While this is not the first time I have read through the entire Bible, it is the first time I have read it through in one calendar year. That is partly because I purchased this particular Bible this year! It is full of so many great study notes, word studies, and life applications. Highly recommend this particular study Bible for all Christian women!

My Thoughts: I love getting a good Bible, or a really good study Bible. One can never have too many of them! I love this study Bible. It has a little bit of everything to help you understand the books of the Bible. Complete with areas to mark down your family tree, your marriage, and the women in your life that are important to you, this Bible is not only great for studying, it's beautiful on the outside and the inside. It's colorful and has beautiful flowers on the hardcover binding. The pages within are beautifully done and are broken down to help you study the Bible more thoroughly. The New King James version is easy to read and understand. If you are looking for something simple to carry with you, this is not the Bible for you. If you are looking for something 5 star worthy, that will not only be easy on the eyes with it's large print wording and the lovely flowers on the outside but also easy to understand and have your questions answered, then this is for you. It's got beautiful red lined pages making the design over all lovely both inside and out. I definitely will be sharing this Bible with all the women in my life! I highly recommend you do so, too! I love scripture but I am not a biblical scholar. When I read passages from the bible I don't always get everything I can from my study time. That's why I love it when my pastor brings new insight to the stories I've read so many times before. He's good at setting the scene and bringing to light the historical significance of verses. He links other scripture with the one we're studying and suddenly the bible comes alive in a new way. And guess what? It's like having your pastor on a 24/7 lifeline! That's because it's chock-full of extra study resources that bring new meaning to verses I've read countless of times before. For review purposes I chose to study the Psalms. I love the sheer beauty of emotion in this book. I've read it many times but after reading The Woman's Study Bible version I feel like I've lived my way through the Psalms! What a powerful difference! To start with, there are two pages of set-up -- the history of the Psalms, who wrote them, background and themes. Even literary characteristics! And then, as I delved into my daily readings I was blown away by all the extra information this bible offers. There are sidebars that bridge the concept in a Psalm with New Testament scripture and special reflections for women. Cool coloured tables bring understanding at a glance on topics such as the types of Psalms, The Names of God, The Images of God in the Psalms and so much more.Pertinent quotes from notable women are woven throughout as well. Honestly -- I have never enjoyed bible study more! No checking the clock or racing through to the end of a chapter. (Yes, I just admitted that publicly.) I just lost myself in the Word and came away with a greater understanding thanks to all the extras The Woman's Study Bible has to offer. I haven't even touched on all the special features -- see the product description for that. And it's all wrapped up in an elegant package. A really stunning bible that will be cherished for a lifetime. The perfect gift -- for yourself or someone special in your life. My thanks to Thomas Nelson Publications and Litfuse Publicity Group for providing me with a copy of this

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the scriptures and studying God’s word in this Bible. I am now working my way through Romans. The footnotes in this Bible are so very helpful. I find myself underlining not only Bible verses as I study, but also various footnotes that help me understand the verses better. I have been struggling with worry for the past few weeks. I have been praying and studying using this Bible, and, of course, the Word of God never comes back void. Yesterday, the chapter in Romans that I was reading had one of the special study features with a section on “Worry”. The timing was perfect and as I read through the guide, I was able to flip through the Bible to read the verse references that were recommended. It was such a help! This Bible is a beautiful and helpful way to study God’s word and I highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this Bible. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I love Bibles, and I can say I do have quite a few, but what makes a Bible truly unique for you? For me there are features that I am always looking for in any Bible I consider to use for my Bible Study or just daily readings. I love study Bibles because they contain so much back story information about any particular passage you are reading. It's like getting a commentary and a Bible all in one. So what makes Thomas Nelson's New King James Version of the Woman's Study Bible so special? First of I love Bibles, and I can say I do have quite a few, but what makes a Bible truly unique for you? For me there are features that I am always looking for in any Bible I consider to use for my Bible Study or just daily readings. I love study Bibles because they contain so much back story information about any particular passage you are reading. It's like getting a commentary and a Bible all in one. So what makes Thomas Nelson's New King James Version of the Woman's Study Bible so special? First of all, I love the New Kings James Version. It is what most pastors teach from in reading from the Bible because it is accurate in its translation from the King James Version which was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls and makes them a reliable source to reference in any of your Bible Studies. Just the box alone makes this Bible appealing. It pertains to women in each section you read. If there is some reference to a godly woman quality such as Commitment, found in the Book of Ruth. It highlights why that is so important for women that it is the very bedrock of any relationship along with other references on where you can find more notes on commitment like Matthew 16. Just the comparisons of Ruth and the Virtuous Woman are highlighted in Ruth and cross compared to those specific traits in Proverbs 31. Her family commitment is noted by others, she provides sustenance for her household, her selfless lifestyle drew praise from others, and she committed herself to Yahweh as God. It even takes special consideration to note Orpah, the daughter in law with a wavering faith, as well as Naomi the wise mother-in-law. There is a section on Ruth the faithful Moabitess and what made her truly unique that an entire chapter was devoted to her actions while Orpah was never heard from again. There is even a illustration of the family tree of Ruth and why it was so important in the line of David's descendants and later in Jesus Christ. We even get a description of grandparenthood when we dive further into Naomis' life as a live-in grandma and what impact that has in not only her life but in the life of Ruth and Boaz and how if that is your situation, how you can benefit from that in your own life exemplifying for your grandchildren, that forgiveness is the highest form of giving, right and wrong are defined by God's Word, and that great joy can be experienced in each day, rather than dwelling on the past or future. I received the NKJV Woman's Study Bible by Thomas Nelson compliments of Thomas Nelson Publishers and Litfuse Publicity. I especially love the Large Print 11-point font format and the fact that this Bible is so wonderful to hold. It is a soft leather cover with embossed flowers on it and the best part is that it lies flat! Full color illustrations are found throughout the Bible as well as maps that highlight each chapter and show you exactly where that took place in the world. There are over 100 biblical profiles of women in the Bible as well as insightful essays by women who are experts in the fields of theology, biblical studies, archaeology and philosophy. Also included are topical index, concordance, quotes from Godly women throughout history, book introductions and outlines. This is such a beautiful Bible that would make the perfect gift to any woman in your life and would be perfect for Mother's day or Easter! I give this Bible a 5 out of 5 stars and now is my new morning devotional Bible of choice!

I know most of you are saying to yourself, "Whats so special about it, its just a Bible?" To me, its something that will speak directly to me much more than just an ordinary Bible. This one in particular has had over 80 various women from multi-faceted backgrounds pour into it. The features alone are really something to rave about. This Bible is loaded with them. I love all the latest features included in this Bible but I have a few favorites I would like to focus on. I love the book introductions at the beginning of each book. I like it because I love the background information that I may not know. such as who wrote the book, the literary characteristics, and the themes of each book. I'm a history buff so that probably plays into it, a little. Another great feature in this Bible is the detailed Biographical portraits of over 100 Biblical women. Amazing precision to detail should be noted here. I really like background information and learning even more about these fascinating women in the Bible. The editor and contributors researched thoroughly and it shows. The is a beautifully bound study Bible that could lasts for years to come. With so many features that you couldn't possibly go through them all in one sitting. **Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.

This review is actually about some features of The NKJV Woman's Study Bible, not all sixty-six books that are contained in it. This Bible grabbed my attention as soon as I opened the box. I received the cloth over board version, with a pretty floral design that I liked instantly. It looks and feels like a journal cover. There are also hardcover and imitation leather versions available. After looking inside the The NKJV Woman's Study Bible I saw lots of color on its pages. Also, there are pictures and word boxes that break up the reading of the actual Biblical text. This is helpful for me because I have trouble focusing on what I am studying if I am just reading word after word. The image below is what a page of this Bible looks like. Here is first chapter of the book of Esther. The actual Bible is in the large print while the verse-by-verse study notes section at the bottom is in smaller print. It's a study bible so I want to show what that means with the verse-by-verse study notes. This is just one of the ways to study with The NKJV Woman's Study Bible. First, the image below is a close-up of the first chapter and first few verses found in Esther. Notice the different colored heading and that it is in cursive. That is one aspect the makes reading more appealing for me. Each chapter throughout the whole Bible has this. Here's where the study part comes in. After reading the first verse found in the first chapter of Esther, go to the verse-by-verse study notes at the bottom of the page. The image below is of the verse-by-verse study notes. Notice there is a larger "1:1" with a sentence following. I like the larger size of the numbers. It makes it very easy to find the right study note quickly. The sentence after it gives a little more explanation as to who Ahasuerus was in the reading. There are a lot more great features I found in The NKJV Woman's Study Bible. The description in the beginning lists features that I did not detail. I also like the quotes from godly women throughout history that are found throughout. I am not sure this is a Bible a person would want to carry around because it is about two inches thick. The NKJV Woman's Study Bible is a great looking Bible filled with lots of info for studying scripture and I would recommend it for all it has to offer. I was provided a complimentary review copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

I've made it no secret that the NKJV Study Bibles are my favorites. The fact that this Woman's Study Bible is gorgeously designed with women in mind gives it a more special feel. I know it doesn't(or shouldn't) take anything fancy to get us in God's Word. His Word is sufficient. It sure does help to have a fabulous, beautiful Bible, though. I have the imitation leather covered one, and it looks simply elegant. It's two-toned brown, with flowers engraved on the darker brown. His Word is sufficient. It sure does help to have a fabulous, beautiful Bible, though. I have the imitation leather covered one, and it looks simply elegant. It's two-toned brown, with flowers engraved on the darker brown. There's also the option to get a hardcover or a cloth covered one. Inside, the features are fully colored. The writing is large. (I've also made it no secret how I detest tiny writing.) Aside from the normal features within a study Bible(footnotes, historical tie-ins, maps, authors/dates/background information on books, etc), there are also several features with women specifically in mind. There are quotes throughout from other women. At first I was a little bothered by the fact that the words of women were put right in between God's Word. These quotes seem to have been chosen to go along with the specific verses they are put beside, though, and that does have its appeal. There are also features about women of the Bible, both good and bad, well known and not so well known, like Rachel, Dinah, Gomer, and Drusilla. In John, we get a feature on "The Samaritan Woman". We're given a bit of background, showing us 3 ways Jesus broke the social rules by talking to her in the first place, and how much more special that made His forgiveness for her. There are also features about things women commonly deal with(in one way or another) like prayer, husbands, abortion, widowhood, the loss of a child, and even birth control. This Bible is wonderfully done! If you want a plain and simple Bible, with no extras(and sometimes I do want just that), this isn't the one for you. Otherwise, I can't imagine any woman would be disappointed in it. I'm thrilled with it. It's perfectly lovely. *As I always say, don't ever take the extras/features as facts. The features are written by imperfect humans. God's Word is all that matters and it IS perfect, all on its own. I have greatly enjoyed and appreciated the extra study helps, though, just like I appreciate teachers and preachers guiding me through God's Word. (I don't always have to agree for a message to be beneficial). **I was given a free copy of this Bible.

This Bible is geared towards women to show that women do serve a purpose. Women played major important roles all throughout Scripture. Over 80 women, including Elizabeth Elliott, worked on putting this beautiful Bible together. The packaging is bright, beautiful, and cheery which immediately catches the eye. There are three versions. There is a hardcover that looks more like the box, a fabric cover with a beautiful colorful design, and a the brown/burgundy or leather soft. This is a beautiful brown/burgundy leathersoft cover with gold trimming on the edges. The NKJV is an easy to understand language written in large print. I love the large print simply because the print in a lot of Bibles can be ridiculously small causing the reader to squint as they read. It is designed to lay flat as you’re studying so you won’t have to worry about the annoyance of pages randomly flipping or the book closing on you. Filled with over 100 biographical portraits of women, thousands of verse-by-verse study notes, over 300 in-text topical articles on relevant issues, insightful sessays by women who are experts in the fields of theology, biblical studies, archaeology, and philosophy this Bible is perfect for those who are serious about going deeper in their Bible studies. Each book has an introduction and outlines to help understand the original intentions and audience as well as outlines. Hundreds of full-color maps, charts, family trees, and timelines also help make this Bible personal. There are tons of quotes from Godly women throughout history. It also includes a tropical index and concordance. Highly recommended for women of all walks of life whether you’re picking up the Bible for the first time or you’ve read the Bible many times. If you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus, then I recommend this one. Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. For the new release edition, it will come in a hardcover, imitation leather, cloth bound over a floral print board and a digital ebook. I love the imitation leather copy I received. I've started using this for my studies for the past 2 weeks in preparation for this review. First, I really like the full color aspect. It does 'brighten' it up a bit, making it easier to see the headings and the special sections. At the start of each book, the "information" part have always been a favorite of mine in study Bibles. It gives you a nice refresher for those already familiar with the Bible or an overview for those who are new to it. What also makes The Woman's Study Bible different is the many female contributors to this particular edition, providing essays and prose that are profound and insightful. The 100 biographical portraits of over 100 women in the Bible is a great feature for us to understand the roles of women in the Bible, on how to be a Christ-follower and become a godly woman in His name. As a study Bible, it has all the hallmarks of what makes a great study - index, information, maps, timelines and family history, as well as a personal favorite, a concordance to look up specific words. And as a study Bible, the footnotes are just as important for us to continue further research if necessary. The size is a decent size, which is more for home or if you don't mind carrying it, one that expect a longer period of use. There's just so much info. A great Bible for any female, and would make a great gift as well. This review first appeared on Just Commonly blog. For images, please see original post on blog. I am so glad I did because not only is the cover pleasing to the eye, but all the colors and pretty flowers are spread throughout all the pages. It makes the pages not run together for my tired mom eyes. The colors are definitely a nice addition. In each book, you will find some extra special tools to help you as you study them. These include timelines and outlines, information about the author of that book and some background for the story. I have always loved the book of Ruth so I jump straight there to check it out. Wasn't she was such a faithful and dedicated woman, one to be admired? I sure believe so! In this Bible, I really enjoyed the sections in Ruth that gave a deeper looking into some of the crucial women in the book such as Naomi, Oprah, and Ruth. It was so interesting learning more about each of these women and really getting some insight on how they lived and what had led up to this point of Ruth. Along with all the sections about the women, the publishers included some articles throughout the books as well. In Ruth, there was a lovely article sharing about grandparents and how using their lifetime of knowledge and wisdom could be so helpful to the younger parents as they raise their children. I had never thought about Naomi being a "live in" grandparents but that was mostly likely the case in her story so it was interesting to think of her taking on that role to Ruth's son. Reading the Bible is one of my favorite times of the day and now I love it even more. All the beautiful colors and designs along with the helpful maps, summaries and character profiles make diving into each book exciting. Each took makes it come to life even more than before. I highly recommend you check out The Woman's Study Bible. It is an awesome tool for digging in dipper and soaking up the Word of God. I look forward to using often.

This is not a review of the Bible as a whole, but more of my opinion of this particular redesign, which is a full-color version of the NKJV Woman's Study Bible. Some of the included features are: -full-color design throughout -character profiles of over 100 biblical women -in-text topical articles on over 300 life issues relevant to women -essays written by women who are known as experts in their fields (theology, philosophy, biblical studies, and archaeology) -outlines in introductions for each book This is not a review of the Bible as a whole, but more of my opinion of this particular redesign, which is a full-color version of the NKJV Woman's Study Bible. However, I particularly like the various ways this is tailored to women, such as the following: Character profiles: Women such as Eve, Abigail, Chloe, Deborah, Dinah, Sarah, Ruth, Martha, Mary Magdalene, and many others are featured. Some of the women are quite well known to many, but it was interesting to learn more about some of the lesser-known women who are just as important. Sections on life issues relevant to women: Numerous topics are included, so there is likely to be something that "hits home" with every woman. Some of the issues addressed are: -Fear: Shutting God out -Commitment: The bedrock of a relationship -Gratitude: A thankful spirit -Inheritance: Passing it on -Envy: Discontent with what you have -Communication: Exchanging ideas -Fitness: A lifestyle of total health I was also quite interested in these sections: "Flowers and plants of the Bible," "Vegetables of the Bible," and "Herbs of the Bible." I've read a number of versions of the Bible, and I've never seen these items pointed out before in such a clear way. The Bible I have is the brown/burgundy leathersoft version. Overall, it is beautiful, with its floral box, softcover, gold-edged pages, fabric ribbon, and colored pages and maps. This is certainly one Bible to be treasured for many years to come. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy as part of the Litfuse blogger program, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.

The Binding: This Bible is something special. Thomas Nelson ups the ante with multiple binding options; the leather is likely beautiful, but I selected the clothbound and just love it. Not your normal hardback book or even Bible, the clothbound option offers an in-between middle ground that is both feminine and durable. Pairing the ease of the hardback and its lay-flat benefits with a pretty fabric makes for an eye-catching book that will last even without a Bible cover (though I still recommend The Binding: This Bible is something special. Pairing the ease of the hardback and its lay-flat benefits with a pretty fabric makes for an eye-catching book that will last even without a Bible cover (though I still recommend it!). This Bible is heavy and, if you set it on the floor by your bed, your foot will easily stub on a corner or indent the pages. (Ask me how I know.) The Extras: The NKJV Woman's Study Bible features a ton of extras, as noted above. I love the full-color artwork interspersed throughout the pages; the splash of color makes me smile. I also enjoyed reading a handful of the articles; several longer ones are featured at the beginning, and other, shorter/topical ones are placed near corresponding scriptures. My favorites included the features on Holy Week (what timing as we go through Holy Week right now!); missions (quelle surprise, knowing me!); fitness; and work. I felt like each very specifically spoke to my own life of late, and appreciated the introspection it incurred. Each article also includes a "chain-reference" type component - referring the reader to other pages on similar topics and scriptures accordingly. The editors admirably present the scriptures and opportunities to apply them in our everyday lives. So often we wonder how Numbers could possibly be relevant (amirite?) - and yet, these ladies do it! (You'll have to check the Bible out to see how.) The I-Wish: While the study Bible features the expected index, concordance, and maps, I wish its contributor list included an index component. I'd love to find anything written by Elisabeth Elliot, for example; while I'm sure I'll find it eventually, that would be a nice added feature. I received a free copy of the NKJV Woman's Study Bible from Thomas Nelson. All opinions are my own.

I've been using the NKJV Woman's Study Bible for Bible Study Fellowship the past month. I am a children's leader in BSF. I co-teach Level 5/high school. As apart of the review, I have used the Bible to answer the adult questions part in the BSF program. Since last September, BSF has studied the Gospel of John. I've read the book of John in this Bible for the review. The first point I want to bring out is the easy print. It is 11 point type, but it is also a type font that's easy on the eyes. In addition, in the lay-out of the verses, the subtopic headings are in red script font. This font is different then the print type. These two types of prints paired together give a distinct and unique look. This is a minor review point but it's an additional reason in giving this Bible an excellent rating. A two page outline is given on pages 1616-1617. The outline is on the women who knew Jesus. For example: Mary, Jesus' mother; Mary Magdalene, and Mary and Martha of Bethany. Included is when they were introduced in Scripture, their response, and Jesus' response to them. A devotion on caring for older parents on page 1615. Caring for parents is becoming prominent. The devotion shares what Scripture teaches in regards to the care and treatment of parents. Other interesting features I loved: Two full-color maps are included in John. A chart of "The Definitive Christological Passages." An outline of "Jesus' Miracles Among Women." A devotional reading on the Samaritan woman. An outline of "The Names for Satan." A devotional reading of Mary Magdalene. This reading is my favorite from the book of John. It reminded me of the beautiful devotion and experience Mary had with Jesus. Two things stand out in this Bible: the visual appeal and the additional material included.

There are several special pages at the beginning of the Bible, including a Ketubah Marriage contract (traditional Jewish marriage contract), Family History to fill out, Special Family Memories, and page to list My Spiritual Mothers. There are several articles about women and the Bible after the preface. The contributors are women from diverse backgrounds. This is truly a study Bible. There is fascinating information to study at the beginning of each book of the Bible: title, author, date, background, themes, outline. Pages have footnotes with more information. There are also short sections within each book of the Bible for more detailed reading. For instance, in Genesis there are sections on Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Dinah, and more. Between the Old and New Testaments there is a section with fascinating information like Flowers of the Bible, Vegetables of the Bible, Bitter Herbs of the Bible, etc. The New Testament is red letter, with the words of Christ in red. This is the NKJV (New King James Version) translation, which is very readable and also preserves a lot of the poetic language of the traditional KJV translation. The font is 11 point, which I find easy to read. The Bible lays flat as you open it, so you can set it on a desk or table and read it easily. There is a substantial appendix including Money and Measurements of the Bible, Index, Concordance, and Maps. I particularly like the Index, where you can look up people, places, or topics (i.e. Peter's Mother-in-Law, Pentecost, Prayer, Praise). The Woman's Study Bible would be a perfect Bible for daily studies, and it also would be a really special gift. I am very impressed with the beautiful quality of this book and the loving scholarship that is included for study.

The NKJV Woman's Study Bible is a fantastic study bible for women. Starting with the Bible itself, the cloth hard cover is beautiful and we see this design throughout the bible. I loved reading the biographies of the women we have met throughout the Bible. The insight and the details that I never read before just amazed me, it was like getting to know old friends. I found myself drawn to many of the topics in this Bible but the one I really found myself drawn to the topic of Euthanasia in regards to Cain killing Abel. In this topic the title is God's Timing In Death. This topic gives explanations /clarity of Cain killing Abel. The definition of Euthanasia and how we as humans need to entrust mortality to God. After losing my Father last year this really gave me many things to think about. The unique part is it gave more notes on this subject and where to find them with what verses. This alone gave me the opportunity to dig deeper into the topic of death. The colorful nature of this Bible really caught my eye but the maps of the biblical world gave me a reason to pause. As a grade schooler in a private school, we learned the different maps and had to draw and label them so these colored maps gave a new perspective of them for me. On a whole this Bible is just fantastic. I typically read NAB Bibles but this Woman's Study Bible NKJV version will definitely be the one I read in conjunction. I really loved this Study Bible from the pages to fill out for family history, the preface articles, to the how the chapters each start, and the index at the end. I highly recommend The NKJV Woman's Study Bible From Thomas Nelson Publishing to any woman you will not be disappointed. Also a great gift for any young woman, teen age girl, and preteen girl, it will really give them insights to the women of the Bible. I cannot wait to Grow in the word. I give this Study Bible 5 + STARS.

This "Woman's Study Bible" uses the New King James Version. It has a soft leather-like cover and contains many study resources throughout the text, such as Bible book introductions, devotionals, Bible information charts, diagrams, pictures, Bible verse study notes, a reference guide to the special features (index), a money and measurement translations/equivalents chart, and color maps. I also noticed that there are many gift/intro pages throughout the first pages, such as "This Bible Belongs To", the "Ketubah Marriage Contract", "Family History", "Special Family Memories", and "My Spiritual Mothers" pages. This specialty Bible is packed full of study help and information throughout the pages. It goes in depth about various topics about Jesus (Yeshua), Biblical women, issues important to women, and other important information and topics in the Bible . The study notes opened up the Bible deeper to me than I think any specialty Bible ever has. For example, in the book of Philemon it displays a chart of "Women Using Their Gifts in the Early Church". The chart lists the women, what they did, along with Bible verses to show where the women's stories are located in the Bible. The quotes from women throughout the text were something different than what I am used to but in a way I think that brings present and past followers of Yeshua (Jesus) alongside ancient text to provide encouragement. One of the pages in this Bible didn't get trimmed down in the manufacturing process before it was sent to me and sticks out a lot, but I think I can easily fix that with a pair of scissors. All the other pages look fine though. I am probably going to be purchasing some Bible book tabs for this Bible, which shows me that this is probably going to be a Bible I use often if I am interested in tabbing the pages. I received this specialty Bible free for the purpose of reviewing it.

As I opened the box for The NKJV Woman’s Study Bible, I was overtaken with sheer giddiness at the beauty of the Lord's story. Our Story. When I shop for a Bible, I don't just go pick up the first thing I see. It has to be something that doesn't change the meaning from the KJV. It has to be a book that is easy on my eyes to see. It also has to be comfortable. I like a concordance, and some other study guides, certain translations of words that are key to the message. Red letter when it is Jesus words. As well as the quality of the actual book itself. The stitching, the leather, the edges, the pages. Last but not least, I want a ribbon bookmark. This Bible has all that, and while it is imitation leather, I was sold. As I opened it up, I was greeted with beautiful pages. The colors of this Bible are so soothing, I just wanted to be "in it" I know, I know you shouldn't judge reading the Bible by the way it looks externally, that ole' judge a book by the cover thing. Well, they shouldn't make it so beautiful! So that being said, I immediately went to read James, which for me, is how I can tell if I am going to like a version of the Bible or not. I read James, I read John 3:16, Romans 3:23 and the first few books of Genesis. If they stay true to the KJV, then I know I can trust that version to not lead me down a wrong path. This New Women's Study Bible is perfect for the things women face every day, from just feeling an incredibly crappy day, days when our home is the last place we want to be, or even those times, when we want to argue with God and not let him have control of every aspect of our life, just to name a few things. This Study Bible contains features like maps, a concordance, an index, topical features throughout the Bible as well as inspirational quotes that are set throughout by notables as Mother Teresa, Ruth Bell Graham, and Gloria Gaither.

The top half of the cover is embossed with a floral design and the gold lettering is a beautiful bonus. The presentation page is very pretty and always an added bonus. I love that there is a place to record my marriage and family history and marriage. Something new to me is a page where the user can record up to six spiritual mothers, with a place to note name, Godly characteristic, spiritual gift and special verse. This is a wonderful feature and one that I would have never thought of, but I immediately had several names that I wanted to record. I really enjoy the NKJV text and the size of the text is perfect for me. While I enjoy the study notes it is the little inspirational quotes that are peppered throughout the Bible that really spoke to me. I found myself seeking them out. I used the book of Ruth to get a feel for some of the features of the Bible and let me tell you I really enjoyed the character studies that were included along with Ruth's family tree. I have been using this Bible daily and it truly is beautiful to look at but more that that it really provides so many useful study tools that have become invaluable to me in my study. Truly a wonderful gift for Mother's Day but really a gift that would be welcome any time of the year.

But what I love about their insight here is the talk of creativity beyond arts and crafts and how we can be creative in so many other ways. Some they include are: solving a problem, stretching a budget, hatching an idea. God has given each of us gifts. What a joy to know we can use them for Him. Other inserts in Colossians include "Identity in Christ: A Member of His Family," "Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness," and "Employment: The Rewards of Work." These are all beneficial and encouraging in our walk with Jesus. One other insert I love is the one called "My Identity in Christ." The writers list who I am "As a Christian" with "Scripture Reference." Along with the uplifting messages, there are footnotes that explain the scripture's meaning. The Woman's Study Bible is a lovely rendition filled with interesting and useful information that will encourage and uplift women as we study God's word. I also love the colorful flowers on the study cloth cover and pink tint to the gilding on the pages. The attractive cover invites me to open God's word and dig in. I highly recommend this beautiful Bible. I received this Bible from Thomas Nelson.

I chose the imitation leather covered Bible. When it arrived I was in awe at how gorgeous it in(both inside and out). I love everything about this Bible, but I especially love that it's geared for women. It addresses issues we as women face, has little quotes throughout the Bible. I love that there is a page with the history of each book noting the Title, Author, Date as well as the background(Setting, purpose, Audience & Literary characteristics), the theme & an outline. This is my new favorite Bible. I've paired it with a devotional that I have. If you or a special lady in your life is needing a new Bible, I would suggest you check this Bible out! It comes in GORGEOUS imitation leather, hardcover & cloth over board

It’s cloth-bound cover is stunning, and the full-color design throughout is gorgeous. Of course, more important is the content of the notes and articles spread throughout the NKJV text, which I have found to be unique and helpful. Of course, as the title states, this is a woman’s study Bible, and as such, every opportunity is taken to describe the role of women throughout history, and to discuss in depth all the verses that directly, and indirectly, speak about women. Numerous articles scattered throughout the text serve as character biographies of significant Biblical women, and also as a discussion to help the reader consider in-depth the roles that women play in the world today, and have played in the past. In short, I believe that the best way to describe this Study Bible to call it a celebration of women. From the study notes, to the in-text articles, to the inspirational quotes scattered throughout the chapters, to the personal essays from the contributors to this unique volume, everything about it shouts about the glory of God that is revealed through all of His daughters.
