Given all the great reviews this book has I wonder if I picked it up on a bad day or sth... or maybe this is not the kind of book I enjoy anymore? I have to say the composition of the book was well made, it offered a look at the statues line, some drawings, concept art, illustrations and some posters. But that was it and I was left cold. I know that was the idea, but I don't know, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would :/ and I like the Bombshells look a lot, because they look more real Given all the great reviews this book has I wonder if I picked it up on a bad day or sth... or maybe this is not the kind of book I enjoy anymore? Not for me, I guess.

WHY IS CAROL FERRIS NOT IN BOMBSHELLS. WHY IS SHE NOT RESCUING HAL JORDAN RIGHT AND LEFT. WHERE IS DANCE FLOOR KING SINESTRO. ALSO WHERE IS ROLLER-SKATING WAITRESS FLASH. In conclusion, please rewrite the entire universe, DC and otherwise to include all the Bombshells, thank you.

Well, that was about the longest advertisement I ever read. It's interesting how often the sculptor is not quite able to capture the expressions on the faces just right or outright chooses to go in a slightly different direction. Anyhow, sexy fun for fanboys like me.

Gorgeous “coffee table book” showcasing exactly what the title states. The dc bombshells title always peeked my interest but not enough to pickup a trade. After enjoying this I ordered the deluxe edition which is the first two trades and am excited to read it. This book was a perfect ad for the series. There is a cover of Batwoman done by Kate Leth that is absolutely adorable. Also, Poison Ivy has never looked cooler.

Aside from showcasing the gorgeous art work of the Bombshells line of statues and comics, this book walks the reader through the complete story of the Bombshells line from inspiration to conception and finally to product development and publishing. The views these individuals share are informative while remaining interesting. As the reader looks at the art and reads the contributors' words, it quickly becomes clear the passion and enthusiasm that went into creating the Bombshells universe. Lucia's art is very visually appealing and on each page a drawing is sure to immediately catch the reader's eye. Though inspired by the WWII era and drawn in the pin-up style, Lucia inserts modern elements into his designs. This adds a new layer to the already detailed designs. I really enjoyed examining each drawing to make sure I caught all the little details in each piece. I was also very moved by Bennett's contribution at the beginning of the covers section of this book. The Art of DC Comics Bombshells would make a great gift for fans of pin-up art, superheroes, or strong women. It's both a quick read and a book you'll want to return to multiple times. Even if you never read the Bombshells comics, you will be able to find something to enjoy about this book. For those who have read the comics, this book provides a new insight into the creative processes behind the DC Bombshells.

Great inside look! But I must say that there is an upsetting lack of Batgirls (and Batboys)!

Beautiful work Gorgeous artwork. I'd to see a few more female characters as bombshells, esp. Giganta! "We have a big problem because things are gettin' heavy 'round here!". Be a great tagline for bombshell Giganta! Beautiful work Gorgeous artwork. I'd to see a few more female characters as bombshells, esp. Giganta! Excellent. Definitely a great approach to not just the art of the Bombshells but also the way in which they are turned into statues. My favorite was the Power Girl/Superman statue discussion - so much about how to translate 2D into 3D

A stunning re imagining of the heroines of the DC Comics universe. Viewed through the cultural and artistic lens of WWII America. Everyone has been redone with panache, and grace. Bringing a tactile sense of that long ago time with each incredible illustration that leaps off the page and pulls us back from the 21st C over 70 years to the past. Bringing to life the style and glamor of the 1940's in the most vivid style. A stunning re imagining of the heroines of the DC Comics universe. A little bit of background on the Bombshells line, but mostly photographs of the statues and prints of the illustrated posters made. I'd had no idea there were so many different characters produced!! Killer Frost, for example. And Cheetah. And a bunch of others I hadn't even heard of but looked amazing. I also hadn't realized there were so many posters--I must get my hands on the Kate Kane baseball card, signed to Maggie! This is a gorgeous book (even if the dustcover is kinda horrible and I much prefer the inside cover), and I am SO glad I got it. While I'd like to see more extras and I didn't need to have all the comic book covers reprinted at me, it is a thing of beauty and I want to hold it forever and ever and ever. I will be perusing this often.
