Sheriff Rhett Cooper is left heartbroken when Katherine leaves town and everything is telling him that Katherine doesn't know what she is really getting into. When Katherine arrives back in town to attend to her ill father, Clarence, will Rhett be able to forgive Katherine? Will Nathan allow Katherine to go without a fight? Will Rhett be able to protect Katherine and show her how much he truly cares about her? I enjoyed this book and found it a little different than Tucker's Justice as we didn't see or know what the chemistry was between Rhett and Katherine at the beginning of the book when she took off with Nathan. We knew that Rhett was heartbroken but never knew how Katherine felt or how she could leave him so easily. So that being said I initially really liked Rhett and wasn't sure how I felt about Katherine. When Katherine arrives back in town and we learn what has happened with her my heart went out to her and I gave her credit for doing what she could to survive. It was clear how she felt about Rhett and how much of a mistake she made. She was well aware of it too and just wanted to come home. I loved how much Rhett wanted to protect Katherine and it was clear how quickly he forgave her as he was in love with her and knew that she went through her own hell. I loved how much the townspeople rallied around Katherine and Rhett and the things that they did to Nathan. It was clear what kind of man he was and the ending was perfect justice for him. There were so many characters in the book that helped make Nathan's life a living hell and made a great story for the reader! I loved the nightmare scene at the hotel! Great book! Reviewed for KFA

What happened? I was waiting for this book because I loved the first one. But what happened? It was very different from the first. First and foremost being that when the book began, the h was already seeing the H, so we didn't really get to experience their relationship. This was very different in the sense that I feel like the book didn't focus on the H and h, but rather the villain, and everyone's revenge on him. I still like maggie carpenter tho. I won't hold this against her.

The story is good but the colloquialisms used by the town folk really detract from the story and slows down the storytelling (in my opinion). The plot to bring justice to the "snake-oil salesman" is multi-tiered and well executed even though it was pretty farfetched. Through the story you could see Rhett's love for Katherine and his caring for the people of his town. Rhett's Revenge is book two of the Wild Cowboys Series. I love this book as much as I do "Tucker's Justice". It is a gread addition to the series. Rhett and Katherine are very likeable characters and the dog is adorable. I liked it that Katherine knew what she wanted and went for it - even if Rhett would put her over his knee. There are some twists and turns in the story and I really appreciated that it is a story that is not predictable right from the beginning. While I enjoyed the silly and over the top schemes that the characters came up with, I was too distracted with how stupid the characters were to truly enjoy the story. Nate was supposed to be this smart villan who was extremely charismatic, but he seemed more like a corny cartoon villan. There is a difference in writing about women who are naive and women who are dumb. The women of this town just don't seem to have any brains at all. This One Tops The Charts!!! Rhett Cooper, deputy sheriff of Clarenceville, CA. had been seeing Katherine Foster for about eighteen months. Katherine is the daughter of the town's leading citizen, Clarence Foster, son of the town's founding father. Rhett and Katherine had kissed and he had even taken her over his knee a time or two and spanked her drawers when she needed it. They had an understanding, according to everyone. And then, Nathan Johnson came into town in his elegant, expensive coach; wearing clothes that could be described the same way, speaking in a manner that was also awe inspiring. It didn't take long for twenty-one year old Katherine to find herself having lunch in the hotel dining room with the dapper Nathan Johnson, listening excitedly to him tell her about his exciting life in his elegant estate overlooking the San Francisco bay, the parties and balls and theaters he attended, and fine restaurants in which he dined. Before she knew it, the wealthy, sophisticated businessman invited her to return with him to San Francisco. She responded that she'd love to, not realizing that deputy Rhett Cooper was standing behind her and had heard their conversation. He was furious that she would agree to go away with a stranger, and he thought she was his girl. Needless to say, he takes her out of the hotel over his shoulder, kicking and screaming all the way to the sheriff's office, where he spanks her bare bottom to try to make her see how foolish she is being. You will not believe, but be intrigued by the evil Nathan Johnson is capable of ! You also will be amazed by the ingenious strategy that is compiled by not only the leading ladies of this book to execute their own justice, but also how Rhett gets his revenge. The characters are lovable, from the townspeople of Clarenceville to the staff of the dastardly Nathan's vast San Francisco estate. I couldn't put this book down from start to finish. I loved it!!! Can't wait for Wild West Cowboys Book Three!!!!!! I recommend this book to anyone who's ever had a conversation with a smooth talking, lying, manipulative person who attempted to turn their head with the lure of...anything appealing.

BEATING THE CON MAN I enjoyed this mystery suspense story that keeps the pages turning as the elaborate schemes unfold. There is a great cast of characters that all interplay in this mystery. Greed, scheming, a smooth talker, lies, deceit, clever ploys, and teamwork add to this tale. Flattery from a handsome and wealthy man comes at a high price when his true colors start showing, but for one young woman, it nearly cost the lives of many people. Flattery from a handsome and wealthy man comes at a high price when his true colors start showing, but for one young woman, it nearly cost the lives of many people. Katherine Foster and Rhett Cooper had been a couple for more than a year when she falls under the spell of a smooth talker, Nathan Johnson. Sneaking around, private dinners and promises of a better future lure Katherine into his web of deceit. Running away with him to San Francisco comes at a high price when reality sets in, but now she is trapped, and not sure how to go back home. A letter stated her father is on his deathbed will bring her home, but her health has taken a turn for the worse. The plot is full of regrets, remorse, revenge, and retribution. Katherine must get back to her father, and she must escape the evil Nate Johnson and she hopes Rhett will help her. Rhett is still in love with her, even after her leaving with Nate. In spite of her foolishness in leaving, she still had a head on her shoulders to try and protect herself from Nate, and with the help of her ladies maid, Sally, she learned some valuable tricks to thwart Nate. The story is slow to reveal the full details of this mystery, keeping the reader fully engaged as new details of how Nate swindles influential people. Will Nate get his comeuppance or will this slimy snake escape once again and find new victims? The story is entertaining, full of creativity, and fun to see how the people of Clarenceville work together as a team. The passion between Rhett and Katherine has a steamy chemistry that comes alive on the pages, with several punishments, and explicit sex scenes. Disclosure: I was provided with an e-copy of this book and voluntarily provided a review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.

This was not my favorite book by this author, but it was still enjoyable to read. Katherine has been deceived into heading west with Nathan, a man whose main goal is to use and abuse innocent young women. Rhett is in love with Katherine and determined to get her away from Nathan. The romance between Rhett and Katherine is sweet with a little spice, and makes for a very good story. The elaborate scheme to get back at Nathan is somewhat overdone and takes away from the story. The book is a good read I enjoyed it and It's written well and with a great flare. The plot of bringing to justice the "snake-oil salesman" is well executed even though at times I found it rather far-fetched and a bit slow.
