This is one of my favorite series and while I love Hawk's Peak, I love Chance just as much! Each book is fantastic on its own, and a brief review of each is below: GRAVETENDER'S LIST This was another excellent book! The relationship between Andie and Travis was realistic, and I just couldn't get enough of them. The secondary characters were great as well! The mystery was intriguing and I was surprised by the killer's identity. The pace of the story was perfect, and as usual, I couldn't put the boo This is one of my favorite series and while I love Hawk's Peak, I love Chance just as much! The pace of the story was perfect, and as usual, I couldn't put the book down!! ABOUT A GIRL Lindy vows to protect her niece Sara at all costs, and Distract Attorney Tucker is right be her side to make sure justice is served. While this book certainly had some dark themes (child abuse, etc.) it wasn't over the top. This story had a strong family element that I really enjoyed. Sara was just darling, and it was nice to watch Lindy repair the relationship with her sister. The romance was also great, (as always!) -- I just loved Tucker! He was the perfect hero and it was magic to watch him and Lindy together. NOT BY CHANCE I am so excited that Cole finally got his own story! We first met Cole in GRAVETENDER'S LIST, which ended with Cole becoming the chief of police in Chance. When Cole meets Kaitlin, they are instantly drawn to each other. Kaitlin is keeping some secrets and will need Cole to help her determine her mother's killer. But how will Cole react when he realizes how Kaitlin really is and who she suspects of murdering her mother--Cole's father? I've said this before, but I love this series because each book feels fresh and it doesn't seem like I'm re-reading the same story with slightly different characters. While the plot of this book does have some similar characteristics to Travis's story, things are taken in a different direction. Travis and Cole are every different characters, and this story took a different turn since Cole was already so personally involved in the case. Even though Andie and Kaitlin both left and then returned to Chance, it didn't feel like a repeated story line. Kaitlin returned under a different name with no living ties to the community, which gave this book a different sort of intrigue. We also got to catch up with some previous characters (Travis, Andie, Lindy, and Charlene) which I just loved! The pacing of the story was great, and I'm glad some plot points weren't dragged out like they easily could have been. MISSED CHANCE This book was especially great because we got to catch up with so many familiar faces from both Chance and Hawk's Peak! Skylar fell hard for bad boy Morgan back in high school, and they had one memorable night. When Morgan stumbles back into Chance, and directly into Skylar, it is clear that the flame is still there. This was, as usual, a fantastic read. Skylar was spunky, brave, and loyal. I loved that she finally let her true self (and her true hair color) show. Morgan was the perfect bad boy yet good guy. The secondary characters were also great! I especially loved Skylar's mother! And the ending!! Just perfect for all involved! And I can't forget about Biscuit! As always, this book had the perfect mix of romance and mystery. While I had almost expected one of the villains, I was completely surprised by the other! There was lots of action, as well as a bit of the second chance love story that I just adore. I hope this series never ends!
