   Beautiful and deeply moving reinterpretation of one of America's most famous novel from the point of view of the whale. "Whitewave", as he is known among his people is part of an ancient matriarchal culture increasingly threatened by the whale trade. As Whitewave sees his family and his people's traditions gradually destroyed, his anger and bitterness prepare prefigure the implacable enemy of the Pequod. Reminded me of Bambi in the way it gives voice to animals hunted by humans, and in its aching Beautiful and deeply moving reinterpretation of one of America's most famous novel from the point of view of the whale.    More people should know about this book. A thoughtful, well researched retelling of Moby Dick from the perspective of the white whale. This reminded me of Call of the Wild or White Puma. Highly recommend for those interested in wildlife biology and conservation.

   I was pleasantly surprised. I w not expecting much. While I did find much that did not seem very believable, the story was well written, and I enjoyed reading it. It was difficult to read the parts where whales are harpooned.
