In my dreams I was like this While he was like this Thoughts Mayhem is definitely one of those books I call guilty pleasures.I wanted something light and simple, because after the last book I read I was emotionally drained and in no condition to dive in a lifesucking reading experience. And Mayhem was exactly what I needed!A fluffy, funny, sweet, sexy story with great characters (every single band member was perfect, especially Mike and Shawn),strong friendships (I love you Dee!),scorching romance and a swoonworthy man-slut.Rowan and Adam were adorable together,I enjoyed so much the tension and the banters and flirtation!Rowan was easily relatable and no,she was not one of the female characters you want to stangle, while Adam, hot as sin of course,is every girl's fantasy! He made me giggle and blush and wish for someone like him!I laughed so hard while reading it,there was no drama, just pure entertainment! Would I recommend it to NA romance fans? Absolutely.

DNF at 32% I decided to give up. I am not feeling merciful enough to continue reading a book like hundreds of others before it. The beginning of the book, the characters or even the plot are one big cliche. Nothing original there. ** ARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for honest review. **

This book is amazing! I want to say 'WOW' a hundred times. Reading this one brought a smile to my face! My first book by Jamie Shaw was more than I had expected. It was surprisingly good and entertaining. I was completely hooked before I would even finish the first page, which I can tell this rarely happens to me! I was just happy to relish this very lovely, sweet romance! Be careful, you can easily fall for this bad boy! After I had taken a sneak peek at book 2, the story of Joel and Dee, I think I'll need to pick it up real soon!!!

I just met Adam freakin' Everest!!! Oh my Gosh!!! He is totally a drop dead gorgeous man!!!! I think i'm in love.... From a twist of luck she met Adam Everest, the lead singer of the band and they are making out... until it's show time. Adam leaves with the promise that they'll meet each other after the show, but she never made her appearance on backstage.... Rowan's life change from that day. She breaks up with her boyfriend and she's moving in with her best friend, Dee... The lessons in the college starts and guess what??? Adam freakin' Everest is in the same class with her, but he's not recognised her... As the time passes, she's trying to stay away from him until one day she's offering to him lessons for passing the lesson... and to manage to study together he's taking her with him on a three day tour... There she meets and the other guys and she's starting to learn more about their lives and about Adam's character... Every day, she fell deeper for him, but she kept refussing to reveal her true identity, from her fear that Adam will play with her like he does with all the other girls and then he will tear her heart apart... Adam is trying many time to get in her pants but she refuses to give in... even though she knows that he never forgot Peach (the nickname he gave her back then!).... We have many intense scenes and after they return back from the tour everything changes around them and between them... Rowan was very nice but she didn't appreciate herself too much. She really liked Adam but she let her fear guide her... and she was pushing him all the time away. She was insecure and she thought that he'll never give up his single life for her sake... Adam, from the other hand, was so cocky, self-assured, funny and free. He refuse to make promises that he never intent to keep and he is taking the life by its day!!! And don't forget that he is so damn hot!!! All the time, girls hunging around him... But when Rowan enter in his life, we can see him changing!!! And that change is so fuckin' great... He is sweet and caring and absolutely... amazing!!! Can i have him??? I want him!!! Well, I really liked Rowan's friends Dee and Leti... They were awesome and friends with a big F. And I really liked the other band members and especially Shawn... I really adore him!!! The story was so pleasant and i enjoyed it too much... I didn't want ever to stop reading it!!! I just love them all... I can't wait for the next stories.... Yeah!!! Dee and Joel... i'm coming for you!!!!

3,75 STARS!!! This was one fun read. ADAM ROWAN Adam and Rowan had lot chemistry going around, but they were friends for majority of the book. When I say majority, I mean about 85% of the book. my best friend and I were hanging out last night and discovered a mutual love for the occasional trashy guilty pleasure romance. so as soon as we got home (to our respective homes, not to one shared home, unfortunately, although that would be very fun and great and i would love it), she sent me the link to this book (in exchange for which i sent her info on the hating game, my favorite NA romance). anyway, i read this lil guy in about a sitting. i love my best friend, and thus i enjoyed this book my best friend and I were hanging out last night and discovered a mutual love for the occasional trashy guilty pleasure romance. so as soon as we got home (to our respective homes, not to one shared home, unfortunately, although that would be very fun and great and i would love it), she sent me the link to this book (in exchange for which i sent her info on the hating game, my favorite NA romance). anyway, i read this lil guy in about a sitting. i love my best friend, and thus i enjoyed this book because she loves it. probably it's not perfect or something, but the whole experience was very fun for me (we live texted and snapchatted our reading experiences) and currently the book is inextricable from the experience. i did pick up on some girl hating, though, but nothing worse than usual. and also the lead guy is very hot.

Nothing out of the ordinary, this book still managed to make me laugh a lot, which I absolutely adored. ⤐Overall. My general guts aim for a 3* in total but this book really got to me with its humour. I just couldn't resist laughing out loud or putting the book away because it was so cringy (in a good way). That's honestly what I love about quirky books and TV shows such as New Girl. I noticed the authors' writing skills. Especially the way Jamie weaved in similes into the telling. It really fit with the overall story and writing style. I didn't expect that much (can't even remember why I bought it in the first place - but I regret nothing. Both the main characters and the side character were well drawn out and fun to spend time with. ➺What's happening. Rowan is your average school girl, including a boring-ass boyfriend. Or not so boring but still an ass ex-boyfriend. On a night out with her BF she finds him being immensely intimate with another girl, all the while he told her he was on one of his many "business trips" for his job. Single and shocked she actually bought Brady's crap in the first place, Rowan is crying her eyes out. But the evening is not over yet. Adam, local rockstar and heartbreaker is there to make her night but Rowan somehow finds the strength to not let it get past a breath-taking, life-changing, panties-dropping first kiss... ...Only to find him appearing in her first French class of college, not recognizing her without make-up in her nerdy day-to-day-style. Adam carelessly neglects his studies and out of some weird impulse Rowan offers to tutor Adam crash course style. One day later, she finds herself touring with Adam and his band for a long weekend. Turns out, the circumstances of close proximity and constant contact make it a sheer impossibility to resist him a second time. The reader is not provided with Adam's point of view, which I kind of missed. But it's obvious that he is, despite his manwhore existence, a good guy who cares for the people that are important to him. He clearly makes an effort to make Rowan feel comfortable, but he clearly has more in mind than being "friends". Although I can understand, where Rowan is coming from but her constant "let's be friends"-bullshit really annoyed the crap out of me. The way they are around each other, especially the way he changes when she around says it all. It is so obvious that neither Adam nor Rowan are acting their usual selves when they are in each others company. I wanted to smack her. Hard. Repeatedly. With joy. But other than that it is a really enjoyable book. It will take me a long while though, if not forever, to continue this story because there are SO MANY BOOKS, but sooo little time... _________________________________ Writing Quality + ease of reading = 5* pace = 4* plot development = 3* (it was rather predictable, in my opinion, I would have loved a bit more exciting here and there) characters = 3* (pretty average, nothing out of the ordinary) enjoyability = 4* insightfulness = 3*

well, nothing NEW to say about the ever worn out trope "good girl/ bad boy" flick and yet it's all about the writing style... here, i liked the writing style, so i guess I don't really care what trope I m reading, If you catch my drift LOL Bad boy rocker, the lead singer Adam Everest meets a local beauty Rowan at the club Mayhem, where he performs, he sees her crying and offers her compassion and comfort over the fact that she just found her boyfriend of three years cheating on her. And yeah, well, nothing NEW to say about the ever worn out trope "good girl/ bad boy" flick and yet it's all about the writing style... here, i liked the writing style, so i guess I don't really care what trope I m reading, If you catch my drift LOL Bad boy rocker, the lead singer Adam Everest meets a local beauty Rowan at the club Mayhem, where he performs, he sees her crying and offers her compassion and comfort over the fact that she just found her boyfriend of three years cheating on her. And yeah, without really asking her name, Adam gives her a nickname "Peach" and gives her two options - she can either get even or get seriously drunk with him. She choses the latter, but she also skips after his performance and never gets backstage... and the next time Rowan sees him is in her French class, but he doesn't recognize her, without the whole sexy outfit she wore as "Peach", in fact she's just the opposite, wearing glasses, her hair in a ponytail and baggy chlothes, she's far from the alluring girls that would usually caught Adam's interest. He 's like a honey bee at the botanical garden, and I'm just a tiny daisy in a bed full of roses, I'm the only flower that won't put out and when the circumstances pull them together on the same path, Adam is likely to form a friendship with a girl, for the first time in his life, as Rowan still won't admit to him that he already met her...so she lets it slip...and when that little mischief becomes a fact when Adam remembers her...he'll now try to prove to her that they were always more than just friends, and it's time for Rowan to accept it too. I want him because of his eyes and his smile and his laugh and his heart. I want him because of his dreams and his goals and his sense of humor and his light. I want him because he made me promises even though he never makes promises, because of the way he looks at me like he looks at no one else. I want him because of the way I feel when I'm with him and the way I feel when I'm not. "Why do you want me?" "Because I love you." awww, and there you go... yeah, there couldn't be any more stereotypes in this storyline as there already are BUT I liked it. So, those of you who thrive and enjoy this kind of thrope, I have no doubt you'd like this story too, just like I did. *wink wink* p.s. oh yeah, noble mention of the members of the band: Shawn, Joel, Mike and Cody, all bad boys your mama warned you about and yet you just wanna either shag them or change them...LOL so, go for it! ;)

Man, I really love rock star romance books. I'm not sure what it is about them but whenever I see one I pick it up immediately. Mayhem was a fast, addictive read that just furthered my obsession with musicians in books. It was the perfect escapism read as it was swoonworthy, light, slightly angsty and full of fun moments. I flew through this book in one day, that's just how addictive and fast-paced it was. It was a really enjoyable read, but there were also a heap of cliches and many scenes had me rolling my eyes, I had seen in it all before. If you're looking for a fluffier, fun read without as much depth, this is definitely the way to go. Rowan Michaels is a responsible, smart girl who focuses on her school work and is currently exceeding at college. But the this doesn't stop her from going out and enjoying herself at a bar gig with her best friend. Rowan was expecting a fun night out, but this reality was absolutely shattered when she saw her boyfriend kissing another girl. Devasted from the betrayal of her long-term boyfriend, Rowan leaves the bar to go outside and try to collect her emotions. It is here that she meets Adam Everest, an upcoming Rockstar of the band playing at the club. One emotional and impulsive decision after another resulted in a very steamy kiss in the back of the Mayhem tour band. If you're wondering what happened after the passionate kiss Rowan and Adam shared, the answer is nothing. After the kiss, Rowan ran and bailed on Adam and his perceived idea of her. The confident, sexy girl that she was portraying that night was not the real Rowan, so she left without looking back. Much to her surprise, a very familiar hottie joined her French class at college. Rowan thought that she'd never see Adam again, and as soon as she does, she is struck with how much she is still attracted to him. In another impulsive and emotional decision, Rowan puts her hand up to help Adam out because he is failing the class that they share. This involves tutoring him as she goes on tour with his band for an entire weekend. This weekend, however, does not turn out as platonically as Rowan had first planned and old feelings were rekindled between the pair. Adam is a bad boy, damaged goods. He's the boy that every girl in the world hopes she can fix. This book was cute, but it was also very predictable. I would say that this is one of those books that are cliched but I can't help but enjoy. I read this book for pure entertainment purposes without hoping for any profound moments, which meant that I enjoyed the story as a whole. In general, I wasn't bothered by most of the cliches, but there were a few tropes that got to me. The insta-love was definitely a problem with the believability of the novel and made me roll my eyes a lot. I'm also really sick of the good girl, bad boy/ man-whore trope that was so blatant in this novel. Despite these overused tropes, the novel was fun with heaps of humorous moments and sweet relationship scenes. I did say that I hated the insta-love, but I'm also still a sucker for any adorable romantic scenes, so the relationship wasn't a complete fail to me. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that this was an enjoyable enough book, but it was nothing special

Rating: 4/5 stars I needed a fun and fast-paced read, and Jamie Shaw's Mayhem seemed to be the answer I was looking for. This is your typical NA novel. And when I say typical, I really mean it. It's full of tropes and cliches that have been overused. I think I've seen fruit flies live longer than the time length of the novel) • heroine slut-shames other girls because they're more promiscuous or does something outrageous to get the hero/love interest's attention • characters are only there to tell the protagonist/heroine that she's stupid for not hooking up with the love interest/hero • "Let's just stay friends" But!!!!! Despite the CLICHES, I liked it? I mean, I could have ran away appalled and threw a big o' "DNF" the second I saw things I dislike (instalove/instalust, slut-shamming, and one-dimensional characters), I liked it? For a book that's full of cliches, it was surprisingly original. (It felt like Cinderella, in my opinion, and I found myself laughing at how long it took before he found his Peach). I, right from the very start, found myself laughing at how realistic Rowan's and Dee's relationship was. It just reminded me so much of my relationship with my friends. I love Dee's and Rowan's friendship when it came to Bradly, the douchebag ex. Either than that, I didn't like how Dee was there just for the sake of telling Rowan to hook up with Adam. Despite so, Dee was pretty entertaining. I think Adam was very sweet, when he wasn't busy being distracted by another member of the opposite sex. I don't understand one thing about Adam though. (view spoiler)[If Adam was in "love" with Rowan, why was he so busy fooling around with other groupies? I don't think he was fooling around with other groupies per se, but it was implied... (hide spoiler)] Things I loved about this book • Mike. I think I swooned when I found out he was the only member of the band that wasn't fooling around with any groupies, and his reason behind why just made me think he's the best of the band. [WHICH IS WHY I GOT SO FRUSTRATED WHEN I FOUND OUT HIS BOOK IS THE LAST BOOK AND HAS YET TO COME OUT] • Dee & Rowan's friendship when it came to Bradly. • How sweet Adam was. • Shawn was entertaining/hilarious. • How sweet Adam & Rowan's relationship/friendship could be. • How funny this novel truly was. Things I didn't like about this book • Instalove/instalust [I wasn't bothered by it, since it was very last minute on the instalove part. The instalust part... I'm iffy on. On one part, it's what that sets the story. On another part, I feel inclined to include it since it leads to instalove so very quickly in the short time span that they've known each other] • Slut-shamming. There's a whole lot of it. Like, stop. Stop bashing on other women just because you're so GOOD and PURE and SO MUCH BETTER THAN THEM because you're not throwing yourself at another dude or what not. • How one-dimensional Leti & Dee could be at times. [I don't know about you, but what kind of friends would let their friend go off on a three day "trip" without actually texting to make sure that they're safe and sound? I don't know about you, but if one of my friends had that happen to her, the last thing I'd text her is a question to whether or not she lost her v-card yet. I'd ask if she's safe/sound, and whether or not she's being fed. And prob whether or not she saw anything cool.] • How "Mary-Sue" Rowan was at times. All the girls hate her, all the boys "want her"/like her. She's perfect, she's just good at everything, she's so talented, etc, etc. Either than that, I found myself laughing a lot. The Last Ones To Know bandmates and Rowan's friends were entertaining. They sure knew how to keep me interested. I was kind of glad that the whole "Adam not knowing that Rowan and Peach were the same girl" wasn't blown out of proportions. I was afraid that the author might take something small and turn it into something huge (just for the sake of angst, like how so many other NA authors tend to)... but she didn't. This was pretty funny and entertaining. I can't wait to read Joel & Dee's book, and the rest of the books in the series.

I adore the book but I would still round it down. The reason: it is rather cliche. I mean the heroine does tick every cliche box out there and the story line does as well. Did I care? Nope not one fig. Which is due to the great writing and the fabulous character building. Now I am off to re-read the entire series.. because well, it is awesome sauce.

Oh this book. THIS BOOK. It was all sorts of awesome. It was one of those galleys I just had to grab and it became a late night read I couldn't put down. What an awesome surprise. It was funny and sweet and sexy and romantic and swoon-y and hot. The whole freaking book was total foreplay. Great characters. Great dialogue. Will definitely be reading all the books in this series. Review TK Oh this book. THIS BOOK. It was all sorts of awesome. 3.5 Peach Stars This book had me in it's tight grip and wouldn't let go. I really like it however, I think the story would have benefited from having Adam's point of view. Though, you do get his point of view in the closing of the book- which helped me see a couple of things I wanted to know from his mind- it still would have added to the book to know what was going on in his head. What I liked: 1. I LOVED that Adam only calls Rowan, Peach. He never calls her babe, baby, sweetheart, and so on. 2. I 3.5 Peach Stars This book had me in it's tight grip and wouldn't let go. What I liked: 1. I LOVED that Adam only calls Rowan, Peach. He never calls her babe, baby, sweetheart, and so on. 2. I LOVED Shawn and Mike- looking forward to their stories. 3. I loved how the guys were with Rowan. 4. Humor 5. Adam's subtle ways of showing his affections through out the story for Rowan, even though it's not so obvious to her. (As for the reader- I felt like he needed to show more verbalization and less attention to groupies during those times. It set off a mix signal for Rowan.) 6. Rowan and Adam both had great sets of friends. 7. Leti's nicknames for Rowan. 8. In a way- I felt like this story reminded me a bit of Travis and Pidge from Beautiful Disaster, and a bit of their story line. Which is a good thing, since I loved that book. I liked a lot of things so I won't name them all so you can discover what you like for yourselves but I will say there are a few things that needed to be fleshed out more. Like, balancing a bunch of characters for enough story time and not letting some fall off the book pages in parts. I also didn't like how school and their French class/drama all falls between the cracks at one point, and how easy it is for the underage freshman of the story to drink and not show their fake ID's at the bars. Also, I really needed to know what was in Adam's head to buy his feelings for Rowan so when he acts on it, I can feel more from it. Though, I can obviously see he was doing things he doesn't normally do with girls when it came to Rowan, and I liked that he does have deep feelings for her. I just needed it shown or verbalized more? Anyway- My last complaint- I don't like how the Brady situation is fully resolved. Yeah- at the end I like how Adam steps up, but it's Rowan who I don't like how she handles it. Otherwise, with those issues, and missing Adam's pov for the whole story, I would have given this a solid 4-4.5 stars.

The Review: I absolutely adored this read. This is Jamie Shaw’s debut novel and It. Was. Wonderful! The story wasn’t to terribly original, as we’ve seen this scenario many times before, but the author’s clever writing, witty dialogue and wonderful character creating overshadow any rehash in storyline. I couldn’t get enough of her characters. Adam is the quintessential bad-boy/man whore and Rowan is the innocent nerd girl with a sex-kitten hidden behind the glasses. The author does a terrific job towing the line between bad-boy rocker with a sweet side and player. Adam lives his life on his own terms, not doing anything he doesn't want to do and he’s predictably against any type of commitment. The moment he meets “Peach” crying on the stoop outside Mayhem, she takes him by surprise because she’s not like all the other girls. And that night lives in infamy as Peach disappears into the night. Rowen is devastated the night she meets Adam but his saucy charm helps her past the most devastating thing that’s ever happened to her. But even as he’s inviting her to his bed, she knows that’s not the answer and disappears into the night, only to see him again in the most unexpected place. Quiet obsession ensues, until she finds the opportunity to help him like he helped her that night. Their connection is sweet and definitely on the friends side but you can certainly see the spark. I loved the slow built and Ro’s innocent wasn’t overly obnoxious. In fact, it fit her circumstances perfectly. She was spunky and vibrant and her character stood out. I loved her no-nonsense style and I enjoyed her frankness. When she once again meets up with Adam after that night, she hides who she is and hides her heart from more heartbreak. I get why she did the things she did and I was cheering her on to get the happiness she deserved. Adam and Rowan were a lot of fun. Their banter back and forth was playful and made me laugh more than once. The Wrap Up: This story was great. I stayed up all night reading and simply couldn't put it down. There was just enough angst to keep me happy, the writing was amazing, the characters were fascinating and I totally got butterflies in a few places! I especially loved the BFF’s and the little side stories going on. The entire band won me over and I can’t wait for their stories. And that ending... it left me with a HUGE grin on my face and couldn’t have been more perfect. This might have been my first book by this author, but it’s certainly not my last! Well done Jamie Shaw! NOTES: First read through - January 31, 2015 Second read through - January 30, 2017 - Just reread this one so I could read my ARC of book 4, HAVOC, and loved it just as much the second time around as I did the first! Fantastic read and Adam Everest is still super, SUPER hot! :)

I’m totally in the rockstar mood. This hit the spot. I actually read this with a friend, so as we read, we chatted. One of the things that we talked about was that this book could have benefited from being a dual POV. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this book. I liked Rowan and I liked Adam. The way that Adam and Rowan became friends, even when he didn’t know that she was Peach, that just worked for me. I also thought Adam’s friends/band mates were great. I like their banter with Rowan, and how they welcomed her. I can’t say I’m really excited to read about Joel next. The only impression he made on me was that he snores like crazy.

4.5 stars Some of the best books I've read have been because of friends' recommendations. I hadn't even heard of new author Jamie Shaw until she showed up on the list of Apollycon authors. Then, my bestie Jen read her debut book Mayhem, and started talking to me about how much she loved it. Honestly, all I needed to hear was three words, and I was sold - rockers and new adult. Jen's endorsement just made it a sure thing. Rowan thought she was doing everything right. She was getting ready to start her freshman year at college. She was living in an apartment with her long-time boyfriend who had promised her the world. Then one night her crazy BFF Dee talks her into going to a local concert where everything gets turned upside down. Or, maybe everything goes right for once - it all depends on how Rowan chooses to look at things. Rowan is a unique character. She's only 18 and just starting college. She's been with the same guy for three years and barely gotten to second base with him (his choice, not hers). She seems to have led a pretty sheltered life, not entirely of her own choosing. She thought she was making the choices she needed to in order to be happy and obtain her life goals and all that stuff. Then, one night, absolutely everything changes for her. And, rather than try anything she could to get that vision back, as I initially thought she might, Rowan moves forward trying to make a new plan for her life. Rowan has this pretty cool connection with rocker and quasi-celebrity Adam Everest. And, she just so happens to meet him the night she finds out her douchebag boyfriend has been cheating on her. Adam doesn't learn her name that night. He only knows that she wasn't just another groupie. And she's the only girl to ever turn him down. That makes her... real. And so much more interesting than all those brainless twits that only want Adam for his money and power. Rowan and Adam have such a sweet relationship. They are genuinely friends, and I don't think that's something that Adam has any of with females. Their times together the weekend that she has to tutor Adam on his tour bus were some of my favorite parts of the book. They were goofy and snarky and real with each other. Rowan seems to fit in so well with all the band members. She becomes kind of like an honorary little sister to all of them (except Adam, of course), and they step up to protect her and have her back more than once. Every time they all did that, I fell completely in love with each one of them. Eventually, Rowan and Adam have to return to the real world and deal with the fall-out of all their decisions. Adam has to go back to French class. Rowan has to deal with her ex once and for all. And Rowan and Adam have to come to a place that they can live with, whether that's keeping things in the friend zone, or going outside of it, where we all know they'd be great. Through all of it, Rowan's two friends Dee and Leti are her sounding board, just like Shawn, one of Adam's bandmates, is his. Things are set up nicely for Riot, book two in the series, which will focus on Dee and another band member, Joel. I look forward to reading about them, not only because their relationship intrigues me, but because I know it means we'll see a lot more of Rowan and Adam. The only thing I think Mayhem was lacking was Adam's POV. He was sort of hard to figure out for awhile, and I would've loved to have known what was happening in his head and in his world when Rowan wasn't around. When Adam was surrounded by groupies, there were times I thought he loved it and times I thought he hated it. Getting his take on his life, such as it is, and especially on Rowan and what he thought about her when he first met her and gave her the nickname "Peach," would've been so fun. Maybe we readers can talk Jamie into a few bonus scenes sometime, hm? For sure, Jamie Shaw is on my radar now. Mayhem was a quick and fun read, with not a lot of drama or angst or sweaty sex. It was light and just what I needed after a string of pretty heavy books. I can't wait to get my hands on Riot!

Rating: 2.5 bumped down because Aila frowns at slut-shaming. (Hey, that rhymed!) I won this book in a giveaway by the author! Thanks, Jamie Shaw! Like always, this is an honest review with my honest opinions. I'm not even going to share the quotes that have to do with "sluts" or "whores" or "hoes" or "prostitutes" in this book. There would be too many to count, I don't have the time, and from the synonyms you can gather in the beginning of this paragraph you can probably imagine how many times it Rating: 2.5 bumped down because Aila frowns at slut-shaming. There would be too many to count, I don't have the time, and from the synonyms you can gather in the beginning of this paragraph you can probably imagine how many times it's mentioned. The worst part, I think, was that while the main character was being so rude to the other girls in the book, her best friend, who had worst behaviors than all those girls, was never called out. Talk about double standards! And man oh man, the slut-shaming doesn't stop there. "I groan and close my textbook, letting my forehead fall against it. Adam. He's such a man-whore. I almost slept with a man-whore. A freaking man-whore." SORRY I DIDN'T HEAR "MAN-WHORE" THE FIRST TIME. Anyway, that bothered me throughout the book. The next thing that bothered me? The main character, "Adam freaking Everest" is soooo yuck. lol. "He's dressed in midnight-black jeans - which, uncharacteristically, aren't torn up at the knees - and a long pale yellow band T-shirt with black lettering and designs. His hands always draw my attention, decorated with bulky rings and black nail polish, and framed by layers and layers of stringy leather bracelets. A lon wallet chain hangs from his jeans, swinging as he walks to his seat at the front." Omigod we're either in 2009, or we're talking about one of those goth kids who walk down the hallways at my school with music blasting from speakers in their pockets. I'm all for bad-boy-rock-band-members, but black nail polish? Please no. But in the end, it's the inside that counts, right? The couple was cute together, despite not showing "friend-like" attributes while they were "friends." (Note the quotations.) Definitely check this out if you're into cheesy romances where you can ignore slut-shaming. I won't be checking out the books about the other band members because if I here "Hoes-r-us" one more time...

This is Jamie Shaws debut novel, and yes I really liked it. While it is suppose to be a rock star read and yes Adam is an up and coming rock star but to me this was a coming of age for the main characters.I thought the other characters in the book were extremely great as well. I laughed at alot of their interaction.
