POW.....POW....POW.... Is all I heard as I walked home from school. As a reflex I ducked down, I heard the car tires screech and a loud thud hit the ground. Somebody got shot. I looked up and seen a male's body a few feet away from me on the ground. I got up and walked over to him. I instantly recognized his face. I started to cry and I fell to my knees. That person on th POW.....POW....POW.... That person on the ground is my daddy. "Daddy. Wake up. Daddy! Wake up!" I screamed with tears rolling down my face. I kept shaking him, I was getting blood all over my school uniform, but I didn't care. I just cared about saving my dad. There was no life left into him. Just by how his body moved when I shook him. I screamed for my mom. She came running out the door. When she saw my dad, she broke down. All the neighbors were outside, cars stopped. It's like the whole world stopped. A few minutes later the police arrived. They took his body and put it in the ambulance. The ambulance sped to the hospital and we followed behind them. We sat in the hospital waiting room. People were staring at us but they tried not to make it obvious. If I seen a little girl and her mom covered in blood with red eyes and dried tear stains on their face, I would stare too. They called us back to say our final goodbyes. I went in and looked at his dead body. I started to cry even more. We left and went back to our little red bricked apartment in the hood as they call it. When we got home, I ran to my room and laided on my bed. I thought over what just happened. I cried and cried until there was no more tears. My eyelids started to feel heavily. I closed my eyes and went to sleep. That was the last memory I had of him. Ever since my father died. My mother turned into evil itself. She got hooked on drugs, she had different men in the house every night. She would beat me if I didn't do things how she liked. She even beat me for not walking how she wanted me to. I'm not talking about a butt whooping for kids who are bad. I'm talking about an ass beatin’ you get when y'all beefin. Like she beats me like I'm one of the girls who talk shit and wants to fight. I went to school with bruises. She is so bad that she lets her men do anything they want with me. I cried myself to sleep every night. I wish my dad was here with me. She works and uses all her money for drugs and things for her. Like now she's yelling in my face for not getting her some Hennessey fast enough. "Now go to your room, stupid whore." She said, then she slapped me with her glass bottle. It shattered on my face and the glass cut my cheek. I cried out in pain and ran into my room. I went into my bathroom and carefully removed the glass and saw the blood pour from my cheek. I pulled out the cleaning supplied and cleaned my wound and wrapped it. Once all was done, I laid on my bed and went to sleep. I woke up to loud moans and the headboard banging against the wall. “This is crazy,” I sighed and laid on my bed and did my best to fall asleep. Check it out #reignpublications

Decent I liked the overall storyline, but I felt the story moved too fast. A few things were left out that left me a bit confused at first, then it was explained a few pages later. I also would've appreciated a little more description of what was going on, one minute they were on a plane and the next minute they were in Russia. The author described Germany as beautiful, but didn't give any description as to what made it beautiful. I'd love to see this author's work after she has a few more books u Decent I liked the overall storyline, but I felt the story moved too fast. A little rough around the edges, but she has the makings of greatness.

Hirii and Nick I enjoyed this book it was different from what I'm used to reading. Nick and Hirii made a great couple they were both strong and took care of each other. Alek is a hot cousin whom I would definitely marry in real life. It was sad to see Kayden die. He was a great protector and brother to hirii growing up. The reason this wasn't a 5 ***** read for me was because of the editing it was terrible but I liked the story. Barbie you need an editor or a better one. 4**** Hirii and Nick I enjoyed this book it was different from what I'm used to reading. Ok read I hate what Zah'Jarii and Nickolai had to go they as kids. King seemed to good to be true in the beginning, who meets someone and is instantly that nice to them. I love the storyline, but it seemed to be a bit rushed for me. Once Nickolai escaped everything just got fast forwarded. By the time I figured out how everything was meant to go, the story ended. Very good This was a quick but very good read. It took you from pain to love and everything in between. It's not your typical drugs and gangs type of read. It hurt my heart when King died, but I'm glad that Zah'hirii found true love and happiness. This is my first book by this author, and I look forward to reading more of her work.
