This short follows a Fae who looks like a small boy, and what he gets up to in between following instructions in the mortal American world. I like that we get a few words of Irish and these are used in spell casting. The style is okay, not wonderful, but the author was trying to condense a lot into a short few pages. I don't know the series, if there is one, and anyone who has read more of this author may enjoy the story more than I did. I downloaded a file from Instafreebie. This is a solid anthology. I would give all the stories at least 3 stars (and only two are that low). You can read my full review over on MySF Reviews. This is a solid anthology. I only enjoyed 2 stories in here, the first by Christie Golden, and the one by Michael Darling, which is as why I bought it in the first place. Felt more like a collection built to promote the authors other works than a collection built around a theme.

This short story provides another point of view to the events in Chapter 1 of Got Luck. Taking place in the same location and featuring cameos of the characters from the novel, it also stands alone as it tells a separate adventure for young Laoch while he influences events for the main character of the novel. It was interesting to write this sort of crossover story and I plan on creating even more shorter words to parallel the saga explored in The Behindbeyond series.
