Spine Surgery Recovery: How to Prepare Your Home and Take Care of Yourself to Minimize Pain and Stress by Sandra Joines is a great book for anyone who is facing spinal surgery and their future caregivers. If you have already had spine surgery, you still need to read this book. I also believe this book should be read by those with spine issues where surgery is not an option. I read this book because my wife has some major back issues and will probably one day need surgery and my ex-wife has a degenerative spine condition where surgery is not an option. I also think this book would be appropriate for any surgery. You have to consider what steps to take to make your recovery and life easier post-surgery. Sandra Joines uses her personal experience to help you with dealing with the problems you will face after spine surgery. She covers all areas of your life and what you need to do to prepare prior to the surgery and what you need to do after you have had the surgery. This is definitely a must read for anyone facing this type of surgery. It's not something I want to go through, but if I have to one day, I have this book to help me.
