Lame. Boring. STFU. A pair of bimbo sisters are obsessed with some douchebag named Jeremy (who never makes an appearance; oooh, such a puppet master o' d00m!) & their redonk, oblivious, mind-numbingly stupid excuses for his crappy behavior result in one sister killing a guy & then poisoning herself after discovering The Truth (i.e., that Jeremy really IS a douchebag manwhore). And what is the linchpin of this unending babble of talking heads? ...Wait for it... They're trying to spare one sister reading a letter wherein Jeremy admits he wanted to boff said sister even though she's married, & because she refused to have an affair she's a cocktease prude, & he doesn't want to marry anyone, period. Wow! What a demonic hellbeast this dude is! :O (Seriously, Harlequin douchebaggery doesn't equal goffick villain.) Meanwhile, the sister in question is so blindingly stupid that everyone bends over backwards to preserve her 'innocent worship' of Asshole Jeremy, so the business about the letter drags on & on & on until the reader wants to rip the book in half (or maybe that was just me? Hm). Don't waste your time. This was one of the most toothless, drab, & snore-worthy pulps I've ever read.

Lucifer Was Tall made for a clunky and awkward read. I thought it was going to be set for the 1800's or early 1900's because another book with the same generic cover was, but it was actually set for the 1970's. I wasn't a fan of any of the characters. Gail was only four or five years older than her sister Candace, so it got on my nerves when she referred to her as child and dear. Overall, the story was longwinded and it felt like it was trying to be interesting when it really wasn't that interesting.
