Great book for a beginner like me I especially like the detailed descriptions of handholds and footholds. Knowing that there are so many techniques to master lets me know that I am less likely to get stuck on a wall. I do wish there were photographs or drawings though. It would be much easier to understand. Like they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words." I recommended this book to beginners who want to get into climbing. Really short, very very basics,no pics It was okay, but it it was only very basic of climbing technicue. Nothing about building anchors and not much about gear needed outdoor. It was really short, I read it less than in hour. I already found better guide book for rock climbing. Not worth of buying

Covers most of the rock climbing basics Worth reading if you are a totally beginner in rock climbing. Would be nice if there are pictures about what was introduced in this book, such as different types of holds, foot works, gears etc.

A little too basic. This book is a little too basic; think elementary school library. It is a quick read though and does give you a basic understanding of the sport.

Either go way more in depth or show millions of pictures. The way the book is set up it does not learn you much. Nothing on something simple as how to tie an 8 knot for example. It was free on kindle unlimited, I would be unhappy if I actually had to pay for it.

Good for Super beginners, if you've never climbed at all. There was nothing about knot tying or how to belay. Good for Super beginners, if you've never climbed at all. There was nothing about knot tying or how to belay.
