These are the paranormal elite and yes I've perhaps not read everyone before but I've certainly had just about all these authors on my wish list. If frank only three are completely new to me but the joy of catching up with my favourites is insurmountable . It's not a short read by any means but so well worth it and very hard to put down at times. I won't take up pages but will pick just a few that I enjoyed. Until Dawn Ms Kellisons insight into her Bloodkin world was unexpected and a joy although at times a little creepy. Plus we get the bonus of a Bloodkin with a surprising way of entertaining herself! Forbidden Taste Ms Ashley has long been a favourite of mine but her story about a telepath rescuing a long buried vampire was so intriguing as it connects with her Immortals series that I'd somehow missed. If you've enjoyed her shifter stories wait until you meet these guys ! Williams Witch Ms Day has written a quick story about one of the Cardinal witches and it's very amusing with a vampire who itches around magic . Now add in a persistent witch and you just know he's in for a bumpy ( skin wise!) ride. Plus it reminded me of her Poseidon stories so a win win. Love Bite Ms Kyle shot the ball out of the park with this one, it's possibly the hottest story here! A down on her luck heroine with an idea of how she can pay her bills but it's a dangerous game she plays when selling blood to a vampire! Vampires Kiss Ms Carter is one of those authors I keep hearing about so it was a real treat to sample her writing style. Such an imaginative way to pair up a Vampire with a Valkyrie and there's a lot of darkness here in this violent world . I could go on and on but really feel this book speaks for itself . I'm not sure how long the introductory offer will last but it's definitely worth snapping up. I had such fun reading stories from favourite authors , meeting new characters and sincerely hope you will too. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy

I had such fun writing in the Sweetblood world again! ➡ http://bit.ly/TTVantho Guardian Mateo Carrera hasn’t been home to Vancouver Island in years—not since the night he almost killed Selena Tosca, the woman he loved, when his dark nature couldn’t resist her sweet blood. But when he uncovers a deadly plot against her, he’ll risk everything to save her…even if it means losing himself. *** EXCERPT (First sent out to my Newsletter subscribers) *** Pulling out one of his blades, Mateo Carrera separated from the shadows and strode toward the group of young vampires. The instant the youthlings saw him, they tried to scatter, but he was faster and more skilled at this than they were. Backing them into a corner, he blocked their only chance at escape. He snapped his fingers and held out his hand, palm up. “Give me the Sweet.” “What are you talking about?” one of the females said, red lips curled into a sneer. “We don’t have any.” “Yeah,” a male said, echoing the same disdainful tone and taking a bold step forward. “We don’t know what you’re talking about.” Mateo narrowed his eyes. “Cut the crap and hand it over. Three, two, one…” “Fuck you. We—” In an instant, Mateo had him in a headlock, blade pressed against the guy’s throat. God, they were so predictable. You’d think some of them would be a little more imaginative. “You going to try telling me those Darkbloods in the cemetery with you a few minutes ago were selling, what, lollipops?” No answer. “Give it to me or it’ll be your blood I’m spilling.” “You wouldn’t dare.” One of the other males from the back of the pack, a tall, shifty-looking guy, stepped forward. “Do you know who my father is?” “I don’t give two flying fucks who your father is.” Coming from a family of privilege himself, that excuse always rankled. “You’re using Sweet and the last time I checked, that’s a punishable offense.” The male gave a haughty laugh. “You guys are all the same, you know that? Busting us for using when you’re just as addicted as we are. I know you’re not dumping this shit or taking it back to your little playhouse as evidence. As soon as we split, you’re going to be popping the rubber corks and downing the blood as fast as we were about to.” Mateo tightened his grip on the guy’s friend. Sure, corruption in the Guardian ranks was prevalent here in New Orleans, but he played no part in it. He kept his head down and didn’t get involved in any of that shady shit. Rules were there for a reason. It drove his partner crazy sometimes, but Mateo knew what happened when you pushed things past the breaking point. They broke. He touched the tip of the blade to the youthling’s neck and drew blood. “I haven’t wasted a vampire in, oh, twelve hours now, so I’m itching for an excuse to charcoal you.” “Give it to him, Jonas,” one of the females hissed to the rich guy. “It’s not worth it.” “This is bullshit,” a shorter guy said, glancing warily at the lightening sky. “Just give it to him. I’ve got to get home.” “No,” Jonas argued with his friends. “He’s just going to—” The events that followed happened quickly. Someone must’ve reached into Jonas’s pocket, because shouts, cursing and a scuffle ensued. Several glass vials of the addictive blood went flying and shattered on the cobblestones. The youthlings, unable to control themselves, pounced. With the scent of Sweet thick in the air, Mateo’s grip loosened momentarily. The young man he’d been holding immediately slipped from his grasp and joined his friends lapping at the blood-spattered cobblestones. It took a moment for Mateo to process the scent—he hadn’t smelled it in a long, long time—but not because he was addicted to Sweet. As a Guardian, part of his training had involved becoming desensitized to it, and now he routinely busted those who were selling it. No. That scent—that particular scent—was very familiar to him. When Mateo made the connection, he staggered backward, feeling as if he’d been hit by a train. And then a white-hot rage surged through his veins, clouding all reason and logic. On some level, he knew these kids had nothing to do with the collection of this blood or its source, they were just consumers, but he didn’t care. Fangs fully extended, he whipped out his silver blades, wielding them like extensions of his hands. Lunging, he intended to kill all of them. Spill their blood on the cobblestones. But before his weapons struck flesh, strong arms gripped him from behind, nearly wrenching him off his feet. “What the fuck!” he yelled, struggling to free himself. “Easy there, big guy.” It was Zeph. “Let go of me, man, or I’ll rip your head off.” His partner ignored him, his grip vise-like around Mateo’s biceps. “Dude, they’re just mixed-up kids. They’re not the enemy.” But Zeph didn’t understand. He couldn’t understand. The blood Mateo smelled was hers. *** End of Excerpt *** Can't wait for you to read the rest of the story! Be sure to order this collection of 25+ vampire romances for only 99¢ USD (or equivalent) at your favorite retailer.

This is my final review on this set. I will not be reviewing every book in this set. Thats quite a few books over 25. So, I've done a few. Love Bite by Celia Kyle I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. I louved it! I cant get over how much I loved it. I am in love with Arik! He was sweet and hawt and damn did I mention hawt? He can bite me anytime! Zoe was really cute and funny. She gets in a bit of a financial bind and decides to donate blood for money. Her roommate Audrey encourages her to not just donate plasma but to become a blood donor which is way more money. Zoe is reluctant because you know vampires. She's a bit scared but determined to at least do it once. She meets Arik and feels a weird connection with him...she feels safe and its not something she is used to feeling. He's oh so good to her. Someone else wants Zoe as well and perhaps in not a good bitey kinda way either. Will Arik be able to find her in time? Can he save her? Well read and find out! See? Told ya I'd be back! So....11/2/16 Until Dawn by Erin Kellison Never read this author before and it was certainly different. A witch reality show and one of the witches Judith gets cursed by another witch who isnt very nice. Cal who is a fan serves a Bloodfire Dragoness who is equally a fan. She's very old and although Cal is a vampire he wishes to serve her as a companion if you will. She wants him to take care of whoever curses her favorite...Judith. Now, I think its an interesting idea but it didnt quite come together well. It wasnt developed enough for me. I felt like I started reading the middle of a series and I'm missing a lot of information. I really felt no connection or chemistry between Cal and Judith. Cal is a cold kind of guy and very reserved and doesnt get out much. He cares in his way but I dont know. It felt more friendship than anything else. A guy helping out a girl and they go their separate ways. Thats exactly how it felt to me. The sex scene? I wasnt sure if they did have sex it was just a blink and over. There were a lot of spider references which confused me because he's a vampire. Yes, they have certain movements but he seriously crawled on the wall like a spider. He had sex with Judith like on the wall....not against it but on it? A bit confusing. There is a series she wrote called Dragons of Bloodfire but I dont know if this novella is part of that or its something totally different. The Vampire's True Love Trials by Kristen Painter This is part of the Nocturne Falls series...followed book #5 in the series. I havent read any of the series so I was clueless and honestly it was difficult to get into the book because I havent read any of the books. I basically was able to figure stuff out but I think it would have been way helpful to read The Vampire's Fake Fiance at least if not the whole series. I will say I liked it. I will definitely check out the series. Book 1 is free right now so I snagged it and will read later. 11/3/16 In Her Shadows A Tribes of the Vampire Novella by Michelle Pillow Olivia was just a child when she witnesses a horrific act. She witnessed a vampire killing a group of vampires but he did not kill her. He did mark her though so he could always find her. She thought it was a threat if she told so she never told anyone. He buried the truth so deep in her that not just anyone could get to it. However, someone other than her survived and he slays her family. After that she's got guardians who protect and train her to protect herself. She's got a thing for one of them...Jaxson. He is forbidden to tell her his feelings for her. Question is how long will he obey that order. When she is taken will he get to her in time before she dies or will he have to turn her to save her? So, I did feel slightly lost on this a little. This is part of the Tribes of the Vampire series. There are 3 books full length and the first 2 are 700 pages whoa and the third is 370 so I do think I am missing a bit. This takes place I believe after book 2 because she just released book 3 like last week. I thought it was interesting and liked the story but like I said that lost feeling because I havent read any of this series. Breaking The Skin by P. Jameson Michael "Hatch" Jacobson is a human but he works for Daywalkers which are vampires of a sort but not. They do require blood BUT they also require light. Its like a battery to them. Hutch has had a huge thing for Lola a human who works at the Blood Bank he donates to. She equally has a thing for him but neither one does a thing about it. Hutch fears she'll get hurt because his job is working with Daywalkers and although some are good "skins" are not so he keeps away from her. When danger ensues all bets are off. I did enjoy this book. This is a bit of a spinoff of Starwalker her Sci-fi book awhile back which I hope she does more on. I know not everyone liked it but I guess you just have to have an open mind. This is different from her other series' way different. This book isnt the same species but its about the Daywalkers that were in the book towards the end. I want to know more about Drak for sure and Hazel. I loved this and although it was short I dont think its a finished series. She left it a little open to expansion or more books. Being Naughty With The Vampire by Marie Mason After her Grandmother's passing Sage goes up to take care of some things regarding her estate but runs into car trouble. She meets Marcus when he stops to help her. Things happen pretty quick with them but there is just something about Marcus that calls to her and puts her at ease. She has her suspicions but isnt sure until her headaches start to worsen. Turns out she's not quite human either. Its a sweet story. Short and insta-love but hey its a naughty read. Marie writes some great naughty stories. Seriously check her stuff out. I'll admit I wish she had a better editor but otherwise she does great stories. Vampire's Kiss by Mina Carter Valkyrie's take souls to where they need to go. They are extremely dangerous and have some major mojo. What happens when Tove is caught in a cage and at the mercy of an undead vampire? Well she doesnt consider it much of an issue because she does get loose and tries to kill him...sorta. Zane is hella powerful in his own right. He's got a big ol secret. He's a very powerful vampire but has a little something extra that we find out at the end. Is it possible that a Valkyrie and a vampire are mates? How can that be when its frowned upon and it seems when Tove realizes what it means...will she sacrifice herself to save her love? This was a darker romance so its not sweet. Just wanted to put that out there. However, I love Mina's work and I love when she goes darker. Not every story should have puppies right? Read it cause its really smokin! This concludes my review of this set. I'll continue to read the stories but I wont be doing reviews on them. Happy Reading!

Bobby who we met in the 4th Sons of Sangue novel featuring the Anton "Rogue" Balan, is just as sexy and loyal as they come. When we met him in Rogue, I instantly loved him for those qualities and knew he would be one to watch out for, so imagine my happiness when I learn that Patricia is doing a novella for him! Yes! In Rogue, he was with the Devils, the rival MC that Anton (Rogue) was working undercover against, unbeknownst to him, the Devils, and even his former club, the Sons. Even when Bobby discovered Anton's secret, in the end he betrayed the Devils, being unable to look past the evil he saw, knowing deep down that Rogue was a good man. He saved Rogue, and Kimber (Rogue's love interest), and in turn nearly died for it. The kicker is, Rogue couldn't let a fellow good man, and now friend, die. So, Bobby is now one of the Sons and, a vampire. Preacher leaves Oregon behind, hoping to come to terms with his new found vampirism, but what he didn't expect is the sexy Tena who he was hardcore crushing during his time in Oregon with Rogue. No, he certainly didn't expect the first woman he's had a hard-on for to pursue him, and give him a reason to accept himself for who he has become, let alone want him after learning about his new identity. In the process of learning his secret Tena is put in the middle of an incident after Preacher makes a newbie mistake, one that puts his existence as a vampire in jeopardy and in turn puts his new club (the Sons) at risk as well. The little bit of action was just what I needed, there was plenty of sexy time, and of course, love and what I hope will be a full-on HEA once I get the next novel/novella in my hands. I was glad to read this, and I loved every second of the short and sweet story ;)

Kristen Painter The Vampire's True Love Trials So to be absolutely honest. When I started this, I kinda found myself getting rather agitated. I kept thinking; BUT they just went through so much crap and now they have to proof their love again?! Add to that the fact that Sebastian actually isn't my favorite character in the series.. and well, it could have been a disaster. ( clearly I do like them a lot to feel they were totally slighted by more tests!) I kinda got totally sucked in by the story. Which is due to wonderful writing style. Great world building. Just as always when it comes to Painter. This short story has a wonderful fairy tale feel to it. It is set in Paris, the city of love. But Painter did a wonderful job at highlighting the more goth beauty of this city. Beautiful descriptions of some of my favorites places there. I got all caught up in the mystery and was rooting for them, and beyond pleased with the ending. Even if it happened way too soon for my taste.

I read half a dozen stories and got tired of them with a thousand more to go in the collection. Most of them have basically the same plot. I'll get back to the rest someday. These are what I have read: The Vampire's True Love Trials--This is the reason I bought the collection. Witty dialog, lovable familiar characters, interesting plot. It did take me a minute to remember where we left off because I hadn't just put down the previous one. If you're new to the series you'll miss a lot of the references. In Her Shadows--I usually love this author but gave up this story without finishing. Forbidden Taste--Ancient vampire awakens and falls in love with the first woman he sees. There's more to it than that and I did enjoy it. Love Bite--Human sells blood to vampire and it's love at first bite for both. A Mate for Brynn--Forbidden romance between smaller than normal vampire and smaller than normal werewolf. Writing was sloppy ("tact" instead of "tack," numerous sentence fragments such as "'Don't say anything more.'" "She added."). The Enforcer--Human woman is reunited with vampire boyfriend. Midnight Echoes--Human woman in supernatural family falls for vampire. Family disapproves. An extra word, awkward sentence structure, and confusion of "pouring" for "poring." Breaking the Skin: Exciting story about man working with vampires and protecting a woman. The mythology was a bit confusing but I didn't take it seriously. A few missing question marks, and "every day" was spelled as one word a couple times. Immortal Glamour--it was a bit too wordy and descriptive for my taste. For a short story, the background and mythology were too complex. Every chapter had a different narrator. Still, I enjoyed it. Update: I skimmed most of the rest of the stories, buy I did read and enjoy William's Witch by Alyssa Daye.

This book is about Maverick, a vampire and Becky, a human. Once upon a time Maverick was human and they were in love, but Maverick was turned and pushed her away to keep her safe. First let me say that Maverick being a Vamp doesn't change the fact that he's a dude and dudes think they know what's best when it comes to the safety of the women they love. Second, hello another group of sexy vamps from one of queens of sexy vampires. Maverick, once human now vampire, is a part of the Enforcers. If Gabelman's vampires were law enforcement the VC Warriors would be the Feds and the Enforcers the local law enforcement. They are after a certain group of vamps and Becky just happens to be caught in the middle. The action starts right off the bat, I love the reactions that Becky and Maverick have to each other after the time they've been apart. The way they feel about each, like in real life, hasn't changed due to time and circumstance. The new vampires are funny as heck, they protect the good guys, and love hard. I for one have my fingers crossed for more of the Enforcers, whether they are on their own or intergraded in with the Protectors, hint hint!! . Oh, and Becky by the way kicks ass, literally!!! Love a strong woman who knows what and who she wants. When men, be they human or vampire, realize that no matter what happens to you a woman who loves you will always love you, magic happens.

I can honestly say it’s one of the best PNR collections I’ve read so far. It’s not just vampires; there are witches, shifters, dragons, demons, fae, psychics, genetic engineering beings, and everything in between. Granted, some stories are better than others but as a whole it’s amazing! If anyone has thought about trying any of the authors in the set this is the perfect way of doing it. There are so many stories in this set that it would take too much space to post a review for each of them so I I can honestly say it’s one of the best PNR collections I’ve read so far. There are so many stories in this set that it would take too much space to post a review for each of them so I’ll just post the review for the story I volunteer to read. Until Dawn: A Dragons of Bloodfire World Novella by Erin Kellison Vampire Cal is on a mission. Find out who’s trying to harm reality tv star (and witch) Judith and eliminate the threat if necessary. As usual this author kept the illusion of a simple tale of boy-rescues-girl up to a point but the story was so neatly told and full of surprising turns that before it was over it was obvious it was nothing I thought it would be. For such a short story it had plenty of action, drama, and a sweet HPN ending, not because there wasn’t a happy ending but because the story needed that ending. I hope there is more from this couple or at least from Judith's “coven” because they sounded like fun. *** I received this book from one of the authors at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***

I received an ARC of "The Vampire's True Love Trials," Kristin Painter's contribution to this box set. This review is for THAT story ONLY. In this novella, they have finally wrapped up the remaining "issues" from VFF, and are looking forward to spending some time alone together. Their plans are disrupted when Tessa's parents call, to tell her they have arranged her marriage. To avoid spoilers, I am not going to say anything else, but what follows is a wonderful set of events that shows Tessa, and everyone else involved, what a vampire will do to prove how much he loves his Valkyrie -- even though he shouldn't have to in the 21st century! As usual, the writing was excellent, and I couldn't put it down. The characters drew me into the events, until I wanted to start giving the marriage-arranging parents a piece of my mind! I hope there's not a long wait for #7!

**Please note this review is only for: Black Blood by JC Andrijeski** Intriguing short story about Miriam & Black. Takes place just after Black returns from being kidnapped by Vampires. The first story I read was - A Mate For Brynn (The Program 6.5) by Charlene Hartnady, it was part of a series I wanted to complete. It also may have been the spark the author had before continuing with writing a whole series. Enough of a tease that hooked me and took me away to start the series immediately. 4 stars. That just didn't seem right for me so instead, I will give my overall impression. As the title suggests, there are vampires galore to be had. Day-walkers, night-walkers, young, old, traditional, modern and everything in-between. If vampires are what you are hankering for, then this is the collection for you. Throw into that mix Shifters, Hunters, Demons, Fae, Ghosts, Witches and any other type as paranormal you can think of as well as different timeframes. There is something for everybody in this collection. Add to that, there's also plenty of romances to be had but when it comes to the sex, some are loaded while others you are lucky if there is a kiss. I have read several of these authors before and loved their stories, while other are new to me. Obviously the point of have a collection such as this is to introduce a reader to new authors, to get them hooked and hope to draw in new readers, which worked very well for me. I have discover a bunch of authors and their series that I plan to check out. Equally there are a few I was indifferent to, or didn't care for. That's the point of a collection such as this and it worked very well. Truth be told I may have overdone it by reading all 28 stories back to back. ACK! I have completely had my fill of novellas and short stories at this point so please don't make the same mistake that I did. Each story only takes around an hour so I recommend reading a few at a time then deciding if you want more from the author. Honestly, I actually got frustrated with the stories I truly enjoyed because I wanted more and that is probably the point. Bait the hook and hope we bite. I know I'm going to be looking into quite a few of these authors. At the price this collection is going for, the talent to be had and the stories and worlds to be discovered, I highly recommend picking up Taming The Vampire. I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine. Stars - 4, Flames - 3

My review is for Kristen Painter's The Vampire's True Love Trials. This is a short story that re-visits Sebastian and Tessa from the Nocturne Falls series, but can be enjoyed without having read the other books in the series. She had long ago turned away from her valkyrie side, but with Sebastian's love and support she found her strength and confidence again. Now, in this short story, Sebastian and Tessa are ready to take the next step in their relationship and want to get married. Unfortunately, Tessa's parents are old-school, her mom's a valkyrie, and her father is a berserker. It is expected that Tessa would marry a berserker. They agree to give Sebastian a chance IF he can complete feats of strength-trials that would determine he is strong enough to marry a valkyrie. I'm so glad Kristen Painter brought this couple back, Sebastian and Tessa are one of my favorites from the NF series. I love the combination of vampire and valkyrie, and the two perfectly compliment each other. I love Tessa's reserved strength, she is usually meek and mild, but can be a fierce warrior when the need arises. Sebastian has been given new life in his love for Tessa and would gladly give upeverything for them. This is a sweet, fun HEA story. While, I havenot yet read the rest of this collection, I am really looking forward to it. There are a lot of great authors in here, and I know it will be a fun read, especially in the fall/Halloween time.

I haven't read the whole anthology yet but have read my favorite author's story in it: The Vampire's True Love Trials by Kristen Painter. Although Nocturne Falls is still one of my favorite places to visit, this story shows that author Painter has such likable, memorable, and compellingly well drawn characters that even taken out their charming milieu they are still just as fun as always to follow. If you’re a fan, you’ll undoubtedly root for Tessa the Valkyrie and Sebastian the vampire to overcome obstacles to their union. If you are new to Painter’s Nocturne Falls, this charming short story is just the tip of the Nocturne Falls series’ iceberg of fun, fully fleshed out paranormal characters, great mystery plots, all with a heartfelt tone. More than the usual smexy feisty heroine and the gorgeous jerk typical romance fare, you get a lot of real love in these stories, people coming to understand and appreciate how they are different from each other. Tessa and Sebastian are a perfect example. Painter manages to make a plain librarian and a man with the temperament of a persnickety account appealing by showing the transformative power of love. If the rest of the stories are this good, I can't wait to read the rest of the anthology!

Tessa's parents have decided that they would find her a man to marry, unbeknownst to Tessa...until they announce this at the same time that Tessa announces that she is in a relationship with Sebastian...what happens next is something that could only happen in the world of Nocturne Falls and the imagination of Kristen Painter. Tessa's parents decide that there must be some "trials" completed to show that he is worthy of her and that he loves her....Sebastian must pass 3 to prove this....can he? will he? will they have a happily ever after? This short story packs the punch of a full length novel and will leave readers instantly wanting more. This brief glimpse just isn't enough to satisfy the readers need for this town, the characters and the adventures that are sure to follow. If you haven't started this series, then you MUST now! Do yourself a favor and get started in this amazing world! I really, really, really wish that author Kristen Painter would create this town in real life! Sit back and spend some time with some of your new best friends! Enjoy!

I will add to this review as I finish each book. Kristen Painter's The Vampire's True Love Trials 5 Stars This book was amazing just like all Kristen's books are. I devoured it. I can't imagine the pain they felt for a year of separation. As always, this story also had lots of action in it with the bad vamps. If you haven't read this author's work, you're missing out! Her books are awesome with great Alpha characters. This one is great as a stand alone but you get so much more by reading the other books and knowing the fun and crazy personailties of the enforcers. Im in heaven.

This is for Kristen Painter's The Vampire's True Love Trials. This short story and boy was it short, took no time at all for me to read it. Let me say upfront here that I usually avoid reading short stories because they just don't have the level of detail that I crave when I'm reading. As they are a short in nature, everything always feels rushed to me, but to be fair that is the main point of them. So that is basically my only grip with this book and why its 4 stars for me and not 5. For me the This is for Kristen Painter's The Vampire's True Love Trials. I loved being able to revisit one of the Nocturnal Falls couples after their initial story. Boy did Tessa's problem about her parents promising her hand in marriage to another man not sit well to me. Obviously this issue is one I dont agree with. Good fiction is one that invokes emotion within you, no matter what emotions they are. And that aspect sure mad me mad. Once again I'm looking forward to meeting other citizens of nocturnal falls and I'm waiting to see who we meet next.
