Feeding the Vampire Through good luck and healthy cowardice, Misty has survived the earthquakes that have torn the world apart, but has no skills to speak of. Or so she thinks. She does have blood, and someone must feed the vampire who has offered his protection and strength in exchange for sustenance. Feeding Ivan is a priority, and Misty finally serves a purpose. But when she awakens tied to his bed, an unwilling gift to Ivan from the townspeople, she discovers he has hungers other than blood. Hungers he expects her to satisfy in the most carnal manner. Under his seductive persuasion Misty discovers she has the power to sustain Ivan in all ways, while experiencing unspeakable pleasure herself. Hunting the Siren A vampire queen grown powerful with age, Imogen has protected her band of nightriders through the centuries. When refugee vampires from earthquake-shattered Europe seek shelter and sustenance, she's honor-bound to feed them, by any means necessary. When her lieutenants dump the vengeful human man Kasar at her feet, Imogen succumbs to his masculine vitality and her overwhelming hunger for his blood--and his body.Kasar has survived the breaking of the world, only to discover the vampire queen has slaughtered his sister and her unborn child. With the last of his bloodline dead, only his desire for vengeance keeps Kasar alive. He imagines he can pretend to succumb to Imogen's seduction--not that he has much of a choice, chained as he is to the foot of her bed--and bide his time until he has an opportunity to kill her. The passion he finds in her arms is unexpected, and impossible to resist. But this haven of desire and satiation could easily destroy them both.

2 stars Blood Currency have 2 stories, Feeding the Vampire and Hunting the Siren. Both have previously published by Ellora Cave and I think some of earlier work by Jeffe Kennedy, for I think both stories lack some punches. Feeding the Vampire - 1 star When I see my e-reader I notice that this one have 2 chapter and I'll be like..."the heck?". Idk why the rating for this novelette when it once published by EC was high (5 stars, really??). Idk why the rating for this novelette when it once published by EC was high (5 stars, really??). Basically the story just how the heroine almost raped by the hero, all in the disguise of "seduction" and how she's finally "willing. Pffttt. If a stranger tied me to the bedpost without my consent, I'll screaming and kicking. Lack of world building, lack of development as well. A disappointing quick read :/ Hunting the Siren - 2,5 stars At least, compared to the previous novelette, this novella indeed have plot. Of course since its have more than 6 chapters, so there's story, character development (even maybe too fast) and world building. The post apocalypse setting work well compared to Feeding the Vampire. Its have angst and both h/H have more personality, more character driven rather than make their relationship just a merely quick tumble. Even though, the ending was rushed and how the hero accept the heroine after day before he want to kill her and now he want to serve her is beyond me. Maybe because the magic of her vagina :P. Conclusion? Just a so so antho from Kennedy. I prefer her Twelve Kingdoms series in the term of story and development. Even this anthology titled as erotic horror, sadly the steamy factor can't help how the first novelette is soo mediocre ;(. The second is good tho, but well...still not enough.

2 shorts Feeding the Vampire. Short and ... well, not sweet, but sexy. Kinky. Basically vampire erotica. Hunting the Siren. Slightly longer, but equally sexy. Would have made an interesting novella. The first short is M/f, the second is F/m. Note: I understand these were among the author’s earliest works.
