A very creative and unique book that kept me hooked from beginning to end. Every couple pages in this book you'll find unique artwork and creativity. But the pages aren't too incredibly different, but done in a way unique enough that it isn't overboard (it doesn't feel like an art book). The poems are straightforward and the short stories behind each one gives you a small look into the author's head. It's really just that good! I've met Bradley personally and had a show back with him a little over a year ago. He is an entertaining and eccentric character that is as loving and kind as his poetry. This was the first modern poet I got into and I've been quite pleased. Bradley has several other projects coming up and you can find out more by googleing his name. A particular one I'm looking forward to is his new CD that sounds kind of like a Johnny Cash tribute. I'm going to say add a star if you like modern poetry and take one off if you don't like it. Recommended age is about eleven and up, anyone younger probably won't understand much of what he's saying. Speaking of which, wish I had read this in middle school. Would have laid to rest a lot of anxieties I had.

lots of fun. I especially liked the 'Manly Man' poem. I loved the transparency he had throughout the entire book. That made the whole read really special. lots of fun. Found this treasure hiding in a used book store. I read it so often I have it all memorized. I highly recommend it, especially the poem, "The Annoying Hardcore Dude That Goes Too Far." For the life of me I can't believe *anybody* would give this book a 5-star review! I'm thinking the authors friends must have written these reviews. For the most part it's drivel, immature, and the author is too simplistic in what his idea of "God" is for my tastes. I did like "Big Things in Big Packages", being an overweight woman I could appreciate that poem. I found it curious to find something called "The Hug Poem", as I've written a hug poem myself expressing nearly the same sentiments the For the life of me I can't believe *anybody* would give this book a 5-star review! I found this book at a thrift store. The CD was missing, maybe if I'd been able to hear the author actually speak the poems I would have felt slightly warmer about it, but as it is I paid only $1.00 for the book and am glad I didn't pay more than that for it. I have many friends that are poets I could give the book to but feel that the writing is so unimpressive I can't even recommend it to them. It's going right back to the thrift store. Not memorable. Not a keeper. Sorry.

Some of the poems are so encouraging to me and others are just beautiful and easy to relate to. A couple of his earlier works are a bit immature but I always find at least one line that I think is beautiful. And I like reading his explanations at the end and finding out how things turned out and what he thinks about things now that he's older. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody who is discouraged about their faith. Some of the poems are so encouraging to me and others are just beautiful and easy to relate to. What an excellent book. I am not the biggest fan of slam poetry, but it is very hard not to fall in love with the power behind every word that Bradley Hathaway incorporates into his poems. He shares his life story and personal thoughts through introductions to the poems as well as with the poetry itself. This insight leads to rethinking of how your living your own life and how you might be able to develop a different and better perspective.

a friend of mine bought me this book/cd as a gift when it came out a few years ago. I had a love for Bradley before I read and listened to all of his work, and afterward I just felt floored by every line. He will bring out your happiness in such a way that you'd think you were a flower swaying in tall grass with warmth all over you. He delivers beautifully and regardless of your faith, you'll find a message that will hit you. If he comes by your area, I highly recommend seeing him live. a friend of mine bought me this book/cd as a gift when it came out a few years ago. I bought this book on Booksale for only 20Php and I loved it. Some people think that being a Jesus-freak is lame, but with this book and the poems in it makes it even look cooler. Good things are everywhere, and so is Jesus. All we have to do is look around us, open our eyes and see the good in them. At least that is what the book taught me. :)

Bradley Hathaway is a very unique poet. He preforms poems like most bands preform songs. And while most of his poems are not revolutionary or genius, they are filled with an honest truth about the world. If you ever have the pleasure to see Bradley preform on stage then you will know why I rated this book so high.

I really enjoyed this poetry. I think it is brilliant what Bradley Hathaway does with the timing and how he presents his words on the cd included with the book. I also enjoyed the little sketches he drew with each poem. My favorite two poems are the Hug Poem, and Manly Man.
Anna Banana –
Bradley Hathaway is witty, honest and articulate, offering his story and insight in an appealing fashion. His poetry is moving and eye-opening. I loved this book.

Very creative. He does a great job at being the voice of a 20 years old Christian male.

Love this book, it more of a collection of poems really. I saw Bradley perform at a little church in town.
