*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book* I really wanted to like this book. I usually like books with paranormal creatures but I just couldn't get into this book. I kept hoping that it would get better but the book never picked up for me. I couldn't connect with the characters and I was a bit bored overall. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book* I really wanted to like this book. Odd I thought the cover was beautifully odd yet the story...was just odd. I almost quit reading. But the imagination kept me going through the awful male lead, the typos, and contradictions. But it lost me with the painful bdsm. Mature content Read in KU

I was gifted this audiobook for an honest review Is there anything you would change about this book? I would change the way Annora felt about her parents. She felt that her father hanged the moon and her mother was a demon that should be killed. This story was a bit weird for me. I personally did not understand why Mac Bhriain was such a manwhore. I did not understand why Annora hated her mom so much. She shut down after two experiences that shaped her. She blamed her mom for everything that seemed to go wrong in her life. I think that Annora really like the fact that her mom treated her so badly. She felt like the only one that cared for her was her father and that everyone around her had it out for her. For me Annora was emotionally draining. I wanted to hit her and say 'Wake up!!! The world does not revolve around you and sometimes life sucks!'. Over all this story was different and I liked that. Some of the characters I prefered over the others like David. I loved his character and I loved the hotel. Even though this book was different for me this story was a good one. It was funny at times and there was a good amount of sadism (which I could have done without).

First off, I love the cover of this book! Next off, Loved this book! Meeting with My Maker was very unique and interesting! I love the whole writing style, and the jaded, macabre setting. Annora's father died, and Annora has been really affected by his death, so much so, she has become OCD and her outlook on life is not positive. I enjoyed Annora's character, she is flawed, but I loved that she has some sass. She is depressed, so she has some dark thoughts, and she's actually quite naïve. I enjoyed Annora's character, she is flawed, but I loved that she has some sass. She is depressed, so she has some dark thoughts, and she's actually quite naïve. Annora's mother hears about the Hotel Paranormal, and decides to go on a trip there in hopes of seeing her dead husband, and despite Annora's misgivings, she ends up going with her mother. After they arrive at the Hotel Paranormal, Annora begins to experience some weird things, such as seeing a weird shadow in the mirror, but Annora thinks all the weird things are tricks, so she brushes them off. Mac is a manwhore, or rather I suppose demonwhore is more appropriate since Mac is a demon. Mac is hedonistic, he does drugs, he drinks, thinks only of himself, and he just wants to find someone to screw, but unfortunately for Mac his demonwhoring ways have caught up with him, and one of his past conquests wants to make him pay for screwing her over. Mac ends up getting trapped in some walls at The Hotel Paranormal, and it just so happens that he trapped in the room that Annora is staying in. Mac wants to ravish Annora, but since he's trapped, he can't get to her, so what's a demon to do? I love that we get POV's from both Annora and Mac, and I that this wasn't like anything I've ever read before. This isn't a light and fluffy read, these characters are sad, unhappy, and aren't necessarily good. They have darkness in them, and this leads to some combustible intimate scenes. The hotel is super awesome, and does some cool, amazing stuff, and I loved that the hotel is like another character in the book. I do think Annora's mother's personality switch was rather sudden, and I would have loved more in the ending, but that's just me wanting perfect. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down till I finished it, so that is definitely a great read for me, and I'm excited to read more books in this series and by Calinda B!

I received an ARC for free in exchange for an honest review. -- I truly enjoyed this book. It was a very quick read. I would've probably finished it in a day or two if it wasn't for uni and mid-terms. The first chapters were a bit slow and I got a bit lost sometimes, but the story was great. It ended up catching me. Especially the last half of the book. I couldn't stop reading and coming up with my own theories about what was going on, and what would happen next. However, Mac Bhraian was my favorite. That freaking horny demon was unbelievable. His occurrences made me laugh quite a few times. And Min.. Oh my goodness, that hell horse was so cute I wanted to have him. I wish there was more to this story, though. I think I have a problem with short novels. I always end up needing more. (I have the same problem with 600 pages novels, so maybe the problem is me because I can't get enough!) So, if you feel like reading a steamy paranormal short novel, you should give Meeting with My Maker: Hotel Paranormal a try. You won't regret it.

Me and a demon???? This book was a lot more sexual than I thought it would be. I also wasn't expecting so much foul language. That said, the sex and the foul language had their proper place in the story and were fitting for a story about a demon lover. Interesting premise. Interesting hotel. Interesting story. Fun read. This is the first time I have read a book by this author and was very pleasantly surprised at how well the book was written. I found it to be interesting and intriguing to read, it is one of the few books that I have read that kept my attention until the end. I am not not to write any spoilers but I would recommend this book.

Meeting with My Maker is a very unusual story from what the author Calinda B. writes. I have read her books from contemporary, exotic, and futuristic but this story is different from she usually writes. Annora has been used and burned by her father, her mother, and then her ex-boyfriend. The worst is the aftermath of her humiliation by her ex-boyfriend. Annora, finally shut downed and conformed to her mother's religious antics of finding Jesus. Annora is dragged by her mother to go to Hotel Paranormal in her quest of trying to contact Annora's father. Mac Bhriain McCarrion is a shadow demon from Hell. He was not qualms about the consequences of his actions until a group of female demons banded together to punish for his callous flings and one-night stand with them. The only place he can hide is at Hotel Paranormal. Annora is broken where she is just getting by instead of living life. Whereas Mac Bhriain is in needs of a lesson of reforming. Two beings from two sides of the spectrum and an unlikely pair to find love. A love story that both characters are least likely to change. I love the symbolism of how the hotel portrayed Annora and Mac Bhriain's room. Not only does the rooms portrayed their state of minds, it also show how the characters have grown and learned at the end of the story. Readers/Listeners will have a laugh of Mac Bhriain's comical sexual frustration with Annora. This book is worth listening to. The narrator, Jeremie Burbey is absolutely fantastic with Mac Bhriain's voice. It is so Mac Bhriain. He is suburb with Annora and the other characters' voices. I was given this audiobook by the author. I have volunteered to write an unbias review for this book. I was not compensated or influence in any way for writing this review.

I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This was a very unique story. At least, I've never read anything like it before. I found the book itself quite difficult to get into - the characters are boring and the plot felt like it was literally just the two main characters having sex (there's a lot of sex and bdsm, the latter of which Annora didn't actually consent to before Mac started). Exquisite Beauty, Exquisite Misery...a total confusion of a read / listen. Mac Bhriain is a dark specter / demon and Annora doesn't believe in the paranormal and for the most part is so innocent. I was a little disappointed in how naïve Annora was but loved her juxtaposition. Mac Bhriain was not as complex but had character growth. I loved the dynamic between these characters. Annora is going to a paranormal hotel because her mother will not leave her alone. She is against the Paranormal but doesn't realize it is all around her. The hotel rooms are based on your desires. She learns that she can not feel because her mother makes her repress her feelings. The characters had no chemistry and Annora always had a crazy response to the strange things happening around her. Annora is going to a paranormal hotel because her mother will not leave her alone. I did receive an advance copy; and am thrilled. I would say it's fun, but it's really more intense. Parts are fun, but so much more. Wow. I don't know what to say.
