After years of working in the Cater Springs’ clinic, Sarah Asher never planned on marriage. However, she neglected to mention that to her pa. Determined to fulfill his dying wish, despite her well-informed fears, Sarah marries Joseph Matthews but only after a few signed and sealed promises. One in particular—he can kiss any dreams of sharing a room with her goodbye. Joe h After years of working in the Cater Springs’ clinic, Sarah Asher never planned on marriage. One in particular—he can kiss any dreams of sharing a room with her goodbye. Joe has never had any luck with women, and marriage doesn’t seem prone to change that. Sarah might be a handsome filly and his only ticket to inheriting the ranch promised him, but she’s pricklier than a barrel cactus and more temperamental than a Texas tornado. I loved this story. It is a western that contains sadness and laughter and a few mishaps. I don't want to give away the story so I will stop and look for more in this series. I loved this story. She has created a sweet lovely Christian western romance that will grab your heart and make you feel good. Originally released as "Lets Make A Deal", it has been improved and expanded for your reading pleasure. This novella is the introduction of the Marriage & Mayhem Series; you will see these characters again in the first book titled "Win, Love, or Draw". Sarah Asher is no shrinking violet. She is a strong woman with opinions of her own; to honor her father's dying wish, she agrees to marry Joe Matthews. Joe has worked the family ranch for years and secretly attracted to Sarah. Sarah sets rules, in writing no less, before she will say her vows. After some dickering, Joe agrees to Sarah's terms uncertain how he will manage to survive this marriage under her terms. Come along with Sarah and Joe as they journey back home from the cattle drive facing danger, raging rivers, changing emotions, fear, and love. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT: Author Crystal Barnes is one of my favorite authors; I am never disappointed when I pick up one of her books. The characters in this book/novella are believable and very likeable. Sarah is strong, independent, opinionated, and has a strong belief in God; she is also afraid of the physical side of marriage as a friend has not fared well in her marriage. Ms. Barnes develops Sarah's character throughout the novella as Joe reveals himself to be a good God-fearing man who can be trusted with her person and life. Sarah and Joe have been friends for years, now they must find their way to a firm foundation for their marriage. Joe's character is wonderful. All men should have Joe's honor, insight, and faith. His character made me say "aah". He fights his attraction to honor Sarah's wishes. Joe is portrayed as a solid cowboy who possesses honor, wisdom, and great faith in God. Ms. Barnes includes adventure, humor, faith, and love in this short novella. This book has everything needed to create an interesting solid story. The plot and pacing was on target for the length of the book; the story never lagged and held my attention from the first page. As usual, Ms. Barnes mastery of the story-telling craft is evident. Ms. Barnes writing style is refreshing and clear. I found myself wishing the novella was longer as I was not ready to say to good-bye to Sarah and Joe and I wanted to know more about Sarah and Joe's past; I am excited to know Joe and Sarah will appear in the next book. RECOMMENDATION: 5 STARS I do not hesitate to recommend this novella to anyone that likes a clean, clear, solid well-written book. I look forward to the next book in this series; I am a sucker for an old fashion clean romance of the old west which includes a sigh worthy hero, a strong heroine, and Christian values. I received this book from the author in return for an honest book review. Book reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion; book reviews on line under my name and on my blog are my opinion.

Entertaining and enchanting, this delightful novella sees a young couple marry for obligation’s sake with zero expectations of love and with a fearful outlook for the bride. Joe (Joseph Mathews) might be honoring Sarah’s father’s dying request by marrying her in order to protect and care for her, but Sarah knows from her friends’ experience that husbands don’t always remain honorable. So she simply has Joe sign away his husbandly rights before the vows are exchanged. Joe thinks he can do this…until he develops feeling for Sarah. ‘Signed, Sealed, and Delighted’ was a delight to read and I’d definitely sign off on that! Sealed within is a great reminder that God is bigger than our circumstances, and we mustn’t allow fear to rob us of God’s blessings. An engaging story!

This is the third book by this author I have read. I love her stories! As expected, this one started out with a bang and never let up. Sarah Asher and Joseph Matthews end up at the altar because of a promise made to her dying father. Sarah is afraid because of what she knows about her friend's abusive marriage, and Joseph is afraid of breaking his promise. Vivid description immersed me in the heat, dust, and discomfort of driving a wagon across Texas. I loved the characters. Sarah is feisty without being unlikeable, and Joseph is a strong yet sensitive man. Highly recommended.

Signed, sealed and delighted Joe makes a promise to Sarah's dad right before he dies. The book starts out with them getting married. Sarah stops the wedding to have him agree to some things before they actually get married. After getting married, Joe has quite a time trying to protect Sarah. Definitely a delightful read. I did receive this book from the author for a honest review. Enjoyed it very much. Loved the characters of Sarah and Joe. I actually read the first and last chapter in the anthology "A Kiss is still a kiss." When I looked at the author's other books and discovered that it was actually longer, I went back and read the middle. This was a cute book. I liked watching things develop over a few days, and the author knows how to write a humorous scene for sure! I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, but I still enjoyed the read. Very nice story Was introduced to this author by a win in a contest. Best prize (only one) I ever won. She tells a compelling story that moves along nicely without a lot of description. The characters come to life on the pages and you see, with your imagination, what she is trying to put across.

A delightful cowboy novella. Well written and totally engaging. Sarah only knows a horror story about marriage told to her by Nellie. How God moves in this super story will melt your heart. Loved it and I highly recommend it.

Gift with Strings Attached How could her pa do that?! Allen Asher’s dying wish was for Joseph Matthews to take care of his daughter, Sarah. Mr. Asher left his ranch to Joe on the condition that he marry Sarah. However, Sarah did not want to be married. She agreed and went through the ceremony with a list of conditions, including no marital relations. Joe was in a bind.

Signed, Sealed, & Delighted is an adapted version of one of the first stories I ever wrote, the first story that God really dropped into my heart and sealed my calling to write for Him. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned through spending time with Joe and Sarah and how much fun it is to share their tale with you now. I had such a good time with this couple you’ll see them pop up in the first book of my Marriage & Mayhem series, Win, Love, or Draw.
