Seriously!!! This series keeps getting better and better, so much so that it remains one of my all time favorites, and my absolute fav from Lani Lynn Vale. Bowe we have met long ago at the beginning of the series and he has been a standing feature all throughout it, making small cameos where it’s been pointed out more than once by the previous heroines what a delicious catch he is with his smoking hot looks and his irresistible deep voice. Angie we meet on the previous book, Controlled Burn, were Seriously!!! Angie we meet on the previous book, Controlled Burn, were she played the mysterious not-so-effective assistant to July on her renovation business. Her hinted personality there couldn’t have been more different than the one that is revealed to us in this book, and I was beyond pleasant surprise. She is a fighter in every way Bowe came across her there, and was forever captivated. From that moment on he pursued her relentless, since something told she was the one for him. She made him feel things he needs felt before, and he wasn’t ashamed to acknowledge them. “It…you make me…I swear I feel things when I’m around you that are completely irrational. A paramedic should be able to put those feelings on hold, but I can’t. Something about you makes my heart beat faster.” The problem was that Angie’s life was a complicated one. Besides an huge abandonment issue cause by her father, her personal past love was the thing nightmares were made of, and to top it of, impossible to shut down forever. So, it’s no wander that when Bowe showed interest she ran for the hills, and rejected every single one of his advances for months. Bowe was NEARLY the perfect hero, and his sensible side and his lovable nature coupled with that sexy as hell package made it so, but I so wanted he hadn’t been detained by Angie’s pushing away – yes, she did it for far too much and too long, no doubt – and hadn’t giving up on pursuing her, and then the revelation and scene at 5%!!!! I wanted to scream!!! Really, If that scene/part wasn’t there I would have given the book the five stars it deserved, but that one page was enough for him to let me down ( smh at you Lani, you meanie! ) and take him some points down from the perfect man and best book boyfriend he could have conquered, because really he was up there with Tai, from Shock Advised – my LLV best book boyfriend and male main character perfection – , for all the rest of the book he was absolutely swoon worthy! If I could just let that one scene go… I really, really wish it wasn’t there. :( Anyway, don’t let me in any way spoil your Bowe high, because believe that piece of hot deliciousness is going to make you sigh and swoon! He’s just THAT good!!! So much so that Angie tried with all her might resist, but really even she knew she couldn’t resist THAT forever!!! LOL “If we do this,” I said, pressing a kiss to her lips. “I’m not leaving. I’m staying. Forever. You literally won’t be able to get rid of me. I’ll move in here permanently. Let my lease go. Set up shop. Seriously…I’m yours.” Oh, and did I forget to mention his scorchingly HOT bedroom skills???!!! Honestly, be prepared because Lani come up with all the guns for this man! Bowe should probably come with a warning! It really is the quiet ones we need to look out for! WOW *cue fanning myself* The man had fucking superpowers or something. He’d gone from timid rabbit to voracious bear in three seconds flat, and I couldn’t find one single complaint about it. “They’re freakin’ beautiful, because they are a part of you.” He stared into my eyes. “The story behind them is ugly, but that’s a part of life. You have to sometimes go through ugly to get beautiful.” Not only that, but his hidden sensibility and bit of fragility made him impossible not to love as Angie soon found out, but it was seeing him with her baby girl Elise, to whom he instantly gave a part of his heart, that really sealed the deal. How could she not? Big sexy men with babies, who can resist them?! Specially one so in touch with his feelings and emotions! “I fucking love you. Every once in a while, I’m going to screw up. I’m going to piss you off and make you cry. I don’t mean to. I don’t want you to cry. But I will, because I’m a fucking human being. I’m not a machine. I have feelings. Put Out really was a fantastic and unforgettable story, and Angie, Bowe and Elise made go through all the feels! Of course we also had the usual deliciously thrilling and enticing Lani Lynn Vale moments, filled with suspense, romance, humor and plenty of steam! It gets you hooked from the start and keeps you begging for more! Yes, as you know I’m that greedy and can’t wait to see what comes next – yes, I’m looking at you Fatbaby, come to mama!!! “Jesus, Bowe,” I gasped, my hands going up under his arms to clutch his strong shoulders. “What are you doing to me?” He pulled back and looked me dead in the eyes, the only light shining was the full moon from outside. But it was enough. It was enough to see everything in his eyes all at once. “Loving you, Ang. Loving you.” I love you. I love you. I love you. I can’t say it enough that I love you. I love you more and more every day. I miss you when you’re not there. I miss you when you’re in the other freakin’ room. The beginning of reading promised a lot, but as the last books of the author were many loose ends. The motivation of the villains and what happened to them. I think everything is very up in the air. Missed something, but I can't really pinpoint what it is. And the hero communicating with his ex. I didn't like it. Heroin is also not very charismatic. I understand and sympathize with what she's faced in life, but she never captivated me. I finished reading without the good feeling of the first books of the author. But she's still one of my favorites and I will continue supporting her work.

I honestly cannot put a LLV book down once I start it. Put Out is another great example of Lani’s talent for great books. Bowe is an EMT, he is strong, sweet and unlucky in love. Angie is a woman with a sad history trying to make it on her own. When it comes to relationships neither have had it easy, but when these two are near each other their chemistry is combustible and sparks fly. Bowe is patient with Angie, but he lets her know when he feels she is ready he is taking her, no ifs, ands or buts. Along the way to their HEA they have to deal with Angie’s crazy, crazy, crazy ex-boyfriend and a few other issues that are handled satisfyingly. While some of the scenarios in LLV’s books may make you stretch your imagination a little, it’s well worth it and a perfect way to ignore the real world for a few hours. Put Out is a fast paced, sexy, funny, and emotional book! It’s one of Lani’s best yet, and that’s saying a lot considering her impressive back list of great books! I urge you to try Put Out by Lani Lynn Vale, once you read it you will run to purchase her back list! Review copy given for a voluntary review.

DNF (only read the sample) - spoilers - H is dating OW at the start and was about to masturbate to thoughts of her after a Skype call (ends up hearing her cheating on him before he gets started.) He had already met the h and was interested in her and said yes to dating OW to try to make h jealous and move on. No, thanks.

Enjoyable fast read. A strong romance is paired rather a rather weak conflict. I love the characters and their dialogue. So much humor and smexy times. My one wish is for Vale to either commit to the subplots or just leave them out. She often has multiple going in the story and gives just enough to infer they have a specific purpose to the story. Then they either fade to nothing or are resolved with no real intent.

Put Out is the fifth and final installment in Lani Lynn Vale’s Kilgore Fire series. I have loved every single book in this entire series, but I think this one was my favorite. Writing about every day, real-life heroes is something Vale does exceptionally well. Mingling her outrageous sense of humor with a whole lot of heat, she never fails to turn out a special romance. Bowe was such a great guy, the total package, and I’ve been anxiously waiting for his story. All he wanted was what his friends Put Out is the fifth and final installment in Lani Lynn Vale’s Kilgore Fire series. All he wanted was what his friends all had: a woman and the life they shared together. It’s just that he was looking in all the wrong places considering how he kept getting shot down. He doggedly pursued Angie, hoping for a chance or a sign, and her constant rejection and dismissals were wearing on him. Angie is very distrustful of men, having learned at an early age from her father how easily women—even daughters—can be left behind. The way her father just walked away from her mother, sister and Angie was unspeakably horrible. Vale channeled real-life emotion into this part of the plot, and I felt the pain of a forgotten, left-behind daughter in Angie. Despite her trust issues, Angie can’t help the feelings she has for Bowe, but she sure as heck hides them. The truth is that she’s scared, and with good reason, too. Her psychotic ex taught her the remaining bad relationship lessons that her father missed. Lani always nails the writing of snarky, sassy heroines, and Angie is all of that. There is a suspenseful side plot going on here, as well. It was exciting and interesting, and I slipped into devour mode as it began to unfold, consuming this story anxiously to see what would happen next. Her unique sense of humor is on full display in this story, and it’s something that I genuinely look forward to whenever I crack open one of her books. Put Out was a fantastic ending to the Kilgore Fire series. Full of heat, heart and humor, Put Out by Lani Lynn Vale gets 5 smooches from me! ~ Danielle Palumbo

Like all of Ms. Vale’s books there is drama, suspense, action, alpha males and sassy females. Put Out does not lack in any department and is one that I not only will be reading again very soon, but one that I highly recommend as well.

One aspect of Lani Lynn Vale’s stories that I love is her portrayal of realistically flawed heroes and heroines. Her characters struggle with issues that readers can empathize with and connect to in a way that helps them see they’re not only in the shitty things that can happen in life. And, regardless of how frustrated we get with how her characters behave and the stupid decisions they make, we can’t help but understand the reasons behind those actions…the reasons behind the walls and attitudes One aspect of Lani Lynn Vale’s stories that I love is her portrayal of realistically flawed heroes and heroines. Her characters struggle with issues that readers can empathize with and connect to in a way that helps them see they’re not only in the shitty things that can happen in life. And, regardless of how frustrated we get with how her characters behave and the stupid decisions they make, we can’t help but understand the reasons behind those actions…the reasons behind the walls and attitudes they’ve taken due to a litany of broken promises and heartbreak. Angie Soco completely exasperated me at times because of her unwillingness to truly see who Bowe is and allow herself to take a chance with him even if it doesn’t work out. But as much as I wanted to knock some sense into her, her hesitancy is justified because the males in her past and current life, with the exception of her brother, have made her feel time and time again that she’s not good enough…that she’s not worth their time or their full commitment and those negative ideas have messed with her psyche and forced her to not put herself in the position to be taken for granted again. Bowe Tannenbaum’s doesn’t have much luck in love either; it seems every woman he pursues turns out to be everything but what he wants and needs in a partner, and he also can’t help compare those women to the one he truly wants – Angie. If there’s one thing that’s made clear throughout Put Out, it’s that Bowe is one hell of a persistent guy, and when he wants something…when he truly believes that what he could have with someone is worth all of the frustrations and roadblocks he encounters, there’s no stopping him from claiming what he wants, and Angie soon realizes that Bowe wants her for her and would willingly do anything to protect and love her as well as those who matter to her. Lani Lynn Vale consistently writes intriguing and complex books about characters who have everyday struggles just like everyone else and then she crafts those stories in a way that not only appeals to readers but also resonates with them due to the trials that Vale’s characters face. Then, when she adds a bit of drama and suspense as well as some steamy scenes to illustrate the hero and heroine’s feelings for each other, readers can’t help but get pulled into the story and anxiously anticipate the complications that will arise and the steps the main characters will take to ensure their happily ever after. 4 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

Put Out goes down in my book as Vale's third interracial story, the first two being Jack and Tai's stories (I am pretty sure they were both Native American). I love diversity in stories that I read whether it's in the characters backgrounds, race, or religion, so for Angie to be half black half Italian I think I found myself automatically loving Put Out . It just was something about Angie's curly hair and curves that had the black woman in me screaming 'Yes!' The beginning of Put Out by Lani Lynn Vale was somewhat slow. It was great to get the back story of both Angie and Bowe, as well as their baggage, but the story didn't pick up for me until Bowe temporarily lost his memory. From this point on I felt as if each page turned was composed of cracked glass. I only say that because the feeling and tone of the story was very fragile, in the back of your mind you knew that any little conflict that Angie and Bowe would have to face Angie would be the first one out the door. As I continued on in Put Out it sucks that my intuition was proved correct because I really wanted their story to be different. Another thing, Put Out didn't have the feel of a conclusion to the Kilgore Fire series, if anything it felt like a standalone that also acted like a prequel to Fatbaby's (Aaron's) story. Bottom line, Put Out was great way for Vale to end the Kilgore Fire series, it alone has given me hope that Vale's stories can still entertain me. I can't wait to dive into her Dixie Wardens Rejects MC series that starts with Fatbaby's story.

I don't need to tell you how Lani writes her male characters .. they are amazing leaving us star struck and breathless. Bowe is no different. Angie has been ousted by every man in her life .. her father included she doesn't think a happy ending is in her cards. Bowe has lost his mind if he thinks she is good enough for him and also thinking that he won't ever disappoint her ... yeah right. This is s really great don't accept failure to grab your happiness story. I loved seeing our old friends and loved finding more out about Bowe. You all know it's a keeper so click it up. You deserve some Bowen. PS don't you just want to top that hat back and see what's underneath? Great cover! Thank you for the ARC! Sorry to see this end but these men will not be forgotten! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

3 Unbelievable stars.........d:( * Unpopular Opinion Alert * Upon reading the dedication I was curious as to how this story would play out. I have to admit I'm disappointed. The dedication was so full of fire, passion and determination it was almost palpable and I wanted to see that damaged father/daughter relationship explored in the book. What I got was a sprinkling of a sentence here or a small paragraph there, but nothing that made sense. Clearly the dedication was heartfelt and personal and 3 Unbelievable stars.........d:( * Unpopular Opinion Alert * Upon reading the dedication I was curious as to how this story would play out. Clearly the dedication was heartfelt and personal and I'm not looking to pick it apart, I just would have liked it to have more of a focus than the crazy ex. And speaking of the crazy ex......that whole thing was just proof that anything can happen in Romancelandia. I'm not a reader with stringent rules; I like books with realistic characters and storylines, rom com's, dark reads and even ones full of whimsy that require me to stretch my imagination and suspend belief. This one, however, bypassed whimsical and went straight to absurd and contrived. LLV has always been an auto buy me but it seems like lately her characters and plotlines are becoming formulaic. Bowe was an alright hero but there was nothing that really made him memorable. On the other hand, I wasn't a fan of Angie; she was whiny, immature and her mouth engaged before her brain did. If I had to use one word to sum it all up........ disappointed......d:(

Fighter ***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review*** Lani has done this series and this book justice with the way she always draws a reader in and captivates them with her storytelling. Enter Bowe who not so lucky with the ladies but is one fine specimen who tends to go shy around women that he like and he wants Angie with a passion. After a fortunate incident (in my book anyway) all bet are off and Bowe makes it his mission to get the girl and his HEA. This book is filled with so many high and lows that it leaves your head spinning, don't forget about the action, suspense and chemistry that melts the pages of your kindle with every word written. I love this series and will be sad to see it end, which I hope never happens.

Another great story to add to our wonderful collection of Lani Lynn Vale books. Bowe & Angie's story had just the perfect amount of drama and suspense. Let me not forget to mention the steaming hot love scenes. One that comes to my mind would have to be when Bowe cannot contain himself any longer and must have a piece of Angie ASAP! Yes, Bowe is the teacher and Angie is the student. Need to know more, than I recommend you buy the book ASAP! As always catching glimpses of some of our favorite previous story characters is the best. Even better is learning what has been happening with Fatbaby! Yes, we must all remember Fatbaby. If you do not know who he is then I highly recommend you read the entire Kilgore Fire series, trust me you will enjoy it!

Can Lani Lynn Vale write a bad book, I don't think so. Put Out is not only a book with a scorching hot cover but a book with a fantastic and gripping storyline. This is Bowe's story and his determination to get the girl he wants but unfortunately the girl he wants is very distrustful of men and rightfully so. Angie has had bad experiences with men including her own father. There is suspense and drama that follow the couple to add even more depth and intrigue. However Bowe is the whole package so Can Lani Lynn Vale write a bad book, I don't think so. Put Out is not only a book with a scorching hot cover but a book with a fantastic and gripping storyline. Have to say, I liked the story. However, the way the book was written in a way that felt kind of disjointed or dare b'day haphazardly. It was almost like things were thrown in, in totally the wrong place, to fill in back stories.. then the drama that unfolded was beginning to feel like filler to get enough words in so it didn't come off as a short story. I absolutely love this series! What reader doesn't love a smokin' hot fire fighter?! Vale delivers yet another awesome read in the Kilgore Fire series. Once again, I was sucked in from the first chapter and could not put this one down. Are you ready to feel the burn? Grab your ereader, phone, kindle, nook, whatever you read on and get sucked into Bowe and Angie's story. Angie has not had an easy life. Grab your ereader, phone, kindle, nook, whatever you read on and get sucked into Bowe and Angie's story. Angie has not had an easy life. Her father left when she was a teen and he only makes his presence known when he needs something. Her mother did the best job she could in raising her, her younger sister and her older brother. Marrying the wrong guy was yet another mess up in her life. The only good thing she has going for her is her daughter, Elise and her work. With walls like Fort Knox built up around her, the last thing she needs is fire fighter Bowen "Bowe" Tannenbaum knocking her off kilter. But, Bowe is her weakness, she has to do whatever she can to keep him at a distance. That is until he comes to her rescue and suffers at the hands of her ex. Now, feeling guilty, she offers to help him regain his health. How long can Angie keep her distance from the one man that she only has eyes for? Bowe has had it with women. The hook ups, the meaningless sex and the games. Why he can't find one good woman that can keep his interest and that treats him right, is beyond him. There is one woman though, but she brushed him off so many times in the past that it would make any guy dizzy. Now, Angie, the girl that he tried so hard to pursue years ago is back in the picture and he will stop at nothing to make her his. When Angie's life is threatened, Bowe sees his chance to prove to her that he is the man for her. But when tragedy strikes their small town, Bowe finds himself at the forefront of Angie's anger. Can he find a way to get her to move past the blame she has put on him or will all he have left of her are the memories that they created not so long ago? I really loved this story. The characters are fairly well developed. There is plenty of frustration, I wanted to jump through my kindle and throttle Angie's ex and his family. I wanted to shake some sense into Bowe's parents as well, but I could understand to an extent their treatment of Angie. I loved how close Angie was to her siblings and the fact that they all helped each other out. I hated her father and his new family and all the heartache and headache that they caused. He ex, Troy was a complete nightmare and I would have loved to be the one to throw his ass in jail and lose the key. The secondary characters, Jack and Winter, were awesome. I loved the dynamic that they brought to the story. The chemistry between Bowe and Angie was smokin' hot. I loved that Angie had a dirty mouth. Far to often we read that it is just the hero's in the story that talk dirty, this wasn't the case with Angie. When it came to what she wanted from Bowe during sex, she wasn't afraid to voice her needs...I loved that about her. I loved how she was so strong and protective of those closest to her and although she was so broken and beaten down by her ex, she wasn't afraid to stand up to him. All the books in the series are standalones. So if Lani Lynn Vale is a new author to you, don't hesitate on picking this one up. Once you have read it, you will want to read the rest in the series. I cannot wait to see what is next in the Kilgore Fire series!

    Books Laid Bare

Lani Lynn Vale is probably the only author that I will actually stop reading whatever I currently on my kindle to start her book for. Just knowing that I have one of her books sitting on my e-reader and not actually reading it is just too much for me, I simply can’t cope! So when Put Out barrelled onto my screen, I was all set. The story is about Bowe and Angie and is another in the Kilgore Fire Series, if you haven’t read them yet…what the heck are you waiting for you are missing out big time! The story is about Bowe and Angie and is another in the Kilgore Fire Series, if you haven’t read them yet…what the heck are you waiting for you are missing out big time! I love each and every one of the guys in the department and their women are the perfect partners for them, so when it came to finding the right woman for Bowe, I had been wondering who Lani would have in store. Bowe knows who he wants, but so far, he hasn’t been able to do anything about it but considering his past and the fact that he has had a rough trot in the relationship department up until now, it was no surprise that initially we find him dating via the internet, that was right up until he saw something inadvertently that he shouldn’t have and let’s just say that, that relationship was over the minute he closed the laptop! Bowe wanted Angie, but her past is like a road map of how to get done over without even trying, she just seemed to have always been on the receiving end of some totally miserable human beings! Her father was a douche, her ex, well he was even worse, the guy was a compete lunatic but one with friends in very high places, it was as if he was Teflon coated…nothing stuck, not even when he attacked her. As you would expect the drama is ramped up as the book progresses but there is always a seamless layer of mystery running just beneath the surface of the story, neither of them get through the story unscathed, Bowe is injured and Angie feels responsible, even though it was nothing to do with her. From then on, they are thrown together and even when they hit their rough patch, in my heart I just knew that they were destined for the long haul. Bowe’s interaction with Angie’s daughter was delightful, it brought the biggest smile to my face, almost more than Bowe and Angie. I love the fact that the other guys in the team and present yet again, the series is just that, a series of interactions that might focus on a different couple each time but the never leaves the other guys out in the cold, they all pitch in and in my opinion that is what make this so great, it covers more than most and is totally immersive. I could witter on and wax lyrical for far longer than is actually acceptable, just because I love the books so much but I think you might have already got that message by now, so to sum it up… please read this, I promise you will not be disappointed.
