Star Wars: Dark Force Rising (1997) #1 (of 6)

Availability: Ready to download

The Empire is dying, perhaps in its final throes. But like a dog near death, that's when it is most dangerous, when it will lash out with nothing to lose. The ruthless warlord Grand Admiral Thrawn may have found just the firepower needed to take a bite out of the New Republic: Some two hundred Dreadnaught heavy cruisers, lost to hyperspace in the days of the Old Republic.  The Empire is dying, perhaps in its final throes. Always looking for stuff for Fritz to read, we asked at our LCBS for recommendations in the Star Wars universe. We had read a previous Dark Horse series. This one was complete and a really good deal, although I am pretty certain we have this digitally via our Marvel Unlimited subscription. Oh, well. Not motivated to read anything else right now and all caught up with my comics, I broke this out. What I am learning is that I am not really a Star wars fan despite reading so many of these. I can't really tell what's going on. This is the time after the Rebels blew up the Death Star. All the regular Rebels are here. General Thrawn seeks to regain power for the Empire. C'Baoth is a "forgotten" Jedi, who is enlisted by Thrawn. Not quite sure how that works. Yeah, I'm not quite getting it yet.
