If you've enjoyed the series thus far, you'll be quite happy with the concluding volume. It is in just the same vein as the first two books, but I found it to be slightly more mature in both the plot line and the way the book was structured. Don't worry though, this did nothing to effect the sense of humour in the characters and the writing. "Anne picked her mobile phone up off the bedside table. A text message from Death. Really good story, the last in the series of "How To Be Dead" in this series plenty of action, vampires , a good immortal turns bad, this book has it all to be honest. We also get to find out more about Anne's past and how she ended up working for Death and being his friend. I really enjoyed this book, looking forward to reading other books by this Author when he publishes them. Didn't like this one as much as the previous 2 books in the series. Didn't seem to have as much humor and was less clear what the supernatural force was. Still, it was fun. Will read the 4th book of this "trilogy." Didn't like this one as much as the previous 2 books in the series. Didn't seem to have as much humor and was less clear what the supernatural force was. Another non book A non-book, if you've read How To Be Dead. Profoundly disappointing, and a bit dishonest. Why bundle three books together if two are exerpts of the other one? Certainly hope noone paid for three. Another non book A non-book, if you've read How To Be Dead. Profoundly disappointing, and a bit dishonest. Another amusing read I love this series. Death is his usual laid back sarcastic self and the humour keeps you laughing. Now I know why the older generation always have tea and biscuits in the house. Excellent read

A mix of excitement and humour.

Top Read!!!! Read it! Read the others too! They’re all good, you won’t be disappointed. I don’t drink tea but I like biscuits. End of review!

Dave Turner once again outdoes himself with the 3rd part of the how to be dead series. If you have read the first two then you can expect a climactic finish and more of the same humour.

I enjoyed all three of these, and am recommending them to friends. Think Douglas Adams meets Terry Pratchett.

Funny end of civilisation book Laugh out loud novella. Really worth a read. The full series is great. Definitely recommend. Well written with good editing.
Barbara Russell –
Great fun as usual. I hope there will be another book of the series. We left Death a bit lonely...

The author gave me a copy of this book in exchange for my review. “Anne picked her mobile phone up off of the bedside table. The character of Death really stays true to who he was in the first two books. Turner takes the opportunity of a third novel to wisely expand the characters of Anne and Dave. We get looks back into how they started and how they came to be the people that face what they do and come out sane. Turner also expands on the relationship between Death and Anne and how it’s evolved over time. Both Death and the bad guy are wonderfully absurd and irreverent without coming off as ridiculous. Turner’s humor within the characters is smart and razor sharp. I have been following Turner on social media and envy the absurdist wit he shares with the primary immortal. Death’s dedication to all things human and his very real quirks make him a character readers will love. The bad guy, and I won’t spoil his identity, is brilliantly pragmatic. Events of previous books revealed him and his motivations are still somewhat mysterious Turner gives us an illusion of insight when we see the story from his perspective but his interactions are ominous but not definitive. It would be easy for the main plot line to be overshadowed by the day-to-day interaction of strong characters but Turner’s subtle treatment of the bad guy and his attempts to manipulate Dave and the whole of London shines through and makes for a fascinating, as well as entertaining, read.

"Death liked the English. He enjoyed the real ale, biscuits and cricket. Any nation that could invent a game that went on for five days and invariably ended in a draw truly grasped the futility of existence." I loved the whole series. The third one was everything I could've hoped for and ended perfectly. I can't wait to read more from this author "Death liked the English. He enjoyed the real ale, biscuits and cricket. I had to get this book to finish the series off. It was a great read and even mildly funny. The characters are relateable and even likeable. Dave and his friends are recovering from the events of the last book when they get dragged into the events of this book. It was well written and flowed perfectly. I like the characters and the overall plot was spectacular.

The third book in the series, and another page turner. Death, Dave, Anne, and Melanie are back, and Conquest is up to something bad. Read the first two, then quickly move onto this. Good, funny, fiction that most people have never heard of.

Somewhat anticlimactic, but funny throughout This is a fast read. I like the author's sense of humor and irreverent approach. There was a lot of build up to a weak ending. I would still recommend the book. Somewhat anticlimactic, but funny throughout This is a fast read. I like the author's sense of humor and irreverent approach. More fun. The coming of the Apocalypse.... maybe. A very British apoc at that, no guns but plenty of shovels to go round. Dave, Death and Anne are a fabulous trio and I loved the flashbacks. Bring on the Four Horsemen!
