“Molly Mouse and the Bear Cub” is part of the “Top of the Wardrobe Gang” children’s book series by Melinda Kinsman. It’s the first that I’ve read in this series. This book begins by introducing readers to the Top of the Wardrobe Gang and explaining that they’re a “team of cuddly toys who love writing for kids.” Right away, Ms. Kinsman is adding a wonderful kid-friendly element into her story. What child doesn’t love stuffed animals? She also lets children know this book includes a puzzle they’ll have to solve throughout – a special key has been hidden within the book’s pages and kids have to find it as they read along. This is a clever way to add a fun activity that will engage kids right from the start of the book. As the title suggests, Molly is a mouse who meets a sad, scared bear cub who shows up at her door late one night. The little bear cub explains to Molly why he’s so sad and scared, and the reasons touch upon many of the same things that most children worry about. Of course, Molly is nervous about helping the cub at first, but when she hears the cub’s sad story she knows she must do something. She rallies her friends and together they find several solutions to help the little cub solve his problems. The author has added so many interesting and interactive components to this book. Ms. Kinsman has written a clever, engaging and educational book for children. Children should have no trouble relating to the story. Aside from solving the “find the key” puzzle on each page, there are several puzzles for kids to solve at the end of the book. On an educational level, Ms. Kinsman talks about bears and hibernation. I love the colorful illustrations! Each depicts a cute and cuddly animal that might resemble something in most any child’s stuffed animal collection. I’m looking forward to reading Ms. Kinsman’s other books. I highly recommend “Molly Mouse and the Bear Cub” for parents, grandparents and caregivers to share with the children in their lives. 5 Stars from http://diymomblog.blogspot.com

This tender, sweet story is tailor-made for bedtime.  Written in rhyme the storyline is about a tiny mouse and begins: "Who can be calling So late in the day? She peeks through the window,  then gulps in dismay! What an intro....now you have to read on and find out what's up don't you? It is a fun read-aloud and the illustrations are big, bight and colourful.  The verses are short and the vocabulary is simple... just perfect for young budding readers to tackle.   A very creative feature that Melinda ha This tender, sweet story is tailor-made for bedtime.  Written in rhyme the storyline is about a tiny mouse and begins: "Who can be calling So late in the day? Melinda has done it again with this fun adventure of Molly Mouse. What’s a mouse to do when woken up by a huge bear cub right outside their home? After the initial scare you find out what’s wrong and what you can do to help. At least that’s what Molly does. The story is written in flowing rhyme that’s fun to read and kids will love. The pictures are awesome and I found myself really caring what happened to the bear cub. Along with the fun it also allows learning about nature and hibernating bears. Another adorable rhyming picture book to add to my collection. I'm telling you, each of Melinda Kinsman's new books is cuter than the last! I think this one is my favorite, perhaps because I love woodland creatures so much :) The rhymes were perfect and very creative. The story was super sweet. I would LOVE to see more of Molly the mouse and this adorable bear cub. Home Run!!! Another adorable rhyming picture book to add to my collection. This sure was a great story with a great message for the very young! I enjoyed this story,it's plot and illustrations as well Thus I would like to recommend this for five stars and for kids ages 3-8 years of age. The story mentions that it is good to share with others who may not have what they need to live. I received this ebook for free and in return , here is my honest review. Super job Melinda !
