Disney is a cultural institution and an inarguable go to source for cheery, make-your-dreams-come-true childlike wonder. At a certain point though - when the sun starts to set on childhood, the Happiest Place on Earth's monolithic status invites the mind to celebrate the shadowy, exciting allure surrounding this enterprise's corner market on smiling dancing cartoons and rollicking animals. Thank goodness a book finally came along that demonstrates an insane love for all things Disney while poking fun at its history... So Dream It! Screw It! is one of those books that's full of so much humor and pleasing visual design that you'll probably want it on your bookshelf. The idea is that there's this legendary Disney Imagineer named "Dipp" who is super incompetent and has terrible politics as a human which both go into his tireless efforts to design Disneyland theme park attractions. Also he has a troubled stint in 'Nam, which translates to some of his work. This book is the collected notes and connective story behind such a blemish of a creative, upbeat individual. From an exact copy of EPCOT's Universe of Energy (sponsored of course by Xerox) to a Caligula-esque pleasure palace centered on Goofy and the "swinger movement," Dipp's legacy is portrayed in hilarious era-accurate photographs and lovely illustrations that harken to the most wild and funny satire coming out of Mad Magazine. A great book for fans of Disney and fans of efficient, gut-busting content. The best!

This is the fictional account of Walt Disney's idiot cousin Dipp. Through nepotism and blind luck, Dipp is allowed to work as an Imagineer for Disney for 30 years. The book acts both as a biography of Dipp and a series of examples of a few terrible ideas he had. Truly Dipp touched many lives in his time, leaving greasy stains and the stink of moonshine behind him. Let Dipp touch you, too.
