I am loving this series and this just warmed my heart. Cecily was another victim of a false mail order bride request. When she arrived in town, the man took her to the Indians and she was tortured and abused until she was rescued. All goes well until a long lost "friend" of his boyhood shows up and tries to cau I am loving this series and this just warmed my heart. Cecily was another victim of a false mail order bride request. A journey to understanding and forgiveness of what life has dealt but the strength to go on to live and love. I adored these two and the narrator Julie Hoverson was her usual excellent self that was perfect for this amazing story.

This is a story of healing and overcoming shame. It's about recognizing the pain and looking forward to a future. It's about a very patient sheriff and a woman who was terrorized by a vicious Indian tribe. It's about how the town saw her and small minded people, but most importantly how Cecily saw herself. This story is excellent and the author doesn't minimize Cecily's pain. Shane helps Cecily to see herself through his eyes, eyes filled with love for a beautiful woman, no matter what she has b This is a story of healing and overcoming shame. Was it supposed to end so abruptly? The dialogue let's the author's books down. It is so stilted and unrealistic. Run and Hide This is a great book by Kathleen Ball and I enjoyed reading it. A lot of sadness and a lot happiness. Mail Order Bride, a woman to pay a debt, indians, beatings, scared, nightmares, running, running, a sheriff, a home,a young boy, ridicule, insults, unexpected guests, finding love?, a happy ever after? I would recommend this book to everyone. Buy it and read what happens.

Shane is the new sheriff in town. He rescues a white woman being held by Indians. She keeps running away and he goes looking for her again. This is the last time he vows. It is a simple story of a woman shunned by her own kind because she didn't kill herself. Shane offers her a job as his housekeeper. Shane is the new sheriff in town. Great series.................. The characters of this story, Shane's Bride, is a story of suspense, crime, friendship, and romance. The author gave the friends a chance to get to know one another and join in a common cause. Great series.................. Wow I feel so good, what a story! The pain that some of these characters went through is just unimaginable. Pioneers had such strength of character. The storyline was fabulous, kept me enthralled to the end.

Love your books I really love the stories and the characters in Ms. Ball's books. I have yet to be disappointed. As usual I am reading out of order so going back to the begining of the series. Cecily has had a bad luck, sort of speak, since accepting to become a mail order bride. The man who was suppose to marry her it was a horrible person that gave her to an Indian called Long Nose that treated her like she was a punching bag, at that is being nice about what he did to her. Shane is the new town sheriff and he tries his best to keep Cecily in town but she keep running and he has to go find her every time. Not that he complains about it but he should be doing his job in town and not chasing after her, or so he says. After realizing that people in town were not being nice to Cecily he decided to make her come live with him. Mind you that this book is written in a time that if you were an unmarried girl living with a man… you got a little reputation for being soiled goods for other men. Shane's Bride! (Mail Order Brides of Texas Book 3) I love this book and I wasn't ready to have it end. I just loved the hero, Shane and the heroine, Cecily. Shane, tough but with a sensitive soul and Cecily, deeply scarred inside but kind and loving, are two characters I want to read more about. But that's the way I feel about all of the wonderful books this Author writes, and the amazing characters she has living in them. Your heart simply aches for our poor heroine Cicely as she struggles with what had happened to her and with what she's feeling for Shane. Shane has fallen in love and is willing to wait for Cecily even if that only means that they can only be friends. This story is beautiful and sad and filled with hope. One truly worth reading more than once.

Book 3 in a good series The sheriff is the subject of this third story. His bride-to-be is one of the poor women who responded to John Hardy's fraudulent mail order bride ads. I like the cast of characters in Asherville. These stories come across as Westerns with romance, not just romance novels. I will say that the editing is lacking. I find unpaired quotation marks irritating as well as skipped words and missing or wrong word placement. But the story is not lacking. This is the third book This series was a well-written series . It pulled you in at the very start of the book in a surprising way. I read them all starting with Cinder's Bride. Once you finish the first book you definitely want to read the next book. It keeps you interested from the start of the series to the last of the series. I almost want to know more about these characters. Because I didn't want to see the series end. This is the third book This series was a well-written series . Once again I marvel at Kathleen Ball's ability to capture a reader from the first page of a story and not release you until the very last page! Shane's Bride is a historical western romance filled with action, laughter, tears, and of course two unforgettable main characters destined to fall in love despite the odds stacked against them. This is the 3rd book in a series, but can be read as a stand alone with no cliffhangers. I've enjoyed the Mail Order Brides of Texas, by Kathleen Ball. She's become one of my go to western authors. Kind hearted Shane is determined to help Cecily recover and move forward with life, hopefully with him, after she was kidnapped by the Indian Long Nose. There are some twists in this story that will keep you turning the pages and biting your nails. I hope you read this book as well as Cinders' Bride and Keegan's Bride.
