Not much suspense for me. After reading couple of books in this series, knew the serial murderer from the start. Almost ten months ago bought and started to read, but I was skipping many pages, now read every page. Rich British women being killed, abused wife, road rage and fiance with issues.

As with most of this awesome series, Prime Justice is a fast paced read which hooks you from the start! I read this book in a matter of hours and soon my #JusticeAddiction had its fix! Mel Comley always comes up with believeable yet interesting storylines that keep me turning the pages. Each of this series can easily be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading them in order…it is well worth it! Told in third person POV, we get to see the team under some pressure to solve two cases which initially do not seem connected. However, Lorne is convinced otherwise and masterfully pieces the puzzle together leaving the reader on a real high! On top of this, Lorne has to face a scary incident at home while also trying to deal with a malicious complaint from one badass mother….oh yes, I won’t spoil it….but if you read Twisted Justice you will know exactly who I am talking about! This series always leaves me wanting more…gagging for my next fix – I adore that Lorne’s fiery & feisty attitude is on its way back; that Charlie is really coming into her own; that Kate is returning to the team, leaving poor AJ to watch the baby….It is like a family…and I am thrilled to be a part of it! Mel Comley never disappoints with this series and I hope to see another book soon….not sure I can face #JusticeRehab….or that I want to! Do I recommend this book? ummmmm….Hell yeah!! Grab the whole series and overdose on #Justice!

Normally no matter how good a book is, at some point you want it to end. I didn't feel that way with this book and took my time reading it, as I usually read them in one sitting. A long time fan of the Justice series, there was something about this one that made me want to stay there with the characters and continue investigating, worrying and just enjoying the scenery. Prime kicks off with a vicious murder of a well-liked wealthy woman. You become involved with her family, the daughter who is planning her wedding. Your empathy will be pulled into play with the things she's experiencing. Lorne's investigation is immediately complicated by a complaint from a former criminal that could result in Lorne losing her job. Has she grown too soft over the years, content with her marriage and life, or just beaten down by the system? What happened to the feisty Lorne in early investigations? Well, if you liked her then--you're going to love her now! Women are being abducted, killed without reason, and the clues are non-existent. A good DI doesn't let anything stand in her way, not even a complaint that could cost her the job she loves. That's our Lorne. Loved the appearance of Patti, Carol, and Tony and Charlie. Waiting patiently for Book 15. I can highly recommend this fabulous book to mystery, suspense and thriller fans.

It’s hard to believe that there are now fourteen books in this series. It doesn’t feel that long a go since I picked up my first one. Lorne is very much in the thick of things again when a very charitable local lady is found brutally killed. Sadly it turns out not to be a one off. Not only does Lorne and her team have their current case they are working on, Lorne’s own reputation is at stake when a previous criminal (Claire Knight) is hell bent on getting her own back on Lorne. If you love a strong protagonist who loves her job and will do anything to get the bad guys as well as protecting her family, you will love this. Prime Justice is yet another fast paced story that readers are going to sail through. I always have to set some time aside from the out side world as I know when I pick up one of this authors books time just seems to pass effortlessly as I am so engrossed in the characters and story. Gripping stuff! My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

What can I say about this series that I haven't already? Since 2011, I have devoured each and every book, savouring every moment of the pleasure that reading them has given me. One thing that has happened over the course of the series though is how this author's writing has matured. Even though she is as prolific as she is, both with her solo efforts as well as collaborations with other authors, this volume has definitely not diluted the quality one little bit. I opened the book fully aware that I would not be available for the next several hours as I knew it would be one I could not put down. So, in this book, wealthy women are being abducted and murdered, in quite graphically gruesome ways. Lorne is especially worried about this case as these incidents are happening in her backyard so to speak. Bit close to home and all that. Coupled with this, Lorne also has to contend with an old adversary who definitely has a score to settle with her and tries to exact revenge by way of issuing a complaint against her. And then there's Charlie who is currently courting (love that word!) and her shenanigans. Not forgetting Carole and Tony, both of which feature well here. As with all this author's books, I simply devoured this one, reading start to finish in one sitting. It's not the longest book but it definitely contains all the usual you'd expect. Banter is, of course, excellent, other dialogue just as sharp, old, familiar faces are coming on nicely and new characters are very well described. True to form, plotting is brilliant although I do admit to guessing quite early on. I can never be sure with this author as she does tend to wrong foot me a lot, but I did get it right here - yay me! The story goes along at a fair lick too although there are a few quieter moments for reader-respite. Thankful for them I can tell you. So, all in all, another cracking book to add to Ms Comley's every increasing back catalogue. Can't wait for the next one.

I really don’t know how Mel Comley does it! She consistently comes up with new and gripping storylines and I feel like Lorne Warner is now a dear friend that I am following through the ups and downs of her life, instead of a fictional character. But when another local resident is also abducted, Lorne comes to realise there is a seriel offender on the loose. Can she solve the crime before the body count increases? There is also a nod to previous books with the brief appearance of Sally Parker as there’s some bad news for Lorne regarding a previous case. Yes, that lovely lady Claire Knight won’t go down without a fight and is back to cause some trouble, even from behind bars. I do love a good baddie but have to admit that after reading Prime Justice, Lorne and Claire probably have a lot more in common than Lorne would like to admit. A case involving Charlie and her boyfriend makes Lorne VERY protective so heaven help anyone who messes with her family! Remind you of anyone? Once I sat down to read this there was no way I was moving till it was finished. It held my attention 100% from start to finish with plenty of shocking twists along the way. A great addition to this popular series. I received my review copy of Prime Justice from the author.

This is the 14th installment of this series and author Mel Comley has yet again provided her readers with an interesting and (more importantly for me,) original story line. The plot is pacy and I enjoyed the mix of murder investigations and the complaint made against Lorne by someone who also features in an earlier book (I won't say who.) This is an excellent crime thriller that can be read as a stand alone - but why would you want to miss out on the previous 13 novels?! Love The Justice series and hearing more about Lorne. The series never fails to disappoint and this latest instalment met all my expectations. The description of the murder of a wealthy lady in a country lane walking her dog will stay with me for a long time. Such is the authors writing skill that you feel you are there in the lane watching the crime unfold, in all its gory detail. This book Love The Justice series and hearing more about Lorne. I couldn't be more happier than to start the new year back on my #JusticeJourney. As always, Lorne is tough, decisive and has that bite about her, ensuring she gets results. It's been a while since Mel Comley has written a Justice novel and being one of my favourite series, I've been patiently waiting for the next one. From the brief exchange, we know that she knew her killer. Lorne knew the victim too and without wasting any time she takes on board responsibility to solve the case. Soon after, in the same vicinity, another woman is abducted while walking her dog. Are the two cases linked? Were the two crimes committed by the same person? If yes, why did they murder one on site and abduct the other? Will Lorne find the second woman on time? Will she be able to catch the elusive killer/abductor? But without CCTV or witnesses this will prove a very hard nut to crack. Once again Lorne and her team have no respite in this book, going out and about interrogating persons of interest and trying to make sense of the puzzle pieces they find thrown at them. And apart from the baffling case, Lorne has her whole career put on the line by the devious mind of a criminal from her past. A twisty clever plot, terrifying gruesome scenes, a bucketful of realistic characters - both good and bad, all spiced up with Lorne's usual sharp wit and sarcastic retorts, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed reading it and ended up devouring it in one sitting. Now I can't wait for book number 15. With thanks to the author for an ARC of this book which I voluntarily accepted to read and review.

Ok I'm hooked...now I'll have to get the whole series! The opening attack dragged me in to this story, it begins at a cracking pace that doesn't let up. This time around Lorne is working a case where a wealthy Lady has been murdered.  while out walking her dog. Lorne and her team as usual throw themselves into it. It's not long before another lady is abducted. Could these two be linked. Alongside this Lorne is under investigation herself, after a complaint by someone she has put away in the past. PRIME JUSTICE by Mel Comley – A Review Prime Justice is the latest in the ongoing police series by Mel Comley and the first I have read. Not being a huge fan of the genre I had no idea what to expect, and I did wonder if coming into an established series at such a late stage would be a problem. But it wasn’t; there is sufficient explanation of previous events in the character’s lives to enable a newcomer to dive right in and not feel lost or trying to catch up at all. The police-work side of things is well-written and Ms Comley’s swift, concise writing style ensures a good, fast pace without ever getting lost in padding. My own writing tends towards the more florid and studious, and so hers is not a style with which I am particularly familiar; but in the context of a police novel I think it works well, and ensures rapid progression of the plot with a sense of urgency I am sure is all too evident in the real world when a murderer remains un-caught. This is a good, concise read, with even what might be considered implausible elements by some, handled deftly and believably and without ever dominating the story, which concludes through solid police work with just the smallest amount of luck thrown in. I might personally have preferred a bit more depth and detail in places, but that’s just me. Four stars is easy, and if police procedurals are your thing, then the Justice series comes recommended.

Since I met Lorne Warner about 18 months ago, she's properly been tested and I haven't read the full Justice series. Prime Justice is no different. The hangover comes in the form of a complaint from the aforementioned matriarch; just another thing for Lorne to deal with on top of the brutal murder of a local philanthropist. Why would anyone want to kill a person who brings so much to a community, especially one who has supported the kennels that Lorne and Charlie run? Lorne has her work cut out and she's without her bestie Katy who's off on maternity leave so she has to make do with Katy's other half AJ. Mel Comley has a way of creating characters that you either love, hate or want to give a big cuddle to. I really wanted to take Rebecca, the grieving daughter, and give her a big squishy hug. Weeks before her wedding, her mother is cruelly snatched away from her and her fiance can't even take the day off to comfort her!! Lorne is a character not to be messed with. She is passionate about her job and her family, both blood and her family in blue "Mess with my family and you'll wish to God you hadn't" sums Lorne's protectiveness perfectly. The Justice series, despite having 14 yes 14 books to its name, does not seem to be running out steam! Hopefully there is plenty more for Lorne and the team to face! A big thank you to the author for my advanced copy of Prime Justice.

For those that have never read any in the series, then this could be read as a standalone, but if you are like me a a dedicated follower of it, then it is absolutely fantastic to catch up with my old friends again. I love DI Lorne Wanneer, and how she goes about investigating her cases, and her husband Tony is fabulous too. No matter how sceptical you are, there is something so believable about the hints that her good friend Carol comes up with. There is one main storyline this time, and the criminal in question is definitely dastardly. I didn't really guess who it was, and even when revealed I was semi shocked, but also knew instantly that it made a degree of sense. I managed to read Prime Justice in about two and a half hours, reasonably late a night, unable to put it down for a second, while I saw the outcome. The more books I read of this series the more I enjoy them, and if you are new to the series, then this may not be the best starting point, as others are better, it just depends how many books you want to read to catch up, although I'd recommend starting at the beginning and enjoying all of them!

I love the Justice series and it never fails me. Mel COMLEY's writing style flows and it keeps me enthralled throughout the twists and turns. A woman has been found brutally murdered in Lorne's locality. There is no apparent motive which leads Lorne and her team to make extensive enquiries of the neighbours. Aside from this Lorne has had a complaint made against her which is being dealt with by the Complaints Team much to her disgust and disbelief. Luckily Lorne has her husband Tony and daughter I love the Justice series and it never fails me. Mel COMLEY's writing style flows and it keeps me enthralled throughout the twists and turns. Luckily Lorne has her husband Tony and daughter Charlie to support her in tough times. The author keeps a great balance in her books between work and home lives. Not long after the murder another woman is abducted - are the two incidents connected? The book goes at a rapid rate and kept my interest throughout. Yet again, in my opinion, this book is brilliant. This is book 14 in the series and instead of losing interest, I feel I am part of the team! A definite 5*.

This is the 14th book in the justice series and wow they just keep getting better and better. We are back with Di Lorne Warner and the rest of her team. This time wealthy women are being abducted and murdered and Lorne is on the hunt for the killer. This was an absolutely brilliant page turner of a story that had me glued to the book until the very last page. I received an advanced copy from the author and this review is entirely my own honest opinion.

M.A Comley delivers again. This book has a great flow to it that kept me wanting to read one more page. Finished the book at 2:30 AM. I really like the characters and the way they interact. Would like to have a little bit more of Carol and her spirits.
