugs, when Emma’s father, billionaire Dillon Burchfield, gets arrested for sexual assault to a minor. Dillon had hired Ivy and her ECHO employee Christina to return Emma then, and now he has hired them to help take care of her while he fights the charges against him. But something about the charges doesn’t add up, so Ivy, being the sleuth she is, doesn’t give up until she uncovers the truth. In this chapter, she discovers just how strong she is. I like that Christina’s problems take a forefront this time around. I think we’ll see a closer bond in their next story. The Alex Troutt crossover played out well. It was fun watching the two cousins work together. That was the high point for me.

What a twisted, thought provoking story Mr. Mefford has woven! While I love all of the Ivy Nash stories, this one got under my skin and made me unable to stop reading. Ok series. I'm a little surprised by all of the 5 star ratings. I know rape is unfortunately common, but it seems to be a central theme in all of these books. Furthermore, if you're going to write about rape, you probably should focus a bit more on the trauma and recovery process. I get that Ivy is supposed to be a bad ass, and she has a few depressed moments at the beginning of books 2&3, but good grief....it's not realistic to 1) endure so much in a short period of time and 2) bounce back so q Ok series. The author does do a decent job of describing hypervigilance but the rest leaves a bit to be desired IMO. I like the characters for the most part and appreciate their development throughout the series, although I think he needs to give us a bit more with Saul. But these aren't 5 star books IMO. They're ok, but I'm not even sure I'd recommend them.

Through a lot of action and intrigue she stays true to her gut and solves or help solves the case, an unknown crime and Christina’s dilemma. The ending and villains were predictable, but it still was a good book and really helped build the characters and their team dynamic.

I love John Mefford's way of spinning a story. His books keep you in suspense and just when you think you have the story figured out, something else happens and you see that you still have no idea where the story will end.
