My Snowman, Paul is a great addition to your child's bookshelf! I loved the bright purples within this book - all of the contrasting colours worked well in the soft setting. The art style itself was so soft and smooth, which was very nice on the eyes. There's lots of rhyming in this book! Us, fuss, fun, anyone, etc! The rhyming scheme is definitely fun and enjoyable as you follow along with the story. The main theme of this story seemed to be - do what you love no matter what other people say. Bill, the boy who thinks Snowmen are dumb, taunts Dan. When Dan's Mom tells him to go build a snowman anyway, he learns that it's great to do what you love even if other people don't see the fun in it. He even made a new best friend, Paul the snowman! The book is very short (barely 15 pages) but is a nice, quick read for your children! It's cute, fun and tells a great lesson for all kids! Four out of five stars! I found this book on Bookbub!

I first encountered Snowman Paul when I was gifted a copy of Mother's Day with Snowman Paul by the author. I enjoyed it, so I thought I'd try the first book in the series. While seeing the origins of the sentient snowman was interesting, I can't help but feel that My Snowman, Paul is a bit weaker in some ways. It's shorter, which doesn't leave many pages in which to tell the story (especially given that a number of them are taken up by advertising; only 20 pages are for the actual narrative) I first encountered Snowman Paul when I was gifted a copy of Mother's Day with Snowman Paul by the author. Bill, the bully, isn't really used as much as he could have been; he's merely a background presence to be avoided. Dan, the main character, goes outside to build a snowman, the snowman comes alive, the two play a little, and that's it. The illustrations are charming and work well with the story. I just wish there'd been more of a plot to illustrate. Overall, this was just okay. As a setup to the rest of the series, it's probably fine. But there's not a lot of plot here. I'd recommend trying one of the other books instead, as they likely have more of a story (Mother's Day with Snowman Paul certainly did).

Great messages for kids in this box set - don't cheat, apologise when you do wrong, make up for your mistakes, don't stop doing something you love because you are afraid of what people will say. Lovely watercolour illustrations and a good rhyme make this well worth reading to your children. I read this to my 4 year old son and he loved it. The illustrations are colorful and gorgeous (almost look like watercolor painting) This short adorable story is about a boy who makes a snowman and that snowman comes alive. Now, my son wants to build a snowman!

This adorable, simple read is one that young children would simply enjoy! The illustrations are welcoming, warming, and work well with the story at hand. It could even be used a learning tool for simple poems for children to learn. When Dan was worried about what a neighbor would think of his newfound friend, I found it both heartbreaking and endearing due to the outcome. In other words, this could be a nice introduction to friendship and what others may think/say to certain friends. The only suggestion I would make is to keep the rhyming lines together on the same page rather than separating them. Written in AA, BB, CC, etc. rhyme, it was a bit of a challenge to find a rhythm when, for example, line C would be on one page and its rhyming partner C was on the other page. Overall, I really enjoyed this read and it warmed my heart. I would recommend this read to early readers who enjoy rhymes, and to parents/teachers to read to young children! https://bookloverblogs.com/2017/12/04...

This book so reminds me of the story/song Frosty the Snowman and another book I’ve reviewed, the pictures-only book from Raymond Briggs, The Snowman. This first book in the series calls out for a sequel with lovable Paul the Snowman. The other book in the series I just read was the timely Mother’s Day with Snowman Paul. Like Frosty and Briggs’ Snowman, Snowman Paul doesn’t care what others may judge him as and he lives his life purely from love. I know it’s spring now, but let’s make every day a Snow(man Paul) day!

My Snowman, Paul is a book about a boy named Dan. He wanted to go out and play, but he was not fond of the bully Bill. However, this book focuses mainly on empowerment. Yes Bill may not have been the nicest of boys, but a good idea would be to ignore a bully. What I loved about this book was the angle it was written from. While it did include Bill the bully, the main focus was on introducing a friendship. I loved the idea of giving children a positive view. I am in love with Paul and his human, Dan. This is a great book with a rhyming story for ages 0-11. Dan is in the house bored as all kids are on a snowy day. His mom suggests he build a snowman. "Snowmen aren't great," said Dan. He's also thinking of Bill the boy next door who is his bah him bug person. What he learns and does spans many books and this is the start of the series. Read again and again Wow! This is fantastic! I love the illustrations, the rhyming is fun for reading out loud, and it has a great theme. Don't mind what others think, especially when you want to make some fun. It kept the attention of my 3yr old and 1yr old. A very fun book to read again and again. Read again and again Wow! All lovely, short story. High quality watercolour illustrations inside. The text was clear and easy to read. Double click on the text to make it bigger, if desired. The story is told in rhyme. My only complaint disgusting was a bit short. However, there's a bonus free book offer inside. All lovely, short story. High quality watercolour illustrations inside. This is a cute picture book with very bright and colorful illustrations. On the Kindle this picture book doesn't allow you to zoom in like some picture books. But for this one it isn't required to see the story, items in the picture or read the text. The size of the text on the page is just about right. Cute story about being who you are despite what others think. Rhyming text and charming illustrations make this a fun (and short) winter read for your preschoolers. (Right now---November 27th---this sweet story is available for free in the Kindle Store.)

Soft, colorful graphics tell the story of a young boy who has been too much influenced by a 'friend.' A friend who keeps him from having fun. A magical snowman shows Paul that he can have fun and his fun might encourage his friend to join him. Told in rhyme, this short story is cute. I wonder if there is more to the story in later books? The neighbor boy character seemed pretty flat, but maybe he is fleshed out more in later books. I would say that this a good book to read to your kids when you need something short and quick.

Darling Illustrations in this cute story I read this to my three year old from my phone in the doctor's office. The illustrations were his favorite part of the book. The theme of the story was perhaps a bit older for him, but he listened and enjoyed meeting Paul the snowman.
