This book is a story about women. Different and strong in their unique ways, battling against a world of men and their injustices. I loved reading about them and how sisterhood can destroy and save you at the same time. I recommend this book for any girl who wants to be inspired to live her life as you wish.

This is a beautiful story. I really felt for all the characters and I couldn't put the book down until the last page. I did cry at some parts and story and character wise was this book incredible. The writing is nice, but it sadly wasn't that exceptional prose that would have made this a 5 star book. This is a beautiful story. After coming across this book I decided to read it as I had just previously read two other very different styles of books with mermaids It’s set in Northern England about the late 1700’s/early 1800’s. The prologue’s story is about a young sea captain who nearly drowned, then later as an old man yearns to return to the love he found in the sea. Two generations later. The prologue’s story is about a young sea captain who nearly drowned, then later as an old man yearns to return to the love he found in the sea. Two generations later. A young doctor’s daughter finds out that the young man she married after a hasty engagement, is not a well-to-do landowner but a simple farmer in a remote area by the northern sea. Then after giving him four beautiful daughters he abandons her and her daughters in their small cabin by the sea. It wasn’t like I expected to be. It’s a very strange, melancholy story similar in style to Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. And while there are mermaids in the story, the siren is actually a human woman and her four daughters who unknowingly lure ships toward their lonely cabin by singing out on the rocks to the mermaids. But toward the end the connection between the women and the mermaids is very strong. I’m curious though. It’s never explained what they told Sir Charles about his daughter Sophia. Fave scenes: the bag of gold, Emily feeding the chickens, Henry’s return & surprise, Karen & Manae’s rescue and the unusual family reunion.

An absolutely wonderful book! Love mermaid books and this is absolutely the best. The only negative, is lack of good editing. But, not a lot so they can be overlooked. I don’t think I can really tell you the story without spoiling it for you, and I really don’t want to do that. So read the summary, buy the book, and dive into it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I wholeheartedly recommend it. I wish the author had other books published, but it seems not yet.

Lovely I imagine that it was difficult to stop writing this story. The ebb and flow of their lives is something that you want to watch forever. Light with enough dark to keep you interested. You will enjoy this book.

Lots of twists and turns. Odd but interesting I thought the concept of this book was interesting and original. There were a lot of twists and turns in the book, but some parts I found predictable.

I think you need to proof read. This needs to be proofread through. Many times I found sentences hanging and then went on to a new paragraph wondering what happened. Could be a good read but after it was happening again and again I quit reading it

There is..... .....a serenity about this story that just took hold of me. Each time there was a fork in the story, it seemed to hesitate with the options, then take the right direction. It left me feeling calm and satisfied.

Lovely This was a story that kept me reading. It was peaceful and so well written. I felt the characters’ pain, their joy, and even their loss. Watching the characters grow and unfold was wonderful. Thank you for this read!
