I received a free copy of this book as a Goodreads giveaway Women and God - two things I know too little about and therefore as good a reason as any to delve in and see what I could find... I didn't really expect this book to be for me - and it is true, I am most likely not in the target demographic - I am not a woman and I am not particularly religious. That apart, I found the book unexpectedly enjoyable with some good expressive writing and vivid recollections of the author's past. Justifications and strategies for dealing with life were less appealing to me personally, but I think they have a worth and value to those who are struggling to sort out their spiritual and emotional well-being. Some of us need and benefit from things to hang onto in life so if you are frantically paddling/slowly sinking or just want to stay vaguely afloat, then this book could be for you.
