I received an ARC from the author and have chosen to review it. I hate giving negative reviews but I just didn’t enjoy this book. It didn’t suck me into its world like a good book should do. I had difficulty even finishing this book. This book wasn’t a long book and so it only has so long to grab your attention and this book just didn’t do it for me. The only thing I will remember from reading this book is that I wasted an afternoon trying to read it.

This series is so much fun! Ok so, Ruthie is the main character in this book and she gets the opportunity to go on a reality TV show that is filmed on a cruise ship. Miss Ruthie ends up signing the contract without actually reading it and is in for a few (and by "a few," I mean a lot) of surprises. I really enjoyed the book but kinda wish the love interest came into play sooner. This series is so much fun! Cruising (The Escape Series Book 2) by Ann Omasta is the story about the younger sister (Ruthie) of Roxy Rose, whose story was told in Getting Lei'd (The Escape Series Book 1.) Much laughter and gaiety follows, and one of the other guests in the restaurant approaches Ruthie and offers her a chance to become a reality internet show star on a cruise. Without much thought, Ruthie says yes. Before she knows it she is off on the cruise that will make her America's sweetheart. Unfortunately, Ruthie didn't bother to read her contract, doesn't actually have a cruise ship ticket, and has no real idea what to expect. Fortunately she is assigned a personal makeup artist/hair stylist who is genuinely a nice guy. He advises Ruthie and makes her beautiful for the first event...her wedding. Wait! Wedding? And the fun begins! So many twists and surprises await Ruthie. What looks like a lucky match made in reality show land turns sour, and another surprise has her thinking wedding bells for sure. So many things that can go wrong including finding out she can have money or love but not both. Through it all, her stylist Sal, is the only person she can count on. This was a fun read that faced so many situations both real and interpreted by the cameras. I loved the book and it was over way too quickly. I will say I had many surprises as I read it! I highly recommend this book.

Cute, quick beachy romance. It was a sweet story, albeit lacking substance. But overall an enjoyable quick read, perfect for beach or pool lounging.

The prize was quarter of a million dollars, however Ruthie had agreed to marry a man she had never met! There were two other couples and Ruthie soon noticed it was obvious that they were being craftily edited, creating the three chosen girls as the producer wanted them to appear. One was to be portrayed as a femme fatale, one as an airhead and one as a greedy spoilt brat. Truth had little to do with the reality show. Luckily for Ruthie her make up and hair stylist Syd took her under his wing and tried to perk up her confidance, as Ruthie found that she was being shown as a very spoilt brat with no chance of telling the audience how clever editing had changed most of the things she said and did. Ruthie was married to a creep whose very first kiss turned her off him. What he did on their wedding night was quite sleazy making her realise that her marriage was simply a huge disaster. With the audience not on her side whatsoever, Ruthie had to find a way to survive the cruise. With Syd's help she managed to continue and the story had a surprising twist.

Ruthie didn't really read the contract she signed and she is surprised to find out she is supposed to get married the first night on the ship. her husband is Cam and Ruthie is not really attracted to him. As Ruthie goes through the show she is definitely not the American Sweetheart she was expecting but rather portrayed as a brat. When Ruthie's past comes on the ship she thinks she has found a way to get through this reality show. Is his being on the ship fate? Could Ruthie actually be getting a chance with her high school crush? You will find yourself laughing at Syd and Baggy. He will understand the "personalities" on the reality show and how things can be spliced to appear what they are not. I received this book and am leaving an honest voluntary opinion

Ruthie is coerced and badly treated by the production company that chooses her for their new couples reality show, but, really, she let it happen. The Cruising for Love reality show did not grab me as I thought it might and what happened to the bulk of the ship passengers? They are mysteriously MIA when Ruthie and the reality cast are moving about the cruise ship! I liked the earlier romance for her sister Roxy better. The writing flows well and makes it an easy read. The romantic overtures progress to fourth base pretty fast. I found the rapidity and depth of their connection a bit unrealistic even though they knew each other as teens. Ruthie's grand, unrequited love does not really jive with her behavior in Getting Lei'd. My favorite part of the story is the ending, after Ruthie's zany Grandma Baggy hits the deck and the reality show goes rogue. Grand gestures also made the ending satisfyingly romantic and upbeat.

CRUISING FOR LOVE is the second book of the Escape series. Roxy’s flighty sister, Ruthie, is approached by a producer and signs up to be in a reality show onboard a cruise ship without actually reading the contract. She ends up with three gorgeous men in her life – Cameron (the groom the show marries her off to on the first night of the cruise), Syd (her stylist who becomes her confidante), and Andrew (her first crush from high school who just happens to be on the same ship). There are plenty of misunderstandings and manufactured trouble (after all, this is “reality” TV – insert eye-roll). I don’t watch reality TV and I don’t watch mean girl types of shows, so there wasn’t a lot I liked about most of the other characters, but Syd, the stylist, was amazing. Then there was Ruthie and Andrew – #TeamRuRew – I was rooting for them from the moment he followed her out of the auditorium. If only all crushes led to happily-ever-afters. One final thought: I’m always surprised by how much the books I’m reading seem to parallel my life at the time. Imagine the oddness that I have been approached by a casting director this week. It’s never happened before. Yet, this week while reading this book, it did. Is it any wonder I prefer to read happy and romantic stories? Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Besides the fact that in a lot of ways Ruthie deserves every problem she got for not even reading the contract, the idea that the show was not even professional enough to make sure she had a  ticket - nor did Ruthie question the fact that she didn't have a ticket onto the cruise should be the first indication of how this book would continue.   Again, suspend belief, give this book a lot of leeway because it is a romance and the plot seems superficial to the idea of the romance itself. And let's just hope Ruthie remembers that the marriage on the cruise that started this reality show, needs to be dissolved before her HEA can really begin.

Cruising for Love by Ann Omasta is a comical look at reality romance shows that really aren’t so much reality after all. If you ever had any doubts about the shows, this will only add to it. I could see a young Goldie Hawn perfect playing this character. She is an easy character to find endearing and charming. Making her sidekick stylist, Sal is just what Ruthie needed. I loved these two together. Ruthie’s love interests are more complex. It is part of the story to figure out which one the show really wanted her to have to choose. This is what kept me reading, then the ending while seemingly predictable was anything but. The first book I have read by Ann Omasta is a keeper, so now I have a new author on my TBR list. Yeah! 4.5 Stars

What a fun, hilarious book. I so enjoyed the entire book laughing all the way. The main female character, Ruthie, was so funny and very klutz tripping and dropping things all the time.. When Ruthie accepts to take part in a reality tv show called 'Cruising for love' the readers already get a feeling that it might not be a very good idea. Once on the boat she is told what's about to happen in the first episode and she wished she would have read the contract before signing. A fun and entertaining romance read / listen with some great twists. Ruthie is fun and funny and Omasta does a great job of making you root for this klutzy heroine. Thrown unawares time and again you will be cheering for her to find her happily ever after. Throw in the mix a comedic granny and you've got a winning story line. Good story line flow - I was captured through out and still eager for more on Ruthie and Andrew... Loved it! This was a really good read! Funny, sad, romantic, sexy, infuriating and back again. This book has the kind of love we wish we all had. Also makes you wonder how close to reality tv this really is too. You really get involved with the characters and have to root for them. Loved the grandma! She was hilarious! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

CRUISING FOR LOVE by Ann Omasta is an amusing book, which I initially thought was too light-weight for my usual preferences but had me laughing out loud before I got too far into it. The description of the cruise ship is realistic as are the people who are part of this adventure. The primary characters are quirky and entertaining. If and when you want to read a book that is a few hours of fluff for most readers, this is your book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

This book does not turn out how you originally think and I loved the little twists in it. Ruthie gets herself into some hot water when she agrees to go on a reality show without reading the contract. She is picturing a dating show where she has choices and gets to date a few men. Boy was she wrong! I love that this book was not predictable from page one and loved the ultimate message in the end.

Kindle Copy for Review Roxie’s sister Ruthie Rose is looking for love on a reality show. It is an ideal venture for her to star in a new hot reality show. Unfortunately she does not quite read what she is signing herself into as she jumps into it without any worries. We watch her get over her head as she seeks fame and a husband. Hilarious events will soon follow. An amusing quick read.

Cruising for Love: The Escape Series, Book Two was a great read by Ann Omasta. Ruthie has been selected for a new reality television show which is a dream come true for her. She doesn't read the fine print of the contract before she signs the contract. The TV show is filmed on a cruise ship and many surprises happen that no one expects. Her stylist Sal is the only person that she can rely on. I loved reading this story and can't wait to read more by Ann Omasta. If you like reality TV, this story is for you. I really felt for Ruthie. She seems a little like the girl next door but with a wild unpredictable streak. She seems naive, maybe like the ditzy blonde she had been talking about. As a result, she is continually surprised by what the show is all about and thrust into some interesting circumstances. Ann Omasta did a wonderful job narrating. I recieved a free Audible copy of this story in exchange for a honest review.
