Actual Rating: 3.5 Stars The Prince and I was a modern day fairy tale and a second chance romance. Centering on a prince and the lady he was determined to make his own, Miranda King gave us a lovely story with depth and heart. Now even though this is written as part of the True Royalty series, this can be read as a standalone. The ending is more of a happily-for-now as it will continue, but readers can rest assured that our hero and heroine leave things in a good place here. The story was fine by itself, but I feel like the first book wasn't finished and needed resolution that the 2nd book (with totally different characters) didn't even mention. Not what I was looking forward to. Reading about royalty is so addictive! The three books in the series tie in so well. The characters are well developed and so relatable. They each carry baggage that they have to deal with. Good Prince and Emma frustrated me. I truly believe that you can tell about the person's character by the friends they keep. So why is the Prince such a good friends with evil Miranda? Poppy is so cute, true she is probably heading for a heartbreak but I would want to read her story. Good Prince and Emma frustrated me. The book ends abruptly and I really did not enjoy the evil sister bit. And she was evil (likely to be more evil in the future). It's sad when that is the only thing that lingers in your mind after reading a book. Not the hero, heroine, or even the prince's little sister. Nope, it's the, "why hasn't the evil twin been smothered by a pillow in her sleep yet?" The book ends abruptly and I really did not enjoy the evil sister bit. Overall the book was okay. I liked the back story very much and I wish that the story had a little more. I found it hard to believe that this strong, independent business woman would let her sister act like a two year old.

Great (safe) romantic story. Ended rather abruptly, after a traditional romantic story arc... but great story and interested enough to find the next in the series.
