3.5 stars! I enjoyed the overall concept of the book once I moved past a couple of issues that I had. Started off really good and then there was a scene with Chase and another woman who he had been casually seeing. I could understand that this happened on the day he had met Jordan but could have really done without the description of the sex scene. Just not my thing - I find it hard to get into the mindset of the couple (especially in a shorter story) when the story is interrupted by a scene with 3.5 stars! If it doesn't bother you then this story will be great for you! The only other issue I had was once I got into the story I found it ended kind of abruptly. Would have loved to see where the relationship with Jordan and Chase went! This was my first book by this author but will definitely give her another try.

I liked the story but just when it started getting good it just ended abruptly. WTH?? I am left with so many unanswered questions.

This had every potential of being a much better book than it was because it was written well with characters that had big stories to tell. Where it failed me was how it wrapped up so quickly. The dull son of his mother's new husband was foreshadowed but perhaps, Chase could of had more clues to give us when he was exposed to him at various encounters to where we were anticipating Axel revealed...or Jordon could of been putting pieces together or had a city encounter of Axel from a distance. The way the author has this...it goes all goes down in the time of the wedding....seeing him and Chases reaction...so maybe a half hour. More details on Cecil would of gone a long way to completing this story...it felt fragmented. An epilogue would of been a nice wrap up...how did Chase's mother and stepfather react? Why had Cecil been so cleaned up? Sorry for so many spoilers but I really liked the potential and you will too.

This is a complex and compelling read by Kylie Walker. There is a lot of angst as well as sexual tension and heat along with a second chance at love for the main characters, Chase and Jordan. There is a lot of angst as well as sexual tension and heat along with a second chance at love for the main characters, Chase and Jordan. Jordan Price is recovering after suffering horrific abuse from an ex-boyfriend and is just now getting her life together. 6 years after the fact, her life is just now back on track and at a job interview, she meets Chase Louis, the CEO, of the job she is interviewing for and the electricity is super-hot between them. She feels the chemistry but she just wants to remain professional and when she gets the job, she wants to keep things on the up and up so her co workers do not think she got the job on her “back”. Now Chase’s story is just as interesting and dark. He spent time behind bars for something he didn’t do and there is a reason for why he didn’t speak up on who did. He served the time and is now running his father’s company and is the CEO. When he sees/meets Jordan, his body comes alive in a way it hadn’t for a woman before. Something about her clicks with him and soon , with them working together, they start a romance. There is this angst from the past and they both have secrets from their past that they try to hide but soon the past comes up and comes into play in a big way. Twists and turns in many ways. I liked this story even though it ended sort of abruptly. I would have liked to seen how Chase and Jordan’s life progressed in some sort of epilogue. Other tham that, this was a good romance story. My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

I was excited to read this one after reading the synopsis but was a little disappointed that it wasn't longer. It is a great story about second change at love for both Chase and Jordan. And six years later she is headed to an interview for her dream job. When she meets Chase Louis, the CEO, the electricity between them is off the charts. She wants to stay professional and not have coworkers thinking she got the job by sleeping with the boss. Chase Louis spent 10 years of his life behind bars for a crime he didn't commit but he can't tell anyone the truth. He has served his time and is now running his fathers company when he decides he is going to interview the photographer for a new ad campaign. When Jordan Price walks into his office, he can't help the way his body reacts to her. He wants to get to know her on a more personal level. Will Jordan give in to the attraction and just feel? Will they both be able to expose their past to each other without scaring the other away? Maybe they will be able to help each other heal from their past. As I said this story was great but I want more to see how the future works out for Chase and Jordan. Also included is the first book of Deceived, it is a romantic suspense and I read that series before and it is great too. **A free copy provided by the author and this is my honest review**

This isn’t just a second chance at love for Jordan, this is a second chance at life. This book grips you from the heartbreaking prologue and from then on, you won’t want to put it down. She gets an interview through a friend of a friend and meets the man who could change her life. Chase is not only the CEO of the company she’s applying to work for, but he’s gorgeous, charming, wealthy and smart. The chemistry between Chase and Jordan from the moment they meet is electric and the sexual tension is palpable from the first handshake. Jordan hasn’t been with a man for six years and Chase can barely make it 6 hours without a woman, but for Jordan, he’s willing to wait. Jordan tries to keep her distance, but the pull between them is too strong to resist. Can Jordan trust Chase enough to confide in him? Will he stay with her once he knows what she’s been through? When Chase’s past catches up with him, will Jordan be able to trust her instincts and still feel safe with Chase, regardless of his alleged history? Very hot, sexy, quick romance. The secrets and the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. No cliffhanger. Happily ever after. Standalone. Possible triggers: domestic violence (graphic descriptions in the prologue) The version I read finished around the 50% mark on the Kindle. Free bonus book was included following the end of Chase.

When her roommate and his ex are smiling and happy in the car with Chase and Jordan, you know something is up. Then a text message comes over on Chase's phone. When Jordan doesn't take the bait and look, her friend looks. It is naked pictures of Chase's ex stating they aren't exes but instead admitting they had sex the night before. Jordan takes the pictures and the text at face value and runs to the bathroom to vomit. And who is there to pick up the pieces? Why her roommate who is in love with her Thomas.

I absolutely loved this book May have trigger warnings, dv. As a survivor I loved this book, the healing and the pain turned into a loving romance with two people who understand the affects of domestic violence. Chase couldn't have a bigger heart and Jordan so lucky to have landed his love and trust. You'll love this book just as much as I did give it a chance. I'm hoping there is sequels. Meh.. Nothing special IMO. Chase ends at 56%. The book is more telling than showing. Majority the story switches between third person narration and the inner thoughts of the main characters. It makes for a slow, and kind of dull, read. It's a bad boy romance, so I had high hopes for Chase. Unfortunately, this fell flat for me. There were some good moments, but this is a one time read. 3.5 stars. I would have given it a good 5 stars but I didn't really like how the story ended. I love how it started, I love the characters, and I would have loved reading and seeing more. I was expecting more from the Axel confrontation, I actually looked forward to it the entire time. But then, it ended so easily. Abruptly. I was also expecting some bitchy confrontation from some Samantha conflict. I wanted to know Nat's and Lauren's reaction after all the Axel-Jordan-Chase fiasco. And I was ki 3.5 stars. *3.5 stars* It was a cute and sexy romance. Pretty light but also dealing with some heavier topics such as abusive relationships. It was very fast-paced, even too much for my taste, but it was well-rounded and nothing was left unsaid and unexplained, which I like. It was okay, but pretty bland. I would recommend it as a lighter weekend read.

Heartfelt story Jordan and Chase share similar backgrounds that seemed to make their connection that much stronger. Jordan nearly died at the hands of an abuser and Chase watched his mother be abused by his father for most of his life. Together, they find strength and love that makes their future stronger than they ever imagined.

Short read Enjoyed the book but was dissapointed at how short it was. I really enjoy her writing style but any sexual parts in the books seem to be mostly the same instant desire and can't keep there hands off eachother. The moral is never judge a book by it's cover. Looks can be deceiving. Jordan and Chase make a gorgeous couple. Her ex turns up several years later. He looks like a respectable member of society. What a joke. Chase turns out to be a wonderful, tender and caring person. Just who Jordan needs. The moral is never judge a book by it's cover. Looks can be deceiving. Chase is a quick, entertaining read. Warning: it could trigger you if you are a survivor of domestic abuse. Having said that the opening scene is fantastic; dark, raw, brutal. When she lands a dream job for a new car campaign, it moves her one step closer to being the confident, strong woman she wants to be. Her new employer is CEO Chase Louis. He's hot, smart, powerful and their attraction is instant. Both characters are well developed and their backstories are complex. Both were likable, however I did have an issue with Chase and Samantha. I realize that he was with Samantha before ever meeting Kylie, but the in-depth description of their sex scene did nothing to make me believe Chase's feelings for Kylie were more than lust. I liked the overall story, but felt like it was just getting started. The book was a bit rushed. Insta-lust, insta-feelings?, insta-ending. I would have liked for their relationship to build up a little more. A two week time frame for a book doesn't give you much story-tellling time. The writing was good; I only wish there had been more.
