Ajay is a planner for life; Bhavna makes him live in every moment. The story starts with engineering college in Allahabad where they met and fall for each other. A sweet story of college and lack of money but rich by heart. A four-year relationship become long-distance relationship when Bhavna started work in Hyderabad and Ajay goes to Pune for his MBA. This story told with frankness and doses of humor. An inter-caste marriage was a very big deal for their families but they do everything to convince their parents and never surrender. It's a profound journey and struggles with life shows excellently after his beloved wife left him midway. But the last word of Bhavna, 'You are the best husband' gave him the strength to live on and fulfill his promise of love. He searches for a reason to be happy and start working with an NGO after Bhavna's death. It's not easy for him until he decides to live his life with Bhavna's memories. He understands that quality of life is what matters, not the quantity. It's a very innocent love story and described very well. The author uses simple words which are easily understandable. This story gives you goosebumps. It takes an exceptional amount of courage and determination to pen something like this and all proceeds from this book will be donated through Bhavna Charitable Trust. All in all, it's a very emotional story and I would recommend it to all. There are two kinds of personalities. There are those who have everything and still complain as if they have nothing. And there are those who lose everything and act like life has given them everything. Sometimes both these personalities exist in the same soul. Kill the first one, I love the second. - Bhavna

It seemed as if an era had passed since I read a book by Srishti which was based on a true love story until I picked up Ajay K Pandey’s debut book- “You are the best wife”. Author claims that it’s his and his wife, Bhavna’s true love story about their love and marriage. The back cover of the book also claims that all the proceeds from this book will be donated through Bhavna Charitable Trust (an initiative by author’s wife’s parents). The back cover of the book also claims that all the proceeds from this book will be donated through Bhavna Charitable Trust (an initiative by author’s wife’s parents). Well, coming back to the book, it’s written with pure emotions and love. In every sentence whenever author described love for his wife shows his innocence and devotion. This book is from the genre which Srishti used to publish some 3-4 years ago consisting of a love story with little involvement of friends in it. Fortunately, this book doesn’t involve unwanted sex and intimate scenes. Author have kept the content as decent as possible from his end. Coming to Ajay’s writing style, it’s very impressive that his command on English language is fine even when he never aspired to be a writer. As this is his debut work, in few sentences, the struggle for sentence formation is visible but still his command is better than few bestseller writers. He has used simple words which makes this book a good companion while traveling. This book is more about how two lovers who have fallen in love are in struggle to get their parents’ approval for their marriage. Through the story, author have tried to show the problems couples deal during inter-caste marriages. This book can be called poor man’s “2 States”. The first half of the book tells about how the protagonist’s college life begins with ragging and new friendships. Suddenly it switches to how the protagonist finds a girl attractive and woos her with his style. Afterwards, the book moves towards another dimension when parents get involved and from here, the struggle that both the lead characters go through is discussed. I wished if author could have entered some humour, the book would have become more interesting to read. It’s not that he haven’t tried but its ineffective most of the times. Author have concentrated more towards keeping this book as real as possible but he should have fictionalized little more to add masala and made it a dramatic story. Anyways, the second half deals with what happens in their life after marriage. Author describes how the same girl starts stating her point of view which interjects with his lifestyle and the small clashes start taking place. Later on, book moves towards serious note and I recalled another book by Srishti and Ravinder Singh- “I too had a love story”. Author have described how the protagonist’s life suddenly changes and the difficulty he faces. Overall, the book is a light read which you can finish in a single sitting of 3-4 hours. It’s an average stuff- neither very good nor bad. You can surely gift this one to your partner this Valentine Day. I give this attempt 3 stars out of 5. It’s for romantic folks out there. Thanks. If this book can be divided into 2 books, viz. Book-I and Book-II, I would give Book-I a 2.5 star and Book-II - a 3.5 star. Narration - 2.5/5 - Ajay pandey has a sense of humor, which made me smile every time he cracked a joke or delivered a punch. But the language was so commonplace and shallow that at times when there was no humor, it got difficult for me to continue reading the book. I was searching for nuances that could fill the gaps between an exciting event or humor, but didn't find many. While reading Book-I, i had to stop myself from leaving the book mid-way. But given the fact that the intent of writing this was not to be an author, but to narrate once life story, I think it is a good effort. Having said that, the Book-II is heart-wrenching and knowing that it is a true story makes you want to pat on the author's shoulder and say - Everything'd be fine. Entertainment quotient - 3/5 - Author's humor is his forte. I think he should use that more often in his narration to keep the entertainment quotient high. Also, I don't want to hear an incident as-is, but would rather be keen in author's perspectives and thoughts on it. And those thoughts should provoke me to think. That makes the story more entertaining and makes the reader feel that he is living the protagonist's life. Climax - 5/5 - It does not feel right to rate the climax, as it is a true story of someone's loss. But it is very beautifully presented and as a reader, I truly felt for the author. Overall, a decent read. Read it to know that life can be extremely challenging at times and things can go wrong, but you should NEVER SURRENDER!!

4.8⭐ I am not an Indian citizen but I thank God I have an Indian fiancé who helped me pave a path for me and this book to come across each other. I am certainly heartbroken and shattered by this book. The story is a roller coaster ride. Though there is no stronger emotion than pain and it's the impression that give me out from this book. There are only two books that made me cry, this is the third. I have read a lot of book and I must say that I am not a fan of the way the author writes. I know this is his debut book and there are a lot of rooms for improvement. However, I am just saying that statement for this book. The first happy parts have the unsatisfactory writing style for me. I stayed for the story and the story alone. I have a lot of cringe moments to his cheesy lines. The cheesy lines are good but the way they are delivered are not so good to me. I also am not a fan of his metaphors. The author sometimes compares things that makes me weirded out. I don't know, maybe just me. The parts where the sad things come have better structure for me. The way the writer writes seems to drastically change. It is better! Or maybe it is just because I am so focus to the pain that I can't distinguish the way of writing. Nevertheless, I am convince that the writing is better. I knew this will be sad and I love sad stories and I am hopeful that this will make me cry. And it did. I am so grateful for the tears and the pain. I don't know but I love tragic stories because they make me cry. But I will never wish for that on anyone. This just gave me worst pain knowing it is a real story. I love Ajay and Bhavna. Their story is an addition to the stories I cherish. I will definitely remember this. Overall it is such a great read! I am so happy to have stumbled upon this while searching for books. I am deeply honored and happy.

We have all read, countless times about the engineering guy who goes to a hostel and falls for a girl. Also, the caste issues, while very relevant, have been seen in so many books now, it becomes hard to figure out which book had what characters.

A love story indeed. Reminded one of the original "Love Story" by Eric Segal written almost half a century ago. Such stories remain the same. Yet one likes to read them over and over again........and shed a tear or two as one goes along. The feelings are the same. Age does not matter. A love story indeed. True love stories and college stories are quite common in the Indian market. But I must confess that, though this falls in the most common genre, this book is unique. I loved this book for many reasons. Autobiographical books are always prone to conflict of interest, but I must say this one is an exception. I have a feeling that this is the most honest book I have ever read. When I read the prologue, it gave me a melancholic feeling. I made up my mind that this book is a tragedy. I have a feeling that this is the most honest book I have ever read. When I read the prologue, it gave me a melancholic feeling. I made up my mind that this book is a tragedy. But I must say, this book is about the alchemic power of love. Ajay was a selfish and miser, who always thought about himself. Bhavna is a benevolent and adorable person who is not difficult to fall in love with. Ajay, then experiences the magic of love – Magic that transforms him into a completely different person. The book starts with a glimpse of the author’s college life, which is humorous and refreshing. The initial few pages were nothing but the college life, giving you the image of a typical college life. Then comes love which is simple and beautiful. The rest of the book deals with the struggle - struggle for love, struggle for life. The author had portrayed emotions so well. The characters are well defined. They stay with you long after you have read it. “Whether I’m with you or not, if you lose interest in life, start living for others.” – These are the words of Bhavna that forms the crux of the story. Such a noble thought. The author lives every word of it. The author’s argument about how long you live is not how much you live, is very enlightening. The aftermath of tragedy was beautifully written. The box of mentos candy that makes a poor kid smile, which in turn reveals the true meaning of happiness to the author, is really heartening. The story ends with a positive note. The story does not speak about two extraordinary people, but extraordinary love.

Life is meant to be lived to the fullest and the only secret that can make you cross each and every hurdle that comes across your life is hidden in these two words, ‘Never Surrender.’ Every one faces some dark patches in their life. Some hide them in the darkest corner of their heart and lives with them forever, others pour them on paper and let turn them into immortals. ‘You are the best wife’ by Ajay K. Pandey is not actually a book to read but a book to feel. It’s a kind of a challenge to god that ‘yes you are the creator, you can take her back as well but I can create as well’. Ajay created her wife Bhavna back. Now coming out of the hues of the story, let me do the work I was chosen for. The review work. Firstly the cover of the book tells you the basic theme of the book and the subtitle ‘A true love story’, grips you with it emotionally. Blurb talks a bit about the characters of the book, that is, Ajay and Bhavna and the situation they had suffered from. Now coming to the story. Ajay being a debutant is did a great job in writing this book. His writing style is pretty good, not at all seems like someone is writing book for the first time or so. He uses little elements in the dialogue that touches heart. First few chapters lacks in comparison to the overall experience of the book because we are actually fad up of reading those college stories. But Ajay quickly comes out of that phase and tries to create a better image of Bhavna’s character in the mind of the reader. Another thing that I loved about the book was that I had a presumption by watching the cover of the book that this book will have its major part about the struggle with life that means the detailing of the Bhavna’s tragedy but surprisingly, Ajay wasn’t in mood to break readers but focused more on the ‘liveliness of Bhavna’. There are few points about the book that left me numb. First was the letter that Ajay wrote after his failed attempt in fetching a job and the reaction of Bhavna over it. Another point was, when Ajay gave a fictitious ending to the story for all those who believe in happy ending. That was the point when I literally chuckled on the irony of life. One more letter that I had to mention where I couldn’t control my tears at all was Ajay’s letter to Bhavna’s mother on behalf of Bhavna, after her death. These are only few of the magic moments of the book. There were many in the book. Overall, this book is something that will take you on a journey which reveals many truths about life. I did learn one thing from this book that life is not about the number of years that you have lived; life is about the number of moments that you have enjoyed. Do read this book and let Bhavna live in your hearts forever. P.S.: I have one rule in my life. When I love a book that I have read as a ‘review copy’, I do buy a copy of it and gift it to someone. I’ll buy few more copies this time.

The cover of the book is appealing and the title intriguing enough that it had my interest piqued to know more. The blurb is simple but does the needful and is able to engage the readers' interest in the book. This is Ajay K. Pandey's debut book which shows right from the start. His writing style is simple and he seems to be grappling with sentence construction at times but despite this the story is heartfelt and written passionately. The author was able to ignite and then retain my interest in his story right till the end. Each and every word seems to be written right from his heart and had me empathizing with him and then admiring his wife who comes out as a kind, loyal, intelligent and very wise woman. Had she been alive I would really have loved to meet her and get to know her! This book had me remembering another recently read true romantic account by a yet another Indian author who also wrote about his true love, the upheaval he faced following his love's painful death and the struggle he faced while making good the promise he had made to her just before her death. The book I kept remembering is Keeping the Promises by Dhruv Gajjar. Just like Keeping the Promises, You Are the Best Wife also had me feeling a multitude of emotions right from the dreamy happiness of finding first love to the soul shattering hopelessness of watching your soul mate die. The author takes the reader on a journey of life right from his college days when he found his to-be-wife to facing the difficulties of getting his family agree to his marriage to the journey after his marriage that shaped his life. The pace of the story is a bit slow in the first part and then picks up speed in the second part. I felt one with the author and was able to feel everything he wanted to convey through his book. Ajay's effort is noteworthy and his book will surely touch a cord with every reader. A decent and very promising effort from the author, I enjoyed reading You Are the Best Wife and spent a memorable time following the author down the memory lane. This is a book that can be read in one sitting in some four to five hours and is a great gifting option. 4 out of 5 to it and recommended to all lovers of heartfelt true romances.

‘Honest and straight from the heart’ is the only phrase that comes to my mind as I start this review. Reading the blurb, prologue and about the author, it was known that it’s someone’s true story and a debut effort, so I wasn’t looking for a literary piece. Anyone’s real life story, who is not a celebrity doesn’t generate interest immediately, but I was hooked the moment I began reading about college days, ragging, and heady emotions associated with that period. Anyone’s real life story, who is not a celebrity doesn’t generate interest immediately, but I was hooked the moment I began reading about college days, ragging, and heady emotions associated with that period. It was as if I have been transported back in time. Author has converted his simple, everyday story into an engaging read for almost the first two-thirds of the book, and the rest into an emotional, heart-wrenching saga. After one-third of the book, he seized to be an author for me and became more a human being, a fellow student, a colleague, a friend. So I have decided to review the book in two parts; one for the loving son and husband and the other for the mechanics of book as a product. Bhavna was an exceptional girl with a large heart and this book is like an ode to their love. It takes exceptional amount of courage and determination to pen something like this. As it is difficult to relive the moments with your loved ones who are no more, and thinking about the good times also brings back the ‘have nots’ or ‘have beens’. The protagonist has done a commendable job of pouring his heart out on the plain paper, and I salute him for this. I loved the way he has written the book—taking potshots at himself, his thinking, his reactions to the events happening around him. The narration of events, though linear, many a times makes you smile, and also tear-jerking emotional. The end lingers on the mind for a long time; fathoming and questioning the mysteries of destiny and fate. Coming to the book; it is well executed. Narration in first person is simple and engaging. There were some places where I think the editor should have paid more attention to phrasing of certain thoughts. In India we have a certain way of saying/thinking. We tend to think in Hindi and literally translate it in English, which doesn’t fit into the context correctly. There were a few mistakes like these which don’t gel well. The one star that I have taken away from the rating is for this very element. All in all a very emotional story and I would recommend it to all. Disclaimer: I got this book from WritersMelon for an honest review.

Since it is the true love story of the author, I really have the utmost respect for the author's emotions with which he has penned down the book, in the memory of his loving wife, Bhavna. The best thing about the book is definitely Bhavna. Her character, her words and her loving nature definitely touched my heart. It is Bhavna's beautiful nature that inspired Ajay to find his happiness in helping others after she passed away. It is due to to the same reason that Ajay had written this book, in the memory of Bhavna. In short, Bhavna made Ajay a stronger, a wiser and a better human being in all aspects. That is after all the beauty and magic of love, isn't it? Now, talking about the story, there is nothing new. However, despite the drawbacks in the writing and the monotony in the story, it is Bhavna's beautiful nature and the author's love for his wife that will linger behind. It's been quite a long time since something this beautiful was published in India. The only thing that mostly comes out even from the really amazing word-smiths is mostly politics and/or sleaze. Kudos to the author for his efforts and bringing out this story despite of what it might have cost him emotionally for doing so.

Through this book, the author has made his wife's story immortal and thus, has written an emotional account of his journey with her. My prayers are with him for his lose. But coming back to the book, in first-half I barely felt anything; it was just another college and engineering story. Later after skimming through 100 something pages, I could find a story. But I don't think I will criticize it any further, owing it being the first book by the author. Light read for love and campus romance read Through this book, the author has made his wife's story immortal and thus, has written an emotional account of his journey with her. My prayers are with him for his lose. But coming back to the book, in first-half I barely felt anything; it was just another college and engineering story. Just completed this wonderful real tale of love by Ajay Pandey. This story is about the real life journey of the author. Life after their marriage was both remarkable and heartbreaking. Love is unconditional💖! There would be so many beautiful moments in love that we can cherish forever. Both Ajay and Bhavna are also having countless reminiscences to be adored. Counting all the emotional dramas they made up to succeed in their love,I just loved each and every inch of this story. And the unheralded twist here is really excruciating that ll make our eyes soaked in tears. This story makes us to feel every minute of our life is so important. Each move towards our loved ones are noteworthy. All relationships have one law! "Never make the one you love feel alone, especially when you are there".

*YOU ARE THE BEST WIFE: A TRUE LOVE STORY* TALE OF AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER Being a beginner, I always search for light read books so that's easy for me to read and develop the habit of reading. After wasting my time and money on "This is not your story" by Savi Sharma, I almost felt that contemporary romantic dramas are not my cup of tea. With much hesitation, I started my reading journey with this book and I am glad I have chosen this one which made me realize not all love stories are crap and that you have to choose the right book. "You are the best wife" is penned by author Ajay K Pandey. It is the journey of his own life with his beloved wife Bhavna. This story brings together two different souls with different ideologies into the bond of eternal love and marriage. Ajay, a middle class Brahmin guy after trying hard and soul to get into IIT for two years finally grabbed his seat in IERT Allahabad where he meets a girl named Bhavna and falls for her who belongs to a Kayastha family. They have a tough time to convince their orthodox families to accept their inter-caste marriages. However, after all the struggles and emotional dramas, they get married by the consent of their respective families. They live the happiest moments of life with each other until destiny reveals its plan. Their blissful life of nine and a half years is shattered when Bhavna gets affected from the deadly Septicemia following her death. "You are the best wife" has been written extremely passionately and the language is so simple yet the meaning so intense. The prologue of the story is actually a part of the climax. The author has used doses of humour to narrate his story which makes it a wonderful read. The plot is simple yet intriguing. I like the way the author has avoided unnecessary intimate scenes which is a trend nowadays in this genre. The book is written with the motive of keeping Bhavna and her memories alive through words. I think both Bhavna and Ajay give some serious relationship goals. As I went on turning the pages, I could vividly imagine all the incidents and felt each and every words described from the core of my heart. It is indeed an emotional roller coaster which make us laugh and cry at the same time. The climax is extremely painful and intense. There are many life changing beautiful quotes throughout like- "It's easy to make friends but difficult to keep them" "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” "There are two kinds of personalities. There are those who have everything and still complain as if they have nothing. And there are those who lose everything and act like life has given them everything Sometimes both these personalities exist in the same soul. Kill the first one, I love the second" In fine, I found this debut book to be a masterpiece by Ajay K Pandey. It is a true love story with no fancy unrealistic incidents or drama and an exellent read. I highly recommend this book to read atleast once in a lifetime but be mentally prepared guys as this is extremely sentimental and emotional.

Ajay is a planner for life; Bhavna makes him live in every moment. You are the Best Wife is a story of two people with contradictory ideologies who fall in love. It changes them for good. It changes the way they look at the world and the way world looks at them. Until destiny reveals its plans. This is the true inspiring story of the author and his struggle with life, after his beloved wife left him halfway through their journey. But her last words, ‘you are the best husband’ gave him the strength to live on, and fulfill his promise of love. Told with frankness and doses of humor, this heartwarming tale of a boy and a girl who never gave up on their love in face of adversities, ends on a bitter sweet and poignant note as Ajay comes to terms with the biggest lesson life has to offer. About the story – This is a story about Ajay, who is a Bhramin. He falls in love with Bhavna, who is a Kayasth, during his college days. After so many ups and downs finally both set of parents agree to their marriage and they both settle down happily. But after spending two amazing years with each other, one night suddenly Bhawna starts shivering. She is diagnosed with dengue. But with each passing hour, her situation deteriorates. And in the end, she is diagnosed with septicaemia. And in the end, she left everyone. My verdict – This is a heart touching story. It has the tendency to make a person cry. My mind ran back to 2011, when I’d read I too had a love story. No story till date couldn’t match it but You are the Best Wife simply touched my heart. Whenever I read stories in which two loving hearts got separate, I die a little inside. My love and sympathy is for author. A beautiful piece of writing with perfect blend of emotions. One should definitely give it a try.

I'm generally lazy to write reviews, though not to read books, which I do a lot. But this book forced me to write a review for many reasons. I would like almost all the books I read, but I would be amazed by a very few. This book is one of the very few. The humor is good and the presentation is also good. But what is extraordinary? Extraordinary thing is that the author has an uncanny knack of sucking you into the story. It's not the thrill or the plot, but honesty is what I liked the most. Why I say this is that I have read a lot of books which claimed to be a true story, but they contain more fiction than truth. But I somehow feel that this guy has been really honest amidst the so called true stories. When the deadly fate of the protagonist's wife is revealed I really felt the pain. I can't say how much this book touched me, but this is the book that has impacted me the most. I hate to compare, but this book is far better than 'I too had a love story'. Please mind that I also liked 'I too had a love story', but this book beats it hands down. I would gift this to my husband to show how much I, as a wife would want to be loved.

I'm personally and emotionally connected to the story. I didn't except this kind of ending. Heartbroken i was crying many times while reading last pages of this book. Firstly it was filled with humour enjoyed a lot. Simply love plot is same as two states movie's plot. And this book filled with a lot of motivational quotes. So my rating 5/5.
