On the "paranormal/fantasy" bookshelf, I really love stories about demons. This story gives us a deeper understanding about Empusa and why she is who she is. She's a redhead and she's not afraid to show it. Empusa has almost this endearing (if that's the right word) quality to her. It's weird to say a demon is endearing, but she just sticks with you. You want to come back to her story. You want more of it and her. I enjoyed getting to know more about her, and am looking forward to more. "She might be small, she might be young, but she was the daughter of a goddess and no one would beat her." When Pythia delivers bad news to Zeus that a redheaded demon would be his downfall, he is determined to stop that prophecy from coming true. He believes the demon is Empusa, daughter of Hecate and Mormo (a female specter), and he forces Hecate to destroy her only daughter or else, but Hecate knows her daughter is pure and harmless. Empusa, full of childlike innocence and happy being with her "She might be small, she might be young, but she was the daughter of a goddess and no one would beat her." He believes the demon is Empusa, daughter of Hecate and Mormo (a female specter), and he forces Hecate to destroy her only daughter or else, but Hecate knows her daughter is pure and harmless. Empusa, full of childlike innocence and happy being with her family and running the fields in her true form, is forced to grow up. Hecate unlocks Empusa’s powers early to change her appearance but when that doesn’t work, she’s forced to send her into Gehenna. Empy doesn’t understand why her mother would do such a thing but it was Hecate’s only choice, and she knows her daughter is strong, she can survive hell. Going in young, Empy isn’t prepared for what she faces but in hell, it’s survival of the fittest. It doesn’t take long for her to come into her full powers, to gain fear and respect from all the demons residing there, and she vows not to stop fighting until she is out and everyone responsible for sending her to Gehenna is dead…but the only way out of Gehenna is death. I love Empusa. She’s a take charge, rule with an iron fist, do whatever she wants, kick ass female lead, and I wanna grow up to be just like her. Seriously, I love this story. The author did a GREAT job and you will have no problems getting sucked into Empy’s world.

Loved it A short little novella about Empusa. It's eased some of my curiosity, but now I am even more curious. Can't wait to start the next one. Loved it A short little novella about Empusa. It's eased some of my curiosity, but now I am even more curious. Can't wait to start the next one.
