Meet the most wanted players in sports . . . one ridiculously hot alpha male at a time. Chase: With a nickname like “Sin,” it’s no wonder they call me the bad boy of hockey. Opponents curse me. And no one knows it better than my best friend, Cassie Desrosiers. I’d have to be blind not to notice her rocking body and teasing grin. So when she invites me along on a trip to Vegas, my curiosity isn’t the only thing that’s aroused. Cassie: Chase Barrett is a world-class A-hole. As his best friend, I’m allowed to call him on his BS. Who else is going to do it? Certainly not the puck bunnies swooning at every flex of his biceps. Everyone knows that Chase is the love-’em-and-leave-’em type. There’s no such thing as commitment for the king of casual hookups. So why should I care? Maybe because all work and no play makes me a sexually frustrated girl. It’s time to put the hockey stud at my beck and call to good use . . . but after a week in Vegas with Chase, I might never want to go back to the real world. Bad Reputation is a friends to lovers story that surrounds two best friends that are both ignoring the fact that they feel more for each other than just friends. Chase is your typical bad boy professional athlete that only really has one-night stands. And his best friend is Cassie, who is an overachieving workaholic who is a VP of a very successfully company. They have been best friends for many years, and their friendship started when they met in college. They soon realized that they grew up very close together, and their families soon became close, too. After Chase signs on with the Tornados and moves to Texas to play professionally with them. Cassie also joined her company because it was located in Texas to be close to Chase. They are now twenty-seven and twenty-eight, and trying to figure out what they want with the rest of their lives. And one night in Vegas changes their friendship forever. I have to get ready to get on my own flight to go back home to Vegas, so I’m going to make this a really simple and easy to write a review for you guys! Things I didn’t enjoy about this book: ➽This book alternates points of view in the middle of every chapter. This just made the story feel so disjointed, and never really allowed me to enjoy a scene completely. I really wish the character switches would have been done at the start of every chapter instead of this alternating mess. ➽Also, at the start of every chapter is an excerpt from a sports column, and I found this rather pointless and very much a waste of my reading time. It kind of connects with the epilogue, but it was still not enough to make me enjoy these senseless excerpts. ➽I grew up in Michigan during the height of the Detroit Red Wings. Hockey has planned a huge part of my life growing up, and I have never once heard of the penalty box being called a "sin bin". ➽Cassie seems to completely change her personality type in the middle of the book and it was rather annoying and abrupt. How she could become so irresponsible all of a sudden was rather unbelievable. ➽Also, after that 50% mark, this book becomes a huge mediocre sex storyline. ➽And lastly, I feel like the title of this book is sort of inaccurate, too. Things I loved about this book: ➽Chase is adopted and has two dads! I loved how this was seamlessly woven into the story, and we need more romance books that normalize queer relationships and parental figures like this! ➽I loved that Cassie was a year older than Chase. This is something I rarely see in books, and I very much enjoyed this rarely seen dynamic in adult romance. ➽Chase does an amazing job asking for consent before having sex with Cassie, especially when they’ve both been drinking. I very much appreciated this. ➽Chase had some really good dirty talk during a few of their sexual encounters, and that is something that I personally really enjoy during sex, and I thought a few of Chase’s lines were really well done. Overall, this is a decently short friends to lovers story. Like, this was a really quick read for me. Yes, the bad did outweigh the good for me, but I didn’t dislike this book by any means, I just thought it was okay. There wasn’t anything offensive or anything like that, I just felt like the alternating PoVs in the middle of the chapters were too abrupt and made for a very disjointed read that I could never fully immerse myself in. I did really appreciate all the good things I did list above, though. I just hope if you guys pick this up that you will enjoy it more than me. Happy reading! She isn't interested in one night stands and has only had 2 sexual partners who she was in short-lived relationships with. Chase is referred to as the bad boy of Hockey and spends the majority of his time in the sin box; hence giving him the nick name, Sin. Even though he is known as a player off the ice, he treats every one night stand like a princess which in return leaves behind no ill willed females. He's pretty upfront with them and lets them know from the beginning it'll be one night only. These two are great friends to each other and have a nice banter between them. Although Cassie has never thought of Chase sexually, she can't deny he's a very attractive man. Chase on the other hand has been holding his crush on Cassie close to his chest. But one night in Vegas changes the balance of their relationship and things quickly unravel from there. I don't want to expose a lot of what happens because this was basically what the book was about and I don't want to spoil it. I liked both of the MC's and enjoyed their banter. I got annoyed with Cassie quite a bit for being so oblivious. She seemed to be stuck in her own world quite a bit and comes off a bit selfish at times. I had a lukewarm liking for her there in the second half of the book. Chase I really liked throughout. He was just a sweetheart. An enjoyable read that I am sure fans of this author will find enjoyable as well. Happy reading dolls! xx **An ARC was kindly given to me by Netgalley and the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.**

And their banter is as interesting as watching a paint dry. I also wasn't impressed by the writing. It's stilted and it's all telling and no showing. It might have worked if the characters are interesting and they're telling me what's going on through their POV. But since the hero and the heroine have personalities equivalent to a loaf of white bread, it didn't really work. I was honestly surprised I got to 69% to be honest. Bad Reputation is a fun read that balances sexy times and sweet moments. The banter between the protagonists is appealing, which makes the book that much easier to read. We meet Chase Barret who is presented as the bad boy of hockey. An NHL player who’s not afraid to throw down his gloves on the ice, nor use his charm off the ice with the ladies. As of late though, he’s only interested in keeping company with his BFF, Cassie Desrosiers, whose sexy curves and smarts have never escaped his notice. He’d never act on it though because that could ruin their friendship, that is until she invites him on a business trip to Las Vegas and things don’t go exactly as planned. Cassie is a business oriented woman. She’s determined to succeed in her career in order to never have to depend on anyone. When she met Chase in college she made this abundantly clear, thus paving the way for a great friendship. His player ways suit her commitment-phobia perfectly until one drink too many allows them to explore the incredible chemistry between them. But when they don’t just blur the friendship line, they shatter it, can Chase convince Cassie they do actually belong together? I had some trouble with Cassie’s character, although a bit oblivious and selfish up until the half-way point she was of a strong, independent, responsible woman, and then she does a complete one eighty. A sticking point for my reading enjoyment. Chase’s point of view on the other hand was thoroughly amusing and enjoyable. He’s absolutely adorable. He has no qualms in sabotaging Cassie’s dates because from the beginning he knew she’s the one for him. Even though he’s introduced as a player, all his attention is centered on Cassie. I loved the easy rapport between them, it feels very real and absolutely sweet. Bad Reputation is book #1 in the Bad Boys of Sports series by Nicole Edwards. It is a full length contemporary romance, with easy and fun dialogue that keeps you involved and smiling. Told from both points of view with a happy ending. The story was really good it had me dying to know how things were goin to work out between Cassie and Chase. Cassie is a great character I really liked her. She is a very focused woman and as worked hard in her job to get where she is. Cassie doesn't have many people around her but her best friend Chase as always been there since they met back in college years ago. Chase and Cassie spend as much time together as possible but thing have never gone further then being friends even though everyone thought it would. They love each and would do anything for each other. They know each other's worst and best habits there actually isn't much that they don't know about each other. Chase is very sexy i like him straight away. His life is pretty awesome, he's one of the top hockey player in his team. Chase works hard and plays harder. Woman through themselves at him and men want to be him. One thing that he loves more then hockey is his best friend Cassie and his dads. They mean everything to him. Like I said him and Cassie tell each other everything. But there is one thing she doesn't know and thats that he has started having strong feels for her. There as always been feels there but lately random hook ups are no longer doin there job he just wishes it was Cassie. The only thing is that he can't do much about it he would never do anything to put there friendship in jeopardy she meant to much to him. It was great to see in this book that it was the hero that showed his feels first. It's normally the heroine that had them first so I really liked that it was Chase who had to deal with them. I this just made me love Chase so much more. He didn't care that Cassie was always thinking the worst of him always thinking he was with women when all he wanted was her. There relationship was so great they had everything that made a great relationship. They trusted each other had great banter and really loved each other. The sexual tension didn't really start until there trip to Vegas when things got a lil out of hard in a good way. They were so hot together. Once they started it was hard to stop but they had to thing of there friendship it meant everything. I highly recommend this book. I really enjoyed everything about it the story was great the characters were really good. Like I said I 've never read a book by this author but I well be looking forward to reading more of her work.

Witty, sexy, and delightfully romantic! Bad Reputation is a passionate friends-to-more rom-com about the sinfully, delicious Chase, who finds it harder and harder to keep his attraction for his best friend a secret, and the focused and determined Cassie who realizes that sometimes things happen for a reason, and everything she's ever wanted may be standing right in front of her. The writing is crisp. The characters, including all the supporting characters, are fun-loving, charismatic, and lovable. Witty, sexy, and delightfully romantic! I loved the story, I loved the chemistry, and I loved the characters. It had everything I look for in a light-hearted rom-com and more. Cassie couldn't do that one night thing. And she's too busy with work anyway. And also - Chase is scaring away every guy that comes near her. And then Vegas happens .... What will happen with Chase & Cassie? Does the friends to lovers thing ever work? Will there be a HEA??? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺ ══════════════════════════ This was adorable! I'm not a huge fan of the friends to lovers thing. Because - hello? He's a hot hockey god! And she's super sexy and smart - there has to be attraction on both sides!!!! And yup - there is. At least for Chase there always has been, but he doesn't want to lose her by one-night-standing-her. But he also doesn't want to lose her to another guy. And also, she would never want something serious with him - she's too scared for serious - her mom taught her that. And she's also mega-sure that he would never ever want anything more than one night. I really liked the story. Even though there were way too many people in it for my liking. It felt like there were too many future stories being set up - even though the next in the series is a football book? And I also felt that Chase's dads had already been stars in another book - no idea why. (P.S. I looved the 2 dads thing so much!!) It was way too much about other people. Chase and Cassie's story didn't really feel like the main part of the book for the first half. And their constant protesting - about how they're not attracted to the other, how they would never start anything ... bla bla. Way too much protesting. Way too much blaming it on mom. It got boring. But then came Vegas and things got a lot more interesting!!! ☺ I really liked reading it. I had to keep reading - I wanted to see how they finally got together. How and more importantly WHEN!!!! Hurry up already! ☺ I liked Chase a lot - no idea why the book is called Bad Reputation though. He's a great guy! All the weird and stupid stuff is all in Cassie's head. She should've gone to see a therapist about her mom years ago. BAD REPUTATION was a fun & sexy & slightly frustrating friends to lovers romance! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Chase - this one is MINE! ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Best friends became lovers after so many years of maintaining friendship. Chase, who had no problems in ladies department has been harbouring a secret crush on Cassie but never acted on it thinking it could ruin their perfect friendship. It also didn’t help when Cassie made it clear that, thanks to her mother’s track record on men, she’s not interested in any romantic relationships. So, what happened and how did it happen? Vegas happened. Cassie who was very workaholic and successful at a young age of 28 had been appointed to take lead on a very important project at her job. This project would be launched in Vegas. She invited Chase to come with her (in Vegas) for two reasons. 1. to get Chase’s mind off the playoffs 2. and to hang out with him. This will serve as a good distraction and breather from the project she’s working on. Everything was operating as per normal until that one night where Tequila intervened and did its own agenda. I had some trouble with 1. The Title - nothing in the book supports that Chase had Bad Reputation. Manwhore, yes but not Bad Reputation. And him being a manwhore was only mentioned in passing. Nothing in details that backed it up. 2. The hockey part of this book. Author should’ve NOT incorporated this as the games were not explored in great detail. They came only few and far between. This should’ve been genre’d as Romance, full stop. This was the first book I read from this author, I may have some issues but I did like her writing style and will definitely check out her other writings in the future. I am not interested in sports. I’m guessing it was the cover. I managed to get through this one despite myself. It was touch and go there for a bit, I’m not even going to attempt to pretend otherwise. Only my laziness to figure out what I wanted to read next kept me going. One of these days I will learn how to DNF correctly. Chase is a rich and famous hockey star and has a reputation as being “the bad boy of hockey” because he’s a trouble maker on the ice and he likes to sleep with women. Ummm, ok. He’s young, he’s loaded and he’s beautiful. I’d say that’s pretty normal not “bad” but what do I know? He is secretly in love with his best friend Cassie but he knows he can never share his feelings because it will destroy their close friendship. Thus, all the sleeping around with the hockey “bunnies”. After Chase scares off Cassie’s latest date (in a real jerky alpha move) she laughs it off and calls him an asshole but she is relieved. She is focused on her career and moving on up and isn’t seriously pursuing a relationship. She’d much rather hang out with Chase and his friends than some random boring guy anyway. And when your best friend is a hockey god normal guys don’t stand a chance. My description is making this sound dreadful, I know that and it’s not. At least not yet! Cassie is chosen to make a key note speech and present a huge rollout for her company. This is a BIG deal for Cassie. It takes weeks of preparation and will help her reach her goals. The trip is in Vegas. She decides to take Chase with her and it’s here that the story goes all to hell for me. I won’t spoil it for everyone dying to read it but I will say that some colossally idiotic behavior goes down and Cassie ends up looking like a complete idiot when it was all said and done. You might be able to get past that and forget about it. Not I. She is only 28 at the time, you might say, but at 28 I already had two kids, a mortgage, and a full time job and was well on the way to becoming the grumpy reader I am today. 28 is old enough to know better than to act like a coed on spring break. Cassie, up until Vegas, was painted as a responsible, intelligent woman so none of this made sense. This Vegas nonsense tainted the rest of the story for me because after Vegas happened I didn’t give any craps about her and her relationship with Chase. That’s better. So, as I mentioned, I did carry on after taking a little break and a few deep cleansing breaths. What followed wasn’t really worth the effort. Their sexy times were hot, I’ll give them that, but that’s not enough to carry me through a book like this when their thoughts and self-talk are repetitive and tedious. Chase describes Cassie as “hilarious” but I never saw it which is a crying shame. Telling me someone is hilarious does me no good at all when they come across as average to boring on the page. They say love is blind though and I do believe it is true. Ah well, perhaps I’m just too grouchy for this kind of book. 2 ½ stars

Chase is a professional hockey player for the Texas Tornadoes & has a reputation as the bad boy of hockey in the NHL. He’s popular in the media, & fans call him Sin. Cassie & Chase have always secretly been attracted to one another, but never acted on it. Cassie thinks Chase could never handle a relationship with his manwhore ways, but she also cares too much about him to ever screw things up. He’s like family to her, and she can’t imagine him not in her life. She doesn’t ever want to mix friendship with pleasure, & is more focused on her career, but she still could use some male attention. When Cassie invites Chase to go to Vegas with her for a work conference, things get complicated. The sexual tension is high & one kiss suddenly changes everything. Chase values their friendship. He’s always wanted Cassie, but never acted on it because he didn’t want to lose the best thing in his life. She knows him better than anyone else, & is the only woman to ever make him feel this way. Now that he’s had a taste, he craves her. He’s scared to try for something more, but he’s wanted her for so long he doesn’t feel like he’ll ever get enough of her. As friends turn to lovers they are insatiable. There’s no stopping the inevitable, but falling in love with your best friend is complicated. I really enjoyed this sexy friends to lovers romance! Chase was absolutely delicious & I always love a bad boy who falls hopelessly in love. -He’s my best friend. He knows me better than I know myself. -No other woman on the planet has managed to break me. But Cassie... Cassie has the ability to destroy me and I didn’t even realize it... Some people say that at some point you get bored because she describes a lot and gives a lot of details. But NO WAY. She can write to the sky and to the stars. Every single word of hers is like a tiny little piece of a giant puzzle. You savor every detail and every word. My God this woman can write. And the hot stuff…damn…I could’ve melted the Antarctica. Bad Reputation is written from both main characters point of view. It has great secondary characters too. I wish to read in the near future Marky Mark and Natalie’s story, and even the story Chase’s dad’s…This story is about two best friends who fell in love with each other. Or maybe I should say that it’s about two best friends who wake up and admit their love and attraction for each other. They met in college, nine years ago, and they’ve been best friends ever since. Chase a.k.a Sin or a.k.a The Bad Boy of Hockey is a professional hockey player in NHL. He’s every woman dream…sexy with dark hair and blue eyes, well build, rich and famous. A real beast on the ice and a machine in the bed. “Any woman who has done the deed with him has moved on with her life feeling like a princess. Not a single woman in his sordid past has ever said anything bad about him. He’s the love -’ em-and-leave-’ em type, yet every single one would probably give him another go if he simply snapped his fingers.” I liked his commitment, dedication, and honesty to his friendships with Cass, his relationship with his dad’s and his honesty and trust in their family. Although from the book we understand that he is a real player with the ladies, he wasn’t. I knew from the start that he loved Cass. Yeah sure…he was the player but in the past. He is like a “Trophy wife”, real husband material. Cassie is a sexy successful business girl. She is smart, the smartest in her company and the youngest VP. She has a difficult relationship with her mother, but a great relationship with Chase’s dad. She doesn’t have any friends because her job is very important. it doesn’t show, I think that she was in love with Chase from the past too, just she was afraid to admit that and to lose their friendship. To both of them, their friendship meant a lot. They couldn’t imagine their life without one another. What I liked, even more, was their maturity over the situation. The hot stuff…INCREDIBLE!!! So, if you are looking for something sweet, funny, extremely hot and very well written…this book is the one! Highly Recommended!

THANK YOU! Jackpot! This story was absolutely one my favorite reads so far this year! Considering I am a sucker for friends-to-lovers types of stories (when done well), this was the icing on the cake! Chase Barrett is a hot shot, hot headed (for his amusement only) hockey player who just so happens to have no intentions of falling in love and settling down. At twenty-seven years old, he has his career, puck bunnies who throw themselves at him and his best friend, Cassie. Cassie Desrosiers is 28-year-old executive at her company who is happy with her career and okay with knowing that she'll never settle down. She has her best friends, Chase and Natalie, a wonderful life...what more can a girl ask for? Cassie and Chase's friendship is full of humor, hijinks and the comfort level between the two was truly palpable through the pages. While everyone has doubted that a man and a women could never be "just friends", Chase and Cassie have made it their business to display otherwise. That is until both our H and h both start to question what exactly is going on between them....are they truly best friends or could it be something more? Chase and Cassie's journey will make you laugh and melt into a puddle of "swoon". Everything these two go through- denial, lying to each other and themselves, admission to their feelings and wants and so much more, was executed perfectly and kept you interested from beginning to end. And the end? Honest to god, just awesome! I can't wait for the rest of the series. I'm thinking it's going to me Marky Mark and Natalie's story because these two are just way too perfect for each other.

Yeah. Yeah. Vegas happened real hard (heh) and nekkid antics...they did happen. Chase and Cassie were a hoot. They've got that known-each-other-forever thing going for them and I just loved their dynamic. Their teasing, that they were always there for each other, gave each other hell and had an amazing friendship. And seeing them dealing with the change from just friends to naked friends. So entertaining! And, whew boy! The steamy bits. Yeah. Edwards can write some yummy sex scenes. Lordy she'll make a girl squirm! Once these two gave in things were on fire. *fans self* Of course there were really sweet ones, too. Yall I was having a swoon over Chase. I really was. He's such a good guy despite being known as a bad boy of hockey that gets around. So, yes, there was a lot of turmoil as they changed their relationship but also on the work front for Cassie. She screwed up really bad while they were in Vegas and cost her company millions and horrible PR. There was...drama. And all her fault. And that's where I had a slight issue with this one and had me wavering between a 3.5 and 4. While she didn't make excuses she did start pulling that 'the company is making me a scapegoat' bullshit. Which, honey. No. If you'd not messed up and they threw you under the bus...yeah. But you fucked up. They were WAY nicer to you than I woulda been. So. Yeah, she lost some awesome chick points over that for me. All in all, though, Bad Reputation was a sexy blast. Cassie and Chase were adorable together and everything good friendships are made of. Watching it all turn to the nekkid fun variety of friendship was pretty entertaining. I'd read more from the series for sure. I do hope more sports will show up, though. It was pretty light on any actual sports even though he was a big sexy hockey player.

One of my favorite aspects of this book is Chase's point of view; he's always had a thing for Cassie but knows that nothing would ever come of it, so he hasn't made a move. And being a famous athlete and a bit of a player, Cassie has never thought of him as anything other than a friend. But somehow things start to change, and when Chase joins Cassie on a big work trip to Vegas after his season ends, some serious sexual tension starts going down. After a night neither can remember, their relationship goes a step further and let me tell you, the chemistry between these two is really fucking hot. Chase really sealed the deal for me in this book, but I loved Cassie just as much. She's brilliant, independent, and logical. As her relationship with Chase develops, she tries to keep her heart out of things to protect herself, but of course, that doesn't work too well (not surprising, considering how much Chase steals your heart). So to be completely honest, I found what happened in Vegas to be not 100% believable, but I like the way they handled the situation. It's obvious that Chase has always wanted something more with Cassie, so when he has the chance, he doesn't let her back down easily. Their relationship is sweet and genuine, and founded on years of a solid friendship.  Overall, this is one of my favorite friends-to-lovers romances, and I 100% recommend this! ♥

The characters are well developed and I really loved the natural feeling of the banter between Cassie and Chase. Adorable is that everybody seems to see what those two are to blind to notice. Because if you take a close look – it is obvious that they are actually living in a kind of committed relationship just without sex. I am pretty sure they see more of each and do more with and for each other than some married couple. What I also really liked about this story is that for a change it is chase our male lead who has the thoughts about Cassie first. (or so it seems to the reader) – Because usually it is always the female that falls first. Well still denial seems to be the way for both of them… And lets be honest … there is nothing really BAD about Chase quite the opposite actually and those penalties -… pfffff lets neglect them shall we ? But again that title with everything attached to it – makes him safe … because if he is an A-hole than there are no hard feelings. And to be totally sure Cassie even kind of shoves him into the arms of other women … and Chase ? well he make sure to never tell Cassie that he is not actually sleeping with all those women. Because lets face it – what they have is special and if they go any further there are no guarantees. Risking what they have and facing the possibility that it might not work out – yeah so not going there … right ? I can understand that – really I do .. because … One reason why I liked this story was because it is real … at least for me it was .. if I leave the professional backgrounds and money aside – this is actually MY very personal story … because I had my own Chase and we pretty much did the same stuff like those two – avoiding what was right in front of us … Our Vegas might have been in France at that time but yeah – stuff like this really happens ═══ PLEASE SUBSCRIBE / LIKE / FOLLOW US ════ Blog : http://www.jerisbookattic.com FB Page : https://www.facebook.com/JerisBookAttic Twitter : https://twitter.com/JeriTRyan Goodreads : https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/2... Cassie and Chase have been best friends for ten years. Cassie has never thought to have more with Chase but he can’t say the same. Their relationship is relaxed, comforting and gives them both peace. When a trip to Vegas brings about some drunken decisions, this couple is left reeling. But it’s not what you may think. He knew who he was and accepted it, embraced it and flaunted it. Through it all he’s afraid of losing Cassie. I couldn’t get enough of him. He was perfectly imperfect and that just made me crave him more. Cassie has never seen what fidelity and commitment look like. She’s not looking for a happy ever after because they simply don’t exist. What she can be sure of is that Chase will always be there for her, as long as they remain friends. I loved this book! It was lighthearted and fun, passionate and steamy and written in a style that flowed. I was totally invested in these characters from the very beginning. Friends to lovers don’t always work well for me. I like my hero to be all in with the heroine from the moment they meet. However, I knew going in that this couple had been friends for ten years and the likelihood of that was highly improbable. I was correct. However, this author presented this story and these characters in such a manner that I was okay with that. If you love friends to lovers, hockey players, an awesome male POV, then you are definitely going to want to read this one! In a way, the title of the book, Bad Reputation, forces readers to head into Nicole Edwards’ latest release with a few preconceived notions about the hero, and these bias ideas are not necessarily a bad thing since Chase Barrett proves that he’s so much more than a label, especially one that doesn’t truly define the man that he is or how his best friend, Cassie Desrosiers, truly feels about the guy whose bullshit she doesn’t tolerate. But it is interesting to hear about and even witness slanted judgments about this bad boy of hockey and while his nickname may hold true on the ice and in the penalty box, that moniker doesn't seem to match up with the man readers and Cassie get the further into the story we go. There’s an interesting dynamic between these two long-term best friends, and Nicole Edwards plays upon their friendliness and suppressed mutual attraction while they’re in Vegas, and even though before that point neither of them had anything but friendly feelings for each other, it’s clear that what happened in Vegas is not going to stay there because their compatibility as sexual partners and what seems to be building between them despite the fact they fear their friendship will implode if they pursue anything with one another, is something that won’t be contained and by that point, it seems that both Chase and Cassie feel might be worth the risk. Bad Reputation is not an angsty read at all, which is exactly what I was hoping when I started the story. Because there’s a big enough stereotype present when it comes to bad boy hockey players, manufacturing more drama doesn't make for a very entertaining read, at least in my opinion, because it takes away from the natural flow of the plot line as well as its authenticity. Edwards gives her readers Chase and Cassie's story with the expectations that it fits more of the friends to lovers trope than it does the typical testosterone fueled antics of a professional athlete and because the game of hockey is only, for the most part, a backdrop for the story line, romance readers who don't want to read another sports text that's driven by the game instead of the relationship of the main characters need not worry and those of us who love the game and the way its role in the lives of the characters, there's enough sports talk to keep us happy and patiently waiting for more of Edwards hockey stars. Nicole Edwards is known for her steamy scenes and she holds true to those standards in Chase and Cassie’s story, and what I find most interesting about their insane chemistry in the bedroom is that when they start up this 'connection' between them, the physical is what they hold onto so no other feelings can intertwine with what's supposed to be seen as a 'temporary fix,' but it's made abundantly clear that perhaps Chase and Cassie's families were right about them from the very beginning, even if it took some interesting steps to get to that realization.  I enjoyed the first book in Edwards' new series, The Bad Boys of Sports, and with the introduction of a number of players/characters throughout Bad Reputation, I'm interested to see who Edwards puts in the game of love next! 4 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

This friends to lovers, sports romance by Nicole Edwards was a really good read for me. Chase and Cassie have been best friends since college and have always been there for each other. As Chase has worked his way into a "Bad Boy" of the NHL status and Cassie has worked her way up to executive status in the business world, they have always had each other to count on for fun, conversation, and sometimes to get rid of unwanted attention from the opposite sex. But they've been just friends, or so they've always said. Then one trip to Las Vegas changes all that. Their relationship is irrevocably altered and they now have to fumble their way through and hope they still have one another on the other side. Chase was by far my favorite part of this book. I liked darn near everything about him. He might have had a bad reputation but the more I got to know him, the more I liked him. From the nontraditional but obviously loving family, to the funny personality, right down to the would do anything for someone important to him fact. Cassie was a great balance for him. The serious to his silly. The no nonsense to his take it as it comes. But some how they just fit. The relationship just made sense to me. The way they interacted just made it so real for me. I was certainly invested in how things would work out. Even as I wanted to shake them for the miscommunications, or the just lack of communication at all, I still wanted everything to work out. I loved the ending. I loved the secondary characters like Marky Mark and Natalie and hope to see more of them in the future.

Total opposites, but they have remained best friends since their college days. They fight and bicker, they laugh, tease and joke, they are all over each other’s lives and are there for each other through everything. And even though they constantly sprout off the “we’re just friends” line to pretty much everybody who knows them, behind it all, they want each other. But their differences and their fear of ruining what they have, have prevented either of them from speaking out. I want it so bad I can taste it. I’ve spent years wanting her, denying to myself and everyone else that I could have her if I tried. Because I didn’t want to lose the best thing in my life, I’ve never acted on it. But I do want her. This. Us. So fucking badly. It all changes on a trip to Vegas when alcohol and years of pent-up chemistry leads to all inhibitions being stripped away, and then the fun begins. I’m a goner. Chase Barrett is going to ruin me forever. And the worst part…I don’t even care. Hot and steamy, funny but with a nice amount of feeling, this was such a fun read. It was a bit slow to get moving, but the sexual tension builds really well as we get to know Chase and Cassie. We see their dynamic and can feel all of the undertones going on in their relationship, so by the time it all eventually happens for them, I was as frustrated as they were, and completely excited for them to start to explore their chemistry. And explore they do! This book is really hot, and the dirty talking couple are sizzling together. But more than that, there is true emotion between them, and I loved watching everything develop. I’m falling in love with this man, my best friend. I know I shouldn’t, but there’s no stopping the inevitable. It’s not an easy ride. There is still that fear that exists between them of losing everything, plus there are issues outside of the relationship which impact on what’s happening between them. But the drama and moments of angst are minimal and mostly short-lived, and handled well, and I loved watching it all unfold. This is a really fun read. It’s not a unique storyline, and there’s no real surprises where it’s all going to go, but I laughed out loud at Chase’s antics, I felt the chemistry and loved seeing these two come together. Looking forward to the next in the series. 4 stars. An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I liked the premise of this book but sadly it didn't live up to what I was hoping it would be. I felt like the first half of the book was a bit slow and then the last half was super rushed. I also didn't think there was much chemistry between Cassie and Chase. Also, I wasn't that big of a fan of Cassie. All in all, a quick but okay read. Chassie - BFF’s 4Eva Have you read a Nicole Edwards novel? If not, you have to get with the times. I have been reading Nicole Edwards for at least 4 years now and the chemistry that lives in all her books are undeniable. I can’t help but love the euphoric feeling of reading such a great book. Once your done reading it, you feel so fulfilled - you’re sad that it ended but your just elated that you had the chance to get your little paws on such a good read - Bad Reputation! Once your done reading it, you feel so fulfilled - you’re sad that it ended but your just elated that you had the chance to get your little paws on such a good read - Bad Reputation! This book contains 2 main characters that have been best friends since college, although one of them is withholding a tiny secret. Their friendship is so significant and genuine that it means the world to them both. They will do whatever it takes to always maintain their friendship because it’s so important to them. The storyline doesn’t focus on their careers per se which is what I also enjoyed because there are so many sports romances and that’s fine and all. The plot was written to incorporate their careers but not focus on them. “ Chase Barrett is going to ruin me forever. And the worst part . . .  I don’t even care.” One of Nicole Edwards biggest talents in writing is her gift to compose some of the hottest and intimate scenes in a book. Yes, she does an impeccable job multiple times in this book alone and yes, I found myself insanely jealous of “a book” - pathetic - jealous of two deliciously, off the chart characters coming together. < pun not intentional but I’ll go with it! The stuff great romances are filled with! “After that last ridiculous encounter with Andrew the Tongue, I’ve come to a decision.” “What decision is that?” Cassie’s steel-blue gaze lifts to meet mine. She smiles. “I’m not having sex until I’m married.” I laugh. “Wanna get married?” Okay, that shouldn’t have come out of my mouth.” I will just say this without ruining anything - you will get every pennies worth when you read this book because this is how a “romance novel” should be anticipated - should follow through to become excellent - it’s consistent all around with no holes going flat in between the story line, nothing like that. It’s all consuming and you will not put it down - not happening. *this review is affiliated with The Book Bistro
