ROBERT KENNEDY *** WILL A SEVENTY-YEAR-OLD MATTER OF HONOR TRIGGER THE NEXT GREAT WAR? As Jiro Sato contemplates suicide, he receives an unexpected visit from two soldiers announcing the recovery of his grandfather’s remains. Discovered on an island claimed by the Japanese but now held by the Russians, it is the final piece of a seventy-year-old puzzle of shame. The Imperial Regalia have been missing since the end of World War Two, and the Japanese government, along with the new—and secretly illegitimate—emperor, have been lying to the people. But the truth isn’t out yet, and the Japanese will stop at nothing to secure their secret and retrieve the ancient relics confiscated by a belligerent Russian government. Including war. Join Archaeology Professors James Acton and Laura Palmer, along with the elite Delta Force’s Bravo Team, and the CIA’s Special Agent Dylan Kane, as they try to stop a war that threatens to consume the entire Asia-Pacific region, all because one grandson, seventy years later, wanted to restore his family’s honor and turn around a life of shame and humiliation. Another great entry into the series, and much better than the previous book. Acton and his wife are called in to verify their authenticity, and it quickly escalates into a naval confrontation in the South China sea and a desperate escape for Action to get out of Russia and hand the relics back into the hands of the Japanese. The usual cast again shows up, and Kennedy has his usual magic of keeping the pages turning and cranking up the action. If you're looking for a fun action/adventure series, you can't go wrong here. Already looking forward to the next one.

This is my second 'thriller' by J. Robert Kennedy and it won't be my last! Now that I know the main characters in the James Acton series from reading the first book, "The Protocol", it was easy to get into the story and get caught up in the excitement. I liked the setting which was mostly in Russia and the plot line with the Japanese history. I also really like the short chapters with the action bouncing back and forth between areas and groups--it gets SO exciting! (I would recommend new readers This is my second 'thriller' by J. After that I don't think it matters whether the rest of the books are read in order or not.)

A request from a prominent archeologist has the Acton's ending their much needed break to head for Russia to verify what he already knows to be true. Within hours, they are in need of saving and this time, there's no one from the usual sources who can even get close. Time and location are against the Acton's in another action heavy story that has implications for many governments. It is an edge of the seat ride of action and survival against impossible odds.

This series is a true keeper for me. I love it! This writer only among a few that I buy all of the series. I read them over when ever I want! I can only afford to do this with a selective group of authors. If you have never read any of the James Acton thrillers series start with the first one and I will be surprised if you aren't hooked on reading the next one! This series is a true keeper for me. What would happen if the imperial Japanese regalia was hidden away for 70 years following the war and it resurfaced on Russian territory. Well, it would incite a possible world war between the Russians, Japanese and the Americans. But along the way, two archeologists find themselves in possession of the artifacts and so begins a race across Russia. A great story starring the famous delta force and James and Laura acton

Fast paced & Full of action I have enjoyed reading the previous books in the James Acton series and this book was as well written as the others. I enjoy the way a historical event is woven into a modern story. The story was fast paced and action packed- it definitely held my attention.

Thanks for the story Great story Mr Kennedy. The touches of historical notes in the book make the reader stop to think.. As usual, the plot can be taken straight out of the news. Scary how fast politics can change the world order.
