We have lead a family adventure group in the Los Angeles area with camping trips far beyond the last couple of years...wish this book was around when we first started. Jason did a great job sharing personal stories with valuable information covering pretty much everything you would need to know to start your own family adventure group. If you are craving time outdoors with your kids and haven't found a group like this, why don't you start your own! This book will give you everything you need to know from inspiring stories, to planning, marketing, liability issues and much more. It is equal parts inspiration and how to. It's also a quick read. I honestly cannot think of anything else he missed in coverage. So if you are thinking about this or if you have just started and need some guidance this is a book for you.

Although my children are in high school and college, the book has inspired ideas for me to use with my family. The techniques and planning methods could also be easily transferred for adult nature clubs. I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially to parents who are ready to find the joys of healthy, child-led adventures in the great outdoors.

This book is a great 'how to' for creating a family nature club and reconnecting your family, kids and the wider community to nature. I thought it would give more tips for how to turn off the TV and play in the backyard, but that looks like an earlier book by the same author, so I will have to check that out. Instead, this provides a step by step approach of how to lead people into reconnecting with nature, something we should all do more of.
