While I'd happily recommend this for older children, I enjoyed this series of short biographies as well. I found myself a bit disturbed by the descriptions of Hitchcock, not just the work he produced, but the odd behavior he seemed to display from childhood on and kept having the thought that if he'd been born today, he would have probably had some mental health diagnoses (Asperger's came to mind) based on some of his actions. With the Jim Henson description, I found myself having gotten so enmeshed in the story, I cried at the description of his funeral and the loss of such a creative and kind man at such a young age. I had known very little about Bruce Lee so that was all relatively new while I'd heard a fair amount of the other stories from other sources over the years. This was a free rental from the library's Overdrive app., which I also recommend for a wide variety of audiobooks. While not always as quick to have first run selection as say Audible, it's a good way to listen to some additional stories.

I love biographies and I do a school age book club, so this audio book collection which is geared for children ages 8 though 12 was perfect for me to listen to. I enjoy reading this book series and the audio book wasn't bad either. Great fun facts and short, but informative biographies on film stars and sport stars and historical figures and popular culture people as well. I love the timelines in the back of the books as well. I think I will be doing a unit/program using these books. This is an excellent collection of biographies of several celebrities from the end of the twentieth century. The biographical information is very complete and the book is very entertaining. I recommend this to everyone. It is common for people to think they know a good bit about these individuals, but they will find that much information is not commonly known.

A simple non-fiction read about Lucille Ball, Walt Disney, Jim Henson, Alfred Hitchcock, Bruce Lee and George Lucas. The book gives you an overlook.
