The stories contained in this Christmas book are no walk through the park, light hearted fairy tales! They are the most twisted horror I have ever read for a Christmas book! But it sure was fun and I loved all the crazy, demented stories contained within. I also have found some new horror authors to explore. Favorite stories include: Windigo, Chompers, With These Hands, Last Minute, Away In A Mangler, Ghosts of Christmas Past, and Satan's Little Helper. Giving this one four stars for giving me " The stories contained in this Christmas book are no walk through the park, light hearted fairy tales! Bah!Humbug! Is first of all a charity anthology. Second, it's a wide-ranging collection which is not anti-Christmas but beyond, above, and below Christmas. Some of the stories are subtle horror, some really cross boundaries (and violate taboos). So the queasy of stomach and easily sensitive can just gift it (helping charity), and those who enjoy extreme horror and boundary jumping, come on in. Bah!Humbug! Is first of all a charity anthology. A delightful seasonal selection of stories, perfect for reading aloud to your family before a roaring fire on a cold winters night. ...Yeah..you know this isn't true in the slightest. An excellent collection of grim and disturbing tales from some of your favourite authors. Highly recommended. Horror all the way... oh, what fun it is to..... The reason I rate this a 3/5 is inconsistency. Like many anthologies, there are excellent stories, ones that make you say “meh” (usually the ending is a buzz kill), and those that just don’t belong. I guess the other reason is that I read “Matt Shaw’s Masters of Horror (MOH)” anthology not long ago and was expecting great things from many of the same authors. The good news is that this anthology reinforced which authors I should seek out, and allow Horror all the way... oh, what fun it is to..... The reason I rate this a 3/5 is inconsistency. I guess the other reason is that I read “Matt Shaw’s Masters of Horror (MOH)” anthology not long ago and was expecting great things from many of the same authors. The good news is that this anthology reinforced which authors I should seek out, and allowed me to uncover some new gems. AUTHORS AND WORK WORTH READING: 1. Terry M West (cute poem with a great twist) 2. Kit Power-Christmas Cracker (Kit wrote one of my favourite stories in MOH. In this anthology, he creates another gem. Bang! Bang! Pop! What I really want to know is who put the explosives in the crackers?) 3. Wrath James White- The Last Cabbage Patch Doll (Parents still buy those dolls? This is a very visceral story that totally works as a POEM) 4. David Owain Hughes- Little Shits (okay... you just have to read this because of the title. David is a new author to me and he wrote a story you won’t soon forget because it’s just fu_ _ ed. Extreme horror amplified by the fact that we are discussing children.... kinda makes you wonder if he has any of his own.....wow!) 5. Jaime Johnesee- Neighborly (Another gem from a MOH alumni. Btw.... I would murder Steve, too.) 6. JR Park- Christmas Wrath (Park wrote Mary in MOH and it was POV excellence. Christmas Wrath was one of my favourite stories.....What happens to bad children is much worse than any terror they can wrought.... unless we are talking about my kids...lol) 7. Duncan P Bradshaw-Last Minute (Hilarious, unique story. I just adored this tale. It’s wild with dark humour.) 8. Thomas S Flowers-Happiness, USA (Unknown author with a great story....really gave you pause. Made you think about human nature and how you reap what you sow.) 9. Mark Cassell- Away in a Mangler (Another unknown author with an excellent story. Completely unique and striking in its content.) 10. Jack Rollins- Ghosts of Christmas Past (This was a thrill. Very touching, climatic, and horrific) 11. Mason Sabre- Keep Me (Sabre’s story in MOH stood out the same way this one does. Disturbing and brutal in a very different way than other horror stories) 12. Matt Hickman- Satan’s Little Helper (Hickman has impressed me again. I absolutely adored this story. WILD!!! Creative, fu_ _ ed up, and awesome twist.) 13. Sam West- At Christmas, All Roads Lead Home. (This was brutal to say the least and a page turner. I love me some Sam West.) GOOD STORIES= POOR ENDING Jim Goforth had a story that was so much fun (like an 80s b action movie) but the ending was weak. Duncan Ralston, Charlotte Bond, and Michael Bray’s stories had the same issue. FINALLY I love me some Matt Shaw but this had to be an off day. Everyone is allowed to have one, especially when your stories are reminiscent of horror royalty.

What an awesome anthology of Christmas horror by some of the best horror authors today and all proceeds go to charity which is an extra bonus. This book is filled with an abundance of blood, gore, sex, violence and terror. It starts with an amazing poem by Terry M.West and keeps on giving from there.I did learn some lessons while reading these stories and some examples are: Always be careful what you wish for because some gifts you will definitely not like. Some Christmas crackers come with a huge BANG! Having lots of money doesn't always make your Christmas merry. You do not, I repeat DO NOT! want to make Santa's naughty list three times. Your love of Christmas should not be forced on others. Don't be a little sh**t and vandalize people's decorations just because you hate Christmas. Don't cheap out, look after your teeth. Too much information isn't always the best thing for you and lastly, Be kind to others and enjoy the holiday season.

Unfortunately I've lost interest in this. It's for a great charity but I'm not into Christmas horror at all, so I'm giving up. I have too much other stuff to read. Buy it and help out a good cause or maybe get if you like Christmas horror. Unfortunately I've lost interest in this. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Amazing! I'd give it 5 stars but that one story near the start nearly made me throw up. Was a bit too much for me. The rest were fantastic though, a particular favourite of mine was the "Suicide Santa" story. Amazing! I'd give it 5 stars but that one story near the start nearly made me throw up. Horror anthologies are and will always be my favorites. The variety of authors, old favorites as well as new to you are a blast to read. The problem is almost everyone and their momma think they can put a good one together. Some anthologies are like those half priced chocolate samplers your dunce of a boyfriend scrambled to get at the very last minute, the chocolate is bitter and lord knows what was in the middle of that last one you chipped a tooth on. Luckily and thankfully Matt Shaw is the boyfriend who gets the expensive chocolate, and on time so you know every bite (or story) is going to be fresh and scrumptious. Thank you Matt Shaw for doing what you do. The icing on the cake for me is that the proceeds go to charity. (As I understand it the charity changes on a monthly basis.)

'Alternative' Xmas Greetings Want something different to the usual lovey-dovey family Christmas fair? Look no further than this book! This will turn more than your mind to what some may really see the festive time of year as truly representing! To say I was surprised, and shocked, by the content...goes without saying. Did I enjoy this alternative festive read? You bet I did! A worthy addition to your collection. A worthy read for the 'dark side' of Xmas. Brutal, shocking and doesn't hold back. This is a wonderful holiday horror anthology! This book is solid from start to finish, without a single bad story in the whole bunch. I'm sure everyone will have their favorites, but for me, "Mental Elf" by Jim GoForth and "Chompers" by Duncan Ralston were particular standouts. All in all, a truly great collection! Bah! Humbug! Another Perspective I really enjoyed all the stories in this anthology. It definitely gives the reader another perspective about Christmas. I will be looking for stories from all the authors in the near future.

most stories I liked but some were more gory than I like.

One of the more decent story collections I've read. Some were good, some were just okay, and a couple were not good at all, but it was fun to read! One of the more decent story collections I've read. Some were good, some were just okay, and a couple were not good at all, but it was fun to read!
