Dark Knights of Kaas City

Availability: Ready to download

The world we live in is black and white. Perhaps with a little grey in between. What we have grown up to believe to be “white” has been taught to us. Whether it be by our parents, schools, the media, or government endorsed advertisements. So then, is it not possible that what we have been lead to believe to be “white” could in fact be “black”? Greyish even?

Received free through GoodReads first Reads - thank you. Oh, dear. I could not get into this at all. Poor grammar (does the author not have a handy supply of commas?), I had to read some sentences 2 or 3 times. Didn't like the imprint of the skull through all the pages - a gimmick that doesn't work and became annoying and distracting. Received free through GoodReads first Reads - thank you. Oh, dear. I received this book for free from Goodreads Giveaways. In return I am giving my honest review. I tried really hard to read this but I physically couldn't even get past the eighth page. I made myself read the whole introduction which was almost torture. The writing is horrendous and needs a tremendous amount of editing. There are minor and major grammatical errors, so much so that I could barely understand what was happening. I forced myself to read all of the introduction and thought maybe after that the writing would be more edited. It wasn't. I even flipped to the end of the book and skimmed there. The writing was the same. If I tried to read this it would take me ages to decipher what was supposed to have been said. I only hope that in the future this can get some better editing and then maybe I would try reading it again. From what I could glean, this sounded a lot like Star Wars. Perhaps it was a fan fiction turned book? There is a white skull on a dark rectangle as a watermark on every single page that also hindered reading the book. It also made it feel like fan fiction printed off into book form.

I received a free copy of this book as a Goodreads giveaway Oh dear - this was something of a struggle this one. I did make it through to the end, but only out of a perverse and ultimately hopeless feeling that it would start to grow on me. Sadly at the end of the difficult experience I checked and nothing had even begun to grow on me. It's a shame when an author doesn't quite hit the mark but I'm not even sure what he was trying to hit. I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for my review. I'm sorry to say I could not finish this book. The writing is horrendous and even if I could've gotten past the distracting skulls all over each page, I couldn't get past all the mistakes. I don't even know if there was a story here or not.
