I read this book as I love Anthony Horowitz. His horror is awesome and very spook. It makes you feel sick in the stomach. AWESOME. This book completes the category of three poems or three short stories. I like this category as it allows one to read a good story without much time. This book is no exception from extreme horror. With three stories about death and torture it really is at a high standard. Scared is suitably the first story, set in the flat Suffolk countryside. A boy called Gary Wilson I read this book as I love Anthony Horowitz. His horror is awesome and very spook. It makes you feel sick in the stomach. AWESOME. With three stories about death and torture it really is at a high standard. Scared is suitably the first story, set in the flat Suffolk countryside. A boy called Gary Wilson is lost and can't find his way back to his grandmothers cottage. I learnt from this story that it is always good to be kind and considerate of others. It also gave us a look at a bullies perceptive and how they are afraid of looking weak and vulnerable. The second story, A career in computer games, is about a guy called Kevin who loves computer games and takes his pocket computer everyday to school. When he saw a advertisement for a career in computer games in jumps for it and phones the number. My favorite character is Mr Go as he seems creepy and like something unexplained. I like this feeling as it creates a sense of mystery and you know something bad is going to happen to the main character but you don't know what. I love this about Mr Go. Howard's End, the final short story in this volume starts off with of course a guy called Howard Blake. Howard dies at age fifteen while crossing a road. He discovers where he will go to hell or heaven and what nasty surprises like in wake. My favorite quote from this book is "My dear Howard,' he said. 'What on earth made you think you'd go to heaven?'" I love this quote as it shows that if you do bad things with your life and waste it this is where you will end up, hell. The quote gives the whole idea that Howard is a very naughty boy and very greedy as well. It tells us that we will get out of something what we put in.

Anthony Horowitz' book scared is 3 bone chilling, heart pumping short horror stories about three young adults who under-go spooky supernatural experiences, making you feel as if you are apart of them. The only reason why i didn't really enjoy the three short stories was because they are all so short, making the book feel rushed as you read it. I found this book while having a browse around my local library, I have read some of Anthony Horowitz' books in the past such as Storm Breaker and the Ravens Gate series, I found the books a pleasure to read, so i thought why not try this one... This book fits perfectly into the ''THREE poems or short stories from ONE anthology'' category on the bingo board. My favorite character of the book would have to be Kevin from the 'smash crash slash 500 plus' story. Which is about Kevin (a young boy) who buys the latest video game, the game breaks the rules and suddenly Kevin is apart of the game... struggling to survive. I like his character because he is a very brave boy and isn't scared to fight. His character shows brilliant heroic like actions as he fights through the games extremely challenging obstacles. I also like his character because he is fairly athletic and because he easily adapts to the games scary environment. A quote i found very interesting was ''your never to young to die'' coming from the mouth of Kevin during an action scene in the book. The quote makes you realize that you should make the most of life, but be smart about what you do while making the most of it and that you should always remember that you have a long life ahead of you that's waiting to be lived. Something ive learnt from these three short stories was that you should respect all and yet fear none, because the only thing we have to fear is fear its self. And that fear is the thing that makes us feel our humanity, so it can sometimes be a good thing. all and all i would probably recommend this book to someone who is into stories that are very short but yet very amusing and entertaining. ¬fa¬

It was a good horror book, it was cool. Very interesting because of all the suspense parts.

One of Anthony Horowitz's stronger horror stories. The situations were close on being relatable to a few familiar experiences. This made the story spookier but more enjoyable in a horror sort of way. One of Anthony Horowitz's stronger horror stories. The situations were close on being relatable to a few familiar experiences. The wondrous last line of every horror tale is indeed shocking.

I really like reading short horror stories. Sure they lack depth and it is harder to connect to the characters, but I really like them. This book is the second book of short stories by Anthony Horrowitz that I have read. I have to admit that I liked Horrowitz Horro more, though this book still was a very relaxing read and is well suited for older children and early teens. I don't really know know what story I liked best. I liked the forst one about a boy who gets lost and then (well spoiler so I' I really like reading short horror stories. I also liked the final story, the second story I liked least of all. The characters just didn't really appeal to me. There is one thing I find odd though, some reviews I've read about this book said that this was a graphic novel. Maybe my copy was different but aside from a few illustrations this was a very normal collection of short stories, not a graphic novel at all...

scared is a good horror and is a comic and is a reading book as well and i would recommend this to younger people as it is very short and easy but its a good book to read when bored but if i was going to rate it out of ten i would rate it 8/10 because some of the book could be improved in the length and action.
