A lovely small pamphlet about self-care. As a mom of two small children, self-care is not always at the top of my to-do list but it should be to maintain my own sanity and therefore my family's. This little guide had some techniques to calm down and focus along with needed reminders to make time for self-care. A lovely small pamphlet about self-care. A beautiful invitation to step into nurturing the extraordinary creation that is YOU! I love that this book isn't 396 pages long, making self-care seem overwhelmingly involved and impossible. Self-care shouldn't be difficult or time-consuming. The beauty of this little 40-page book is in its' simplicity, and in the heart of the author, which shines through on every page. This was a sweet, short book. It reminded me to have some "me" time, to stop and breathe every now and then. It also made me want to try out yoga. I'm glad I won this giveaway! 1 Star for the lack of a book It's not a book. By any stretch of any imagination- it is not a book. A pamphlet or newsletter that went awry, perhaps, but not a book. I started the book as I walked out of my parking garage and by the time I got to my 39th floor apartment my Kindle said that I was 69% done with the book. One 'chapter' said it had "1 min left in chapter" and I was on the first page of the chapter. ONE MINUTE CHAPTERS, people. $7.50 for a 54 page pamphlet. When something says, "Guide", in the title- I actually expect a book, not 54 pages. My bad for not checking the pages in the Amazon description. Lesson learned. 2-3 Stars for the gentleness of the message. I only wish she would have expounded a bit. The contents were sweet, kind snippets (using that word probably perfectly for the first time in my life, because snippets are the only description that fits) with a lot of support. The contents were like listening to your best, nicest, most supportive friend give you advice when you call them after a dreadful day, week, marriage, life. It is simple, accessible, not ground-breaking by any means, but a warm way to end a day.
