Justin’s all Blake knows and she has at times taken his poor treatment as punishment for events that have happened in the past and she's simply worn down by him. I thought the author did a fantastic job of displaying Justin and Blake’s mostly downs and how that spark of the boy he used to be and could be again keeps her hanging onto the really poor treatment. Well that is until she makes friends in her class with three storm chasers and this meteorology student for the first time in eight years finds she belongs and the wonder of true friendship. Dash Lexington runs a website of his storm chasing and from day one in class he’s intrigued by Blake’s knowledge and gut feelings about the field. Dash befriends Blake and for the first time in her life she truly starts to see her relationship for what it is. ”I feel…trapped…sometimes. Other times, I don’t know, he reverts back to the boy I fell in love with. It’s complicated. I can’t leave him, he’d have no one left, no reason to continue living.” Dash is also in a relationship and so with these two in other relationships, the author does a fine job of establishing a solid friendship while Blake starts to learn her own worth outside of Justin. There isn’t any cheating in this book and though they do have more than friendship feelings their fall into a relationship was well done. ”He ripped you apart, Blake. And I know this sounds horribly…guy of me, but let me help put you back together.” He pushed away to look down at me. I pulled out of his embrace. “I can’t do that. Then you’d define me. I need to figure this out on my own. I’m sorry.” [image error] I thoroughly enjoyed this story one scene did annoy me just as much as it did Blake (Dash’s need to show her Justin). Still the story was a solid very realistic read that was well paced and executed! ”Dash and I were the same, pulsing with a calling in our blood to stand on the edge of chaos.”

Edge of Chaos read like a modern-day, new adult version of Twister. You remember that movie with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt? Those storms are no joke. Reading this story reminded me of why I love being a Canadian in Canada. No twisters! Reading this story reminded me of why I love being a Canadian in Canada. No twisters! Blake has been in an abusive relationship with her childhood friend, Justin, for so long that his vitriol is her new normal. She’s not the girl she used to be and has allowed herself to be brow-beaten, shoved aside, and disrespected. Her life lacks that special sizzle, but she can’t get out without worrying that Justin will do something drastic. She finds a new passion in meteorology, which leads her to a new group of friends and head of the gang is a storm chaser named Dash. A man she has an instant connection with. A man who has her questioning everything she’s accepted from her boyfriend. A man who not only listens, but opens her eyes to a new life. But will Blake allow herself to see? I absolutely loved Dash. I would have given my right leg to get his perspective, but even through the lack of it, his charm, humor, and integrity shone brightly. He was such an interesting and complex character and I think that was illustrated clearly with every interaction he had with Blake. He was so patient, kind and understanding with her. He gave her exactly what she needed, even when she didn’t know she needed it. Whether it was a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, or to give advice. He was always there… waiting. I was waiting too. Waiting for him to get the girl. Waiting for him to find his happy. Waiting… waiting… waiting... While Blake frustrated me immensely with her ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘poor me’ and self-blame nonsense, I understood it. It made the fact that she was a victim of her abusive relationship a focus of this story. It made her unwillingness to escape, the excuses she made, and her utter blindness to what was staring her in the face that much more realistic. So while I was internally screaming at her to fight, I knew that it was a process. That the build up of all that angst had to burst sometime. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending. It was a HFN and I think these characters really deserved a HEA. However, I’ve noticed that this was just book one of a series and there is another book for these characters, so I’ll be sure to read that. If you’re a fan of angst-driven plots with tons of adventure, you’re really going to enjoy this story! Release Date: March 28, 2016 Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance POV: Heroine - 1st person Heat: 2.5 out of 5 Type: Standalone - Book #1 of the Love on the Edge series

I was sucked in and I actually was enjoying myself, and before I knew it I was at 65% -- so that's good right? Unfortunately after I realized that I had gotten so far, it went downhill. The h was being completely stupid IMO and ruined it for me! I kept on reading even though I was getting more and more pissed at her. Here's some major spoiler examples **Don't click unless you're ok with big spoilers** (view spoiler)[Some of this might make me sound like a cold hearted bitch, but if you read it you'd probably get where I'm coming from more... The h's boyfriend is a total douche and constantly blows her off for his friends, borderline rapes her constantly because that's "what he likes", and is mildly verbally abusive. BUT she's worried about him offing himself (because he's made that threat before) if she ends things. Now I know suicide is a horrible and serious threat, but with this guy it is obvious he's bluffing! He is ALWAYS with his friends!! Quit being the martyr and talk to one of the friends to keep an eye on him, and end things!!! So finally she does it and ends things, and mopes around because she's worried about him (but never talked to one of his friends). The H gets a butt dial from his ex, and then takes the h to a frat house where they walk in on both of their exes having sex. What does she do? She kisses the H and then gets mad at him for what they saw!!! She then pushes him away, and then complains because he's giving her space (all still moping about the ex). She goes on a storm chase, kisses the H, gets touchy-feely with him, pushes him away, and then says she needs "time". The ex shows up and she lets him in even though she knows he's drunk (and that's when he gets extra douchy) and she's just in a ROBE and he is rough with her and talks about having sex with her and kicks her dog, she calls the H after getting the ex away, kisses him, then pushes him away for more "time", then complains later (in her inner dialogue) when he's respecting HER wishes and giving her the stupid "time" for 3 WEEKS. She only tries to go to him when she finds out he is going after a big tornado by himself. He shouldn't have taken her back IMO. Ok, I can go on but I'm getting mad all over again! (hide spoiler)] Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Blake and Dash's story. They meet on the first day of a class. Blake has been following Dash's storm chasing website, and is an admirer of his work. Blake and Dash start a friendship and Blake gets asked to join his crew. Blake has a controlling jerk boyfriend, and Dash has an oblivious girlfriend -- so they only stay in the friend zone. Eventually things change and they start to develop other feelings. There is some drama with boyfriends/girlfriends, and some drama with the h -- but they get a HFN ending. POV: This was told in Blake's POV. Overall Pace of Story: Pretty good. I did start to skim at the end, but that was mainly because I was really irritated with the h. Instalove: No. They are friends first, and then develop stronger feelings. H rating: 4 stars. Dash. I liked him. He was a good friend, and an overall cute character. He needed someone better than the h ;) h rating: 2 stars. Blake. I had huge issues with her. She wasn't that bad until about 65%ish, when everything she did just pissed me off! She ruined the whole story for me tbh. Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed. Push/Pull: Yes (view spoiler)[ The h and H became friends, and when they broke up with their boyfriend and girlfriend the h pushed the H away only to turn around and make out with him over and over again! See above opinion section spoiler (hide spoiler)] Heat level: Low. Uncomfortable scenes and then one ok scene at the very end. Descriptive sex: Yes Safe sex: No. No mentions of condoms, birth control, or std status that I remember. OW/OM drama: Yes (view spoiler)[The h and H both have boyfriend and girlfriend when they meet. Drama mainly caused by h's boyfriend, and a little by the girlfriend. (hide spoiler)] Sex scene with OW or OM:Yes (view spoiler)[ There is a few scenes with the h and her boyfriend. I think the author put those in to illustrate how bad it was for the h, but I think we could've gone without tbh. (hide spoiler)] Cheating: Not IMO, but other might say yes. (view spoiler)[Some might say that they emotionally cheated on their boyfriend and girlfriend, because they were developing feelings for each other before they broke up. I personally didn't feel that way because they did just behave friendly and never flirted or crossed the line IMO. (hide spoiler)] Separation: Yes (view spoiler)[The h is stupid and pushes the H away. He gives her the "time" she asks for, and she is complaining about him giving her the time she wanted throughout it. No other partners during separation. (hide spoiler)] Possible Triggers: Mild(view spoiler)[Mild emotional abuse with h and boyfriend/ex, mentions of suicide, and natural disasters...? (hide spoiler)] Closure: This didn't have nearly enough closure for me. I would call it a HFN ending at most. How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription. Safety: Safe with exception/Not safe depending on triggers (view spoiler)[ - Does Not have cheating (maybe emotional -- see above cheating spoiler) - Does have a descriptive sex scene with h and OM - Does have the h pushing the H away - Does have a ~2 week separation between the h and H - Does Not have abuse by h or H, but mild emotional abuse from h's ex - Does Not have OTT sad parts - Does Not have a HEA ending. "Tears finally trailed down my cheeks, the pressure of the world building around me like a supercell" *The emotional abuse that Blake endured from Justin was VERY accurately portrayed. To those who have never experienced emotional abuse from someone you love, Justin may seem a bit over-the-top. But that's the point isn't it? The author WANTS you to yell at your kindle, screaming "WHAT THE HELL! LEAVE HIM ALREADY!" But hearing Blakes thought process throughout the whole thing makes her come off like less of a doormat, and more of a girl that is clearly trapped. Justin uses guilt to trap Blake into their toxic relationship and I found my heart breaking for her the entire book. *Hail the bulldog. Enough said. *Dash. Omg, Dash. What an amazing amazing hero in that he truly saves her- in every way. He is completely aware of the game Justin is playing with Blake and he approaches the subject with care and concern, not anger and judgement. That's why I believe he gets through to her when no one else can. That, and he's sexy as hell. "He ripped you apart, Blake. And I know this sounds horribly...guy of me, but let me help put you back together." "Someone has to save you sometimes, since you're constantly doing it for someone else." *The tornado scenes were INTENSE! WHEWW! *I loved the relationship between Blake and Dash. The connection they have with each other and their love for tornadoes set this book apart from a lot of other romance novels I have previously read. I finished this book with a HUGE grin on my face. I still am in awe that this was a debut novel. Seriously, it was THAT good. I cannot wait to see what else Molly E. Lee writes in the future!

4.5 tornado power stars. Someone close to me suffered emotional abuse for years. The bastard was on best behaviour when anyone else was around, but behind closed doors he was stripping away her dignity and confidence and self esteem, guilt tripping her and using emotional blackmail to manipulate her into staying with him. I had no idea. This kind of abuse is subtle, gradual, it doesn't leave physical marks, but emotionally it's devastating. So this was something of an uncomfortable read for me because it was, at times, horribly accurate, at least according to what I later learned. So yes, beautifully done. At the same time, Blake is a storm chaser. I know nothing about this, I'm a total storm wimp, but in spite of that, I was gripped throughout the storm scenes, they were incredibly powerful, really got my heart racing. A more astute reader than me would be able to draw some comparisons between Blake's tumultuous relationship with Justin - the storms - and the relative peace that follows with fellow storm chaser and all around hot guy, Dash, but the simple soul I am just thought it made a vivid and original backdrop to the journey Blake goes on to find who she is. The only reason this isn't a five is the smut. For some reason I wasn't quite feeling it. It wasn't awful or anything, but the descriptions of the storms moved the earth more effectively than the smut I think. *shrugs* Don't know why, might just be me. Complete story, highly recommended and available on ku.

We also absolutely hit all the twister movies too! Those were the days, now he's totally too cool to hang with Mom. Now, when she met the hero and they became friends as well as storm chaser partners, now that was more like it! Seeing as this is a 'Friends2Lovers' story, it just amped up in hotness. All and all, this was a pretty decent read. Check it out for yourself. Happy Reading!

Those kinds of relationships happen ALL the time and the person that should leave is usually blind to how bad it really is because it's normal for them. So I personally feel like their relationship was portrayed accurately. I've never read a book with storm chasers before and I loved that element to the story. It was also impossible not to love Dash, John, and Paul. And of course, Blake's dog Hail. I want to snuggle that dog. Edge of Chaos is a stunning debut. Bravo, Molly. I can't wait to read more from you.

This was such an amazing book!! I'm so glad I got it and decided to read it. Gives me a whole new appreciation for storm chasers and now I even know what a supercell is and they're beautiful. EDGE of CHAOS is one of those books that takes you by surprise. I knew there'd be romance, and storm-chasing. Blake and Justin are that couple that has been together forever. She's not completely oblivious to the fact that he treats her like crap a lot of the time, but whether it's fear or nostalgia, she doesn't know how to move on from this unhealthy relationship. Enter Dash (SWOON), the man who shows her how someone who cares about you should treat you, and he brings some much-needed clarity to Blake's life. Not only does he pull her into the life of storm-chasing she's always dreamed of, he is sweet, and kind, and patient--three things Justin is sorely lacking. I couldn't put this one down. Lee's depiction of the storms left me breathless, and almost exhilarated as her heroes. I ached for Blake and the horrible way Justin treated her, and I yelled at her to step up and leave. But it's not always that easy. This is where Lee really nails it. I recommend this book for anyone who loves a good romance with some excitement thrown in. You won't be sorry. Oh, and keep an eye out for Hail, the dog. One of my favorite book animals ever.

The Edge of Chaos is a really cool and different new adult novel. The hero in this story is a storm chaser/college student and the heroine is a meteorology student. They become fast friends and Blake goes out on a few chases with him. I found this book very easy to read. It was gripping and well-paced. Although somewhat predictable, there was one scene that was a little surprising around 64%. I don't know...it seemed a little out of character for a certain person. But luckily it didn't ruin the book for me. I think adding in Dash's POV would have been really helpful. I wound up watching a whole bunch of storm chasing videos on YouTube while reading this book which I feel added something to the experience for me. If you are looking for a refreshingly different NA romance, check this one out- especially if you get a little geeked out about weather like I do!

"I'd have you realize that the woman you are deserves better than the man he is". "I couldn't decide if the thrill was from the storm we were chasing or the look in Dash's eyes". It is like finding something big on the moment of its conception, allowing you to ride the wild ride from the very beginning. It might sounds crazy but I love being on the ground zero and watching authors grow and evolve into their absolute best! Edge of Chaos is a brilliant debut novel and I can tell you, without a doubt, that Molly is going places. This story was so well written and such an original concept in the way that it approaches a few daunting issues and the original themes it focuses on. Being from Oklahoma allowed me to connect to this book in a way that is unique. A story about storm chasers and the danger that comes with that profession is one that strikes a cord. The characters are fantastic and their lives are authentic. This book reads like the story of someone you might meet or of a friend’s friend. It is real and deals with tough issues but in such a way that is raw and honest. Blake is an intriguing female lead. She is in an abusive relationship but one that is subtle and shockingly common. Her boyfriend has been a constant from childhood friendship to more since she was very young. Their relationship has been through so much but it has taken a turn for the worst. I loved how Molly addressed the theme of abuse. Verbal abuse and isolation is a very common occurrence and seeing it play out in this book breaks your heart. She suffers in silence until someone shows her that this is not normal. Blake has a hidden strength that blooms in this book. She is loving, compassionate, smart, and kind. She longs for a community to be a part of and she finds it. I loved watching her learn her value and find strength in who she was as an individual. Dash is a fun and flirty man whose friendship with Blake changes the course of her life. I love how he is carefree and kind. He longs to see her treated well, constantly speaking truth and identity into her life, making sure she understands her value. Their friendship is sweet and fun. When it grows into something more, you are waiting on bated breath to see where it all goes. It was sweet and well-paced, giving the relationship an authentic feel. You cannot help but cheer this man on and hope for him to get the girl. Storm chasing is the backbone to this book. Molly does a brilliant job of sharing the utter beauty and terrifying nature of storms. This book dives deep into the chaser culture and gives the reader a glimpse into something that is known but not always understood. She does a great job of sharing the reality of the situations and the adrenaline that accompanies it. In the aftermath of a storm, we see the resilience and power of community. I actually found myself crying, something I was not expecting, because she captures the hope and the utter destruction that comes after a storm, something I have personally experienced. There is a balance in this theme and Molly captures it masterfully. I think it goes without saying that Molly Lee has a fan. I will without a doubt be waiting to see what she has next. If this debut novel is any indication, we are in for a wild and crazy ride, filled with heart, reality, and sweet moments along the way. "You're the only thing worth capturing tonight," I whispered. "Then I better give you one hell of a chase."

What you hold in your hands is nothing short of pure genius and astonishing beauty! The ingenuity and originality of this book breathed some much needed life blood back into my heart. Storms just like life are never predictable, but we have to ensure that we understand where we are and what we are doing if we are ever going to be able to find peace in the midst of the storm and be able to move past any damage that we sustain. What might start out a saving grace can turn into a deadly cancer if we don’t pay attention to the warning signs. Blake could claim this very thing if she could ever imagine a life where she was truly loved, carefully treasured, and gently nurtured. Her saving grace and shining knight swept her off her feet only to dump to the ground next and make her feel like the fall was entirely her fault. Endless rounds of hope leading to disappointment and then ending in pain left her confused, guilt-ridden, and empty. Justin seeped all of the joy from her very bones and left her a shell of the beautiful, confident girl she was born to be. When some new friends enter her life, they begin to show her what life should be like and how hers is the total opposite. Can their tender friendship finally open her eyes and fan the flames of her simmering anger enough to give her the courage to rip out the disease that is slowly destroying her soul, or will she not see her worth as incentive enough to take back her life? Dash and his friends are simply typical guys, and yet they are so much more. They are sweet, gentle, and beautiful souls that only want to show Blake just how amazing she really is. They hold up a mirror to show her who she could be, but they leave the decision to change up to her. No one can force that decision upon her no matter how well intentioned it might be. The easy friendships help to build the confidence and energy that Blake needs to finally take back control, and the entire process is absolutely breathtaking. There is something so completely earth-shattering when we see someone stand up for themselves and understand that they are worth everything no matter what others might think. Oh, what a life transforming story that will shift and change your own heart along the way! Molly Lee has meticulously crafted a spectacular work of art that has made my mind and heart practically insatiable for more! I was completely blown away by the sheer beauty and pure splendor that encompassed this piece of genius. Lee has stolen my heart and set my imagination ablaze with a fire that I hope never dies. There is no doubt in my mind that we will see great and astounding things from her. I look forward to each and every one of her future treasures if they are able to dig as deeply and touch as profoundly as this one has. I count myself infinitely blessed to have been given the privildge to experience such a precious and rare wonder.

3.5 Stars Edge of Chaos is author Molly E. Lee's first novel; although with her talent for grabbing a reader so strongly in the prologue this surprised me! Lee's first novel; although with her talent for grabbing a reader so strongly in the prologue this surprised me! "There are patterns to everything, even chaos." Blake Caster has known her boyfriend Justin since she was ten years old. He was her first everything and they have been through a lot together. But lately his mood swings and the emotional abuse is too much too handle. Diving into her passion for extreme weather and working on her degree in Meteorology, she meets gorgeous storm chaser Dash Lexington. "Dash Lexington. The freaking gatekeeper to all my weather fantasies." Dash notices Blake's' love for analyzing weather data and asks her to join his storm chasing team. Finally getting to do something for herself and that she really loves, Blake's true personality shines through- she finally has a chance to make true friends and be part of a team. The changes in Blake makes Dash sit up and take notice and the chemistry between these two is definitely steamy. Blake is ready to move on with her life and give into her feelings for Dash- but Justin has other plans and he doesn't plan to go away quietly. "I want every piece of you, because I know who you are, and I've never loved anyone as intensely as I do you." Okay so Justin is a compete douche and waste of space. There I said it. Honestly it was hard for me to not scream at my kindle anytime Justin was mentioned and especially with the way he isolated Blake from everyone and the way he treated her. Obviously this was his plan, but it didn't make it easier to read. I liked how Molly allowed the friendship to really build between Blake and Dash and that their relationship wasn't rushed. Ever since the movie Twister, which I've watched more times than I can count, I've been intrigued with storm chasing and after reading Edge of Chaos, I want to curl on up the couch and watch it all one more time! "True love is friendship set on fire."

I found the book's depiction of the abusive relationship realistic; frequently, I found myself frustrated by the antagonist's actions, and repulsed by his behavior. I had no trouble imagining this man might exist, and likely does somewhere in the world today, and watching Blake treated so poorly proves how even "strong women" can fall into patterns of abuse without realizing it. Really, Blake was the draw for me. She was funny and sweet, and her vulnerability struck me as relatable. The hero, Dash, was also a sweetheart: understanding, compassionate, if a bit reckless at times. All-in-all, I was satisfied with the way the romance unfolded, and was delighted to see Blake move from an unhealthy relationship into a healthy one. Last but not least, if you're not sold yet, I have two words for you: storm chasers. Dash and Blake are storm chasers, y'all. 'Nuff said.

I was fortunate to win an ARC of Edge of Chaos. Once I started I couldn't put it down. Dash quickly became one of my book boyfriends that I fell in love with. 2.5 stars. Okay, so this book could've been better, but at the same time it wasn't, like, bad? But still, I wish it was better than it was. The rating seems too low, but it's not quite a 3-star read. Ugh. Let me explain. So basically it's about a girl named Blake who has been in a relationship with Justin for eight years. Justin is emotionally abusive and extremely unpleasant to read about. I mean, obviously he was supposed to be unpleasant but good lord, I wanted to reach into the book and stab him. So, Blake is an aspiring meteorologist but actually has more of an interest in storm chasing. In one of her classes she meets Dash, a storm chaser, and his friends John and Paul who are part of his team. A friendship strikes between the two of them and she starts developing a bit of a crush on Dash, and starts to question her relationship with Justin. So, the book actually started out relatively strong and I went in with low, albeit hopeful expectations. So here's what I liked and didn't like. 1. The portrayal of Justin and Blake's relationship. So, emotional abuse isn't something that's really talked about in a lot of books, especially NA books. Usually it's focused on physical abuse, sometimes sexual. Most NA books aren't particularly good at portraying abuse in a tasteful or sensitive way. Usually it's very gratuitous and only serves as an incentive for the hero to swoop in and save the broken heroine. We get a graphic scene of the heroine getting the shit beat out of her, the hero, with his tattoos and rippling abs, bursts in, kicks the abusive boyfriend's ass, and runs out with the bleeding heroine in his arms where he tends to her injuries and swears that he'll love and protect her forever and ever and they have terribly written sex and live happily ever after, no mental scars to be seen. Cue the reviews with multiple crying gifs, shouting about The Most Romantic Book In the World. I hate those fucking books, in case you couldn't tell. But this was not the case here. Emotional abuse is harder to write about. There are no physical scars left (at least not by the abuser), and it can be so subtle that a lot of times you don't realize you're being abused, you just write it off as, "well, that's just how they are." The book succeeded in that regard, to an extent. Right away we're introduced to Justin's toxic behavior and the effect it has on Blake and how helpless and exhausted she feels. What helped is that we get a little bit of a backstory on Justin and why he is the way he is, and how he sort of became to be that way. This was good because it actually portrayed Justin as kind of a well-rounded character. He wasn't just this psychotic monster with no personality. He had one, he had a history, and I appreciated that. I understood why Blake stayed with him so long. 2. The abuse was (somewhat) portrayed realistically. Okay, so, some parts were well done. The suicide threats, the veiled put-downs, the insults, all things that the book more or less nailed. But then some of Justin's behaviour, I don't know if it was abusive so much as just really inconsiderate. For instance, he would constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, promise to take Blake out and then ditch her for his friends and his XBOX, and also ask her for money for games, and be really selfish in bed. Shitty things to do, totally, but abusive? I don't know. I've seen firsthand what an emotional abuser does to a person, and you would not believe just how much damage it can do. It's so subtle but it has so many real world effects and it can truly fuck up a person for life. I think that's why I wanted to read this in the first place, because I have such a personal connection to it. I didn't quite get that with Blake, though. I felt her exhaustion and anger, and I definitely understood her feeling so fed up with Justin (I was fucking fed up every time he showed up in any scene). But she's been doing this for eight years, and I didn't quite feel the...I don't know, desperation? The blurb says that Blake doesn't know what a normal relationship is, but that's the thing: she does. Sure, she wonders what it'd be like to actually have a normal boyfriend, but at the same time she knows that Justin's behaviour isn't normal. In that sense, it could've been written better. 3. The characters. Blake and Dash definitely had more personality than most NA couples, which is refreshing. You actually understand why they're so interested in storm-chasing and why they become friends so quickly. You do get a feel for them as people, which is nice, because with so many NA couples, they don't exist outside of each other. Blake and Dash do, though. Also, she has a bulldog named Hail and I love her. A lot. Oh, and Paul's thing is telling really corny weather jokes that I don't quite understand, but I appreciated it anyway. Okay, so here's my biggest issue with the book: the writing. It was very hit-or-miss. In some parts it was fine. The storm chasing aspect was very interesting and well-researched. I would never, ever, EVER do that in a million years, but it was fun to read about. The dialogue was fine. But then with a lot of Blake's internal monologue, it was very telling-and-no-showing, which is a pet peeve of mine. It was by no means terrible, I just wish it was better. I got the distinct impression that Molly E. Lee COULD do better, but she was maybe holding herself back, so I'm definitely not writing her off or anything. Considering how mediocre so many NA books are, this was definitely an improvement amongst all the crap I've read. I feel like Blake and Dash chemistry could've been written better. I mean, I understood why they liked each other, but I didn't quite feel the sexual tension. Also, Blake kept talking about her "core" every time Dash did something innocuous, like lift something heavy, and it was actually really cringey. The sex scenes itself were fine, but, future reference: please don't use the word "core" as a synonym for your vagina. it's not sexy, it's just unintentionally funny. The book also got repetitive after awhile, which is why it took me awhile to get through it. Also, Lindsay was ridiculously cliche and there was literally no reason for her to be the way she was, except to make Blake look good. C'mon, Ms. Lee. I know you can do better than that. But here is the best thing I think this book has going for it: Blake saves herself. Yes, Dash makes her realize what a healthy relationship is, but she comes to the decision to break up with Justin on her own, and she knows that she deserves better. When Justin tries to hurt her, she defends her own damn self. Does she go to Dash for emotional support? Yes, but for the most part, she's not a damsel in distress. Dash doesn't solve her problems with sex and doesn't condescend to her, he helps her and encourages her and gives her the support she needs to get things done. Even when he wants to be the cliche hero and take care of her, she tells him no, let me do this on my own. Do you know how nice that is to read about? THAT'S SO NICE TO READ ABOUT!! Please, can we have more NA heroines like this? So, overall: the writing and pacing could've been better, but this was decent and overall a pleasant surprise. I don't know if this is the author's debut or not, but I think she's more or less promising and I'll more than likely read something by her again. There's no slut-shaming (for the most part), the abuse aspect was pretty much tasteful (I do wish it went more in-depth with the effect it had on Blake, but beggars can't be choosers), and there were no douchey, cavemen alpha males to be seen (I mean, unless you count Justin, but he's supposed to be an asshole). Go ahead and give it a shot. PS: holy crap this review is long.

Here's the thing... I'm not the biggest new adult fan and this is very much a new adult feel novel.  The heroine is in a bad relationship and she's emotionally manipulated by her long time boyfriend.  She's made choices in her life that aren't what she wanted for herself and she felt like that's all she deserved to get.  Until she meets Dash and he shows her what a true friend should be like and what life with someone that cares can be.  I can't say that I didn't feel bad for Blake but I wanted to shake her sometimes.  The things she kept doing for her boyfriend Justin, what she was letting him get away with, how he would treat her.  I get all those things are valid points of an abusive relationship but that didn't make me less angry. Whenever I see a character going through that I really want to make sure she can stand on her own two feet before jumping into another relationship because honestly there's a lot of growth that has to happen for me to buy she's a strong independent woman.  That selling me on it was not enough for me.  I liked the final resolution but I still didn't think she was strong enough. And maybe that's why there's a second book about this same couple from what I can tell?  I'll probably pick it up and see. Overall, this was a fun slow burn with an interesting setup while the heroine is studying meteorology and Dash is out chasing storms.  I love these kind of scenarios (although I would never put myself out there willingly) and I enjoyed that aspect of the story.  The friendship was also well done.  I think this fits well within the genre, which is probably the reason I didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to.  But it still was a fun read and I'm glad I gave it a shot. I won this AMAZING debut novel from Molly E. Lee in a Facebook group.  When I saw the blurb and cover, I knew that this book would be good. It was more than good it was amazing.  It’s like the movie Twister but better with a sexy hero who saves the day! I was hooked right from the beginning.  It’s storm season and we had a big storm and flooding the night before. Oh, I forgot to mention that I love storms. I do believe that my love for storms did make the story more enjoyable, but even if you are I won this AMAZING debut novel from Molly E. I do believe that my love for storms did make the story more enjoyable, but even if you are not a storm lover I think anyone who loves romance will enjoy this book. Blake has been emotionally abused by her boyfriend, Justin, for so long that she doesn’t even realize that it’s not normal until a fellow student and storm lover shows her how a man should treat women.  If you have never been in an abusive situation, the behavior in this book may seem over-the-top, but from my experience, the author was spot on.  You’ll want to yell at your Kindle for her to leave him, for her to take no more, to wake up and realize what he’s doing.  Hell, even though I rarely read a book about cheating I was all for it by chapter one.  Chapter 1!  Yes, he’s that bad. I have to say the book started off sad for me and I even shed a few tears. “You’re so nice. To her . . . you’re so nice to her.” “How do you figure?” “Just a thing a girl can tell.” “A thing a girl can tell when she isn’t used to it,” he said, his voice growing softer. I don’t want you to think that because I wanted to yell at Blake that she was one of those stereotypical women that will frustrate you throughout the whole book.  She’s not like that at all.  I only wanted better for her because I knew she deserved it and after years of abuse she was so lost as to who she was and what she deserved.  My heart broke for her with each page knowing Blake’s thoughts showed the struggle she faced with her long time boyfriend and the hope that he’d change back into the boy she once knew and her new found life with friends. I’m sure you’re wondering if there’s cheating because that may be something you don’t like or a trigger for you. Have no worries there’s not cheating. Storms had always been a part of my life, always filled me when I was hollow, but now they were in my blood. Now enter Dash. He was truly the hero as he became Blake’s friend. He was there for her with his friendship, not judging the situation, always willing to listen, and helped her see that the way Justin was treating her was not the way her life needed to be. Add on top of that Dash was sexy and totally loved her dog, Hail, he’s the perfect book boyfriend. Dash never doubted me. The feeling was incredible but completely new. Justin had constantly told me I wouldn’t make it in this field because I didn’t have the instincts to handle myself under pressure. The storm scenes were intense! The author did a great job of describing them in a way that was easy to imagine and not over complicate it. The writing drew me in from the beginning. I could feel Blake’s passion for storms and what she wanted to do with her life and the instant connection she had with Dash. “Someone has to save you sometimes, since you’re constantly doing it for someone else.” This is an amazing debut novel. If I didn’t know, I would never have been able to tell. I can’t wait to see what Molly E. Lee writes next and I definitely hope for more books about storm chasers.   Rating: 5 Stars See this review on my blog! | Follow me on Facebook! | Follow me on Twitter!

I could not believe that this was Molly E. Lee's debut novel. It was written so beautifully. It sucked me in right from the beginning and didn't let go till the end. I loved the main characters as well as the secondary ones. I'm really hoping that this turns into a series and we see a lot more from this group of friends. The story starts out with our heroine, Blake. She's been in an emotionally abusive relationship with Justin for 8 years. But he was her first everything, and she keeps hoping that the boy she fell in love with is still there somewhere. I was ready to be frustrated with her as a character, but you really can't be. It's a horrible situation, and it's all she's ever known. She doesn't know how a real relationship should work until she meets our hero, Dash. Dash is a storm chaser. A hot, sexy, smart, sweet, caring, amazing storm chaser. Blake has been stalking his storm chasing website for some time, but they don't meet until they both happen to be in the same meteorology class together. They have so much in common that they quickly become best friends. She's also grown close with Dash's two friends and fellow storm chasers, Paul and John. And it so happens that they have a need for Blake's special meteorological skills on their storm chasing team. This is such an amazing book. It's got a very emotional aspect with Blake trying to get out of her abusive relationship, and then attempting to find the woman she's supposed to be. It is also explosively intense with the storm chasing aspect of the book. I really felt like I was inside one of my favorite tv shows during a lot of this story. Edge of Chaos was such an exciting read for me, I can't say enough good things about it. I'm so glad that I gave this new author the shot she deserved, because I will be first in line to get my hands on her next book! I am giving this book all of the stars! 5+++ And I would reach into the heavens and grab more if I could, I so loved this book!!!

When he dropped the “I love you” bomb it was so unexpected that I was taken aback. Not saying that Blake was unlovable because I loved her character as well, I constantly wanted to just hold her and tell her how worthy she truly was but it would have been nice to hear his growing love for her instead of just being blindsided, or atleast that’s how I felt. The storm chasing was explained in enough detail that I found myself fascinated with that lifestyle and after seeing there would be a part two, I will end up getting the book to see what happens next for these two. Overall very entertaining read and enjoyed the storyline. P.s.- I would have sucker punched Justin in the throat about a couple dozen times. He was so disgusting.

Storm chasers along with some NA angst – Yep sign me up. I just happened upon this debut author’s first book in her Love on the Edge series about a group of college kids that chase tornado’s in Oklahoma – the blurb hooked me and now that I’ve finished I’m so happy I found it. It’s not just about chasing tornado’s though – even though the author did a fabulous job with describing the storms, the formation of the tornado’s and the devastation they leave. At its core it’s about Blake Caster who gre Storm chasers along with some NA angst – Yep sign me up. At its core it’s about Blake Caster who grew up with an emotionally abusive father and as it sadly goes ends up with a boy/man who is the same way. What compounds her fear of leaving him is he was her savior during their childhood so that he became the monster he used to save her from is a hard blow for her and has her taking his crap year after year. Her junior year of college she finally gets into the Meteorology classes she has waiting for. She has always had a fascination with the weather and is good with the numbers it takes to figure out what storm cells are going to do. She also can’t believe that one of the guys in her class is none other than storm chaser internet sensation Dash Lexington. Dash is really passionate about storm chasing and trying to figure out information that can be used to help with better predictions and warnings. He and Blake form a tight friendship over their love of weather and support each other in their disastrous relationships. I liked how the author didn’t rush them together romantically. Blake grew up with and then was romantic with her boyfriend from way to many years for her to just dump and then jump in to a relationship with Dash right away. And with all the emotional abuse she suffered she needed to do a bit of healing first. I powered through this book pretty quick and I can’t wait for the next in the series..

I read this book in a little over 3 hours, which would've been less if I didn't have to feed myself and use the restroom. THIS BOOK <3 You feel as though you are in the car with all of them chasing a tornado. Molly writes those scenes in such a way that transports you into Dash's truck with him. Bravo to that, its completely amazing. I HATE JUSTIN. I HATE JUSTIN. I HATE HIM. With that being said, I also pity Justin. You have this guy who has only ever known being thrown away so I get the need to keep Blake, because maybe if he did lose her it would prove he was someone no one could love. So I did feel bad for him..... but only about 5% bad the other 95% was rage, hate, anger, embarrassment, disgust. Man the list could go on. I also Pitied Blake slightly (but I truly loved her) and the reason why is simple. She was completely suckered into staying and even though deep down I think she knew he wouldn't hurt himself, she allowed that little doubt to hinder her entire life, right down to having NO friends. Dash was everything I could want in a book boyfriend...... and his real name lololololol but I won't say it. Everyone has read to find it out. 5000000 stars.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! What an excellent read! I loved how the author wove weather science into this love story. I had all the feels reading this book. Blake is such a wonderful main character. And her arc is SO well developed, not rushed at all. The author took Blake where she needed to be at just the right pace, allowing her to fully heal and move on. And Dash. Sigh.
