Louise defines an affirmation as: “Every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation.” Louise’s words speak to our souls and offer gentle loving guidance as how we should talk to ourselves on a daily basis, replacing our self defeating thoughts with new patterns of better serving beliefs as it relates to health, fear, critical thinking, addictions, forgiveness, work, money and prosperity, friends, love and intimacy and aging. Each chapter is eloquently laid out and begins with a checklist of sometimes all too familiar negative statements that we say to ourselves, probably without much thought, which is why she wants us to begin to identify the way we think about ourselves so that we can begin the healing process. Why does everyone else have money? I have as much money as I can accept. She then ends each chapter with a Treatment, which is a longer more detailed and beautifully flowing affirmation. You cannot help but feel the shift in energy when you are done with each chapter. Her style is well thought out, organized and easy to follow. Each chapter is methodical in its delivery of the information and a perfect find for the newbie to affirmations or the seeker who would like to expand their practice. The book come with an enclosed CD to listen to in the car or whenever you feel like you need a shift from negative to positive. If you have ever been skeptical or thought “affirmations don’t work”, well Louise would say to you that that is an affirmation and one that may not be serving your highest good.     I have to say I was a little sceptical of this book at first, worried that it might turn out to be all Unicorns and rainbow dust....but it is actually a good book for helping you to identify your negative and unhelpful thinking patters and substituting them with the kind of positive affirmations that can eradicate the crippling effects of self sabotage. I have found this book (and CD) to be both calming and helpful, give it a go its only 24 bucks.

    It was alright. I thought there were far too many exercises for the few pages of each chapter, which made me not want to do them. I also thought there wasn't enough wording to backup her thoughts and theories. Now I've read it, I'm going to try and reread the book and do the exercises.     A simplistic book that includes the use of affirmations. Affirmations were catapulted into use by the author Louise Hay. Your brain is the strongest muscle you have you in your body - by making a simple adjustment of a few words a day changes not only your life but others who engage with you.
