This is one of the comics that those of you who are interested in learning more about the history of Captain Marvel might want to check out. Ok, so this is an X-man comic, but it's also the issue where Ms. Marvel (currently better known as Captain Marvel) gets a badass power set activated, and takes the name Binary. Best part is that you get all of the over the top dialogue and awesome names that you only get in the older comics. <--they're running away from Sleezeworld. Fucking Sleezeworld! You don't get better than that, I tell you. The main story is that the X-men (plus Lilandra and Carol) have escaped the Brood (sort of) and are in the middle of a dogfight in space while trying to get away. Phasers set to stun! <--because the X-men aren't killers Except for Wolverine. You know he's gonna kill some shit eventually. That hairy little bastard is a ticking time bomb and everyone knows it. And speaking of Wolverine, he's the only one who knows why the Brood is using kid gloves while trying to recover the escaped X-men. Ewww! Is some Alien stuff about to happen up in here? Well. If it is, it didn't happen in this issue. Sorry to get your hopes up. Recommended for fans of Captain Marvel and old-ass comics.

First of all, I have no idea why the rest of the X-Men have not turned into giant flying space bugs yet. Wolverine was (I think) the last one to get infected but the first one to (not actually) transform! Aside from that, it was pretty cool the way Carol’s powers were drawn. Reminded me very much of The Phoenix. I can’t wait to see what the X-Men do now that they know what’s really going on inside them.

This was one of the True Believers dollar comics this month from Marvel and so I picked it up because I don’t care much for Captain Marvel, however I do like the idea of Binary. This issue is definitely dated in terms of style, but it was pretty interesting. It’s really neat to see how much comics have changed since this was originally published.

The thing is that the whole time with the knowing that all the x-men have this brood thing inside of them got me like: Because made me remember some scenes from alien and it gets worse, but also I’m excited because I love it, this space adventure is keeping me so intrigued. Then the binary thing with carol happens and I’m exploding, and if that wasn’t enough Ororo is getting nuts because she’s realizing what’s inside of her. And Wolverine has to spill the tea because it’s time for the x-men to kn The thing is that the whole time with the knowing that all the x-men have this brood thing inside of them got me like: Because made me remember some scenes from alien and it gets worse, but also I’m excited because I love it, this space adventure is keeping me so intrigued. This issue is all about the space escape! The Brood peruses the x-men, Wolverine continues to contemplate murdering the x-men and Ms Marvel evolves into Binary! The scene with Kitty fixing the warp drive is awesome and Storm begins to understand she has been commandeered by an alien egg. Great issue if you love space adventure.

I think I'm on a island with respect to The Claremont Run. Yes, it was remarkable for many reasons and everything about superhero/nerd/comics culture today traces a line directly back to it. But... I find so much of his writing to be wooden, ham-fisted, and overly expository. I think I'm on a island with respect to The Claremont Run.
