I have to say I do like reading Linsey Hall's work because she always delivers a story I will enjoy. Aurora went missing, Felix thought her dead, and lost many years to captivity. Felix suffered his own issues due to Aurora's disappearance, someone wanting information about her whereabouts, and his heartbreak. When the two are thrown together once again there's nothing that can stop them from falling into one another again. Two battered hearts finally are able to heal while trying to figure out who is out to hurt them both. They struggle to deal with one another after so many changes have occurred within them, fears are still welled up inside of them, and the time they have to figure things out is running short. I was wrapped up in this story after the first few pages because Linsey Hall writes in such a style that you can literally become the character you're reading. I liked the story and will probably continue to read Hall's work.

Felix and Aurora was reunited when she was assigned to close a powerful portal. But this portal wasn't just any portal. This portal was connected to their painful past. I couldn't stop reading. I fell in love with the characters instantly. These two damaged souls were perfect for each other. This was the first time I read something by Linsey Hall, and I know this won't be my last.

This is a book about love and loss that's tragic and yet this is a romance so of course this couple deserve a happy ending. We have met the Soulceress Aurora before but the reader knows full well that her powers are reviled by most of her fellow Mytheans and yes there is good cause. She lost control of her gifts and crossed the line but her sister never gave up on her . Now Aurora is trying to live a quiet life in Edinburgh but it seems her talents are very much needed and so she journeys to Iceland to help . Felix lost the female who called to his inner wolf and spent so many years trying to hunt her down. Taken prisoner by an evil seer he barely escaped with his life and now he lives with the consequences of his incarceration . Felix is unable to bare the simplest touch and now lives alone bedeviled by his memories. If Felix thought life could not get worse he was very much mistaken because back into his life comes the woman he believed dead, Aurora! Thrown together , adrift through time this couple are about to face the torment of a desire so hot it's incandescent ! This couple have both suffered so much but their journey is about to get even more dangerous as past and present collide . Yes this is part of a series but very easy to read as a standalone. I've loved each book and enjoy these larger than life characters. What really hooks me though are the astounding powers this author imbues her characters with. Magic and shifters are frequently a theme in paranormal romance but the characters in this series delight with truly inspired abilities. Definitely not run of the mill and I always care about each couple. That's possibly why these books work so well as each time I pick up a Mythean story I know I'm getting a unique adventure, fuelled by passion that will leave me smiling . I have enjoyed this series since book 1 and still am enjoying it. Each one seems to have an original story that is a lot more than just hooking two people up. The sex is sometimes a bit overdone IMHO but that is just a personal preference and not overdone to the point of really being distracting to the plot. Aurora and Felix were a good match for this story and the author probably saved herself some time by using an updated scene in Iceland from the last book we saw Aurora in which was a nice tie I have enjoyed this series since book 1 and still am enjoying it. The action was good, the writing was good (found 1 minor inconsistency close to the end, not a major thing) the story was great as always and when it was done I wanted more (always a sign of a good book). I am guessing Malcolm will be the subject of the next book, he looks to be an interesting character. Bottom Line: Great story, when all else is set aside I loved the story and that is why we read books. I want the next one already so I think we can say I REALLY enjoyed it. 4 Stars only because of a few slower parts and maybe a bit too much sex for my personal tastes, 5 Star story though.

So little needs to be said about this book !!.I mean just read the blurb peeps for god sake......how god damn awesome is that story line ?. Okay, okay I will grace you with my pearls of reviewing wisdom..... This is Fleix and Aurora's story..... Felix a werewolf half-blood, he and Aurora were on their way to becoming fated mates then s**t hit the fan and they were torn apart. Aurora is a feared witch who was well........for want of a better word a "soul kleptomaniac". Yup, great description there Donna. It's soooo not her fault though, its quite sad. this soul stealing/accumulating thing is a drive that she NEEDS to do. Aurora bless her is compelled to take soul's until her sister helps her out with that problem. After Aurora is freed from "soul overload" as I termed it. Aurora is just laying low in Edinburgh, getting on with her life, as she thinks Felix is dead, no-more, gone forever......depressing eh ?. Unfortunately Felix was actually being held prisoner that's the reason for his disappearance...... Felix too believes Aurora is lost forever. My poor Fleix, boy has he suffered. He was a prisoner, tortured for a VERY LONG time. one day his captors poof are gone, no more and Felix is free. As a result of his nasty experiences, he just carn't bare being touched. Felix I just thought was just so very lonely (in my opinion). Felix is heart broke over his loss of Aurora. Annnnnnd 300 years later she is back..........yay. Getting good No ?......continuing......well, Aurora ends up traipsing off to where Felix is to help and to prove her innocence as there is some major soul matters going on !. Aurora decided she needs to do some MAJOR investigating !!. Aurora is determined not to get thrown back into the "nothingness" (her own personal hell prison)......so off she trundles to Iceland (yes Aurora I felt your pain. I too hate the cold). Well waddaya know we have a HALLELUJAH moment between our two lovers when they meet up again !!. Que the Kleenex. These two broken souls just rocked it right back into loves ville !!!.....FANTASTIC !!!!.You've wasted enough time apart. Anyway, they are both now on the case trying to solve who is out to hurt them or frame Aurora (more like it). From start to finish this story had my FULL attention. I loved Felix and Aurora as leading characters and despite all of the crap they have suffered, their love story just made me feel all gooey, warm "n" fuzzy and smile BIG TIME. Not soppy at all !!! Would I recommend ? Oh YEAH that's a Defo fellow Mythean lovers ! Despite this being book 6 in the series, I was able to jump right into this Fabulous World. This books is a MUST for all paranormal romance lovers who want to read a gutsy, twist and turn, addictive read !! A Very Well Done Linsey !! Many thanks Netgalley for this opportunity. Later peeps xx

Ever since reading Soulceress I’ve been a fan of the series and Linsey Hall’s writing and Master of Fate has simply solidified that fact because I honestly had my doubts about how she could turn Aurora, who was a the ultimate evil bitch in Soulceress, into someone that I could empathize with and want to get her own HEA, but she proved me wrong (or right depending on how you look at it) and had me really liking and rooting for Aurora, and Felix, from beginning to end. As I’ve already stated, I end Ever since reading Soulceress I’ve been a fan of the series and Linsey Hall’s writing and Master of Fate has simply solidified that fact because I honestly had my doubts about how she could turn Aurora, who was a the ultimate evil bitch in Soulceress, into someone that I could empathize with and want to get her own HEA, but she proved me wrong (or right depending on how you look at it) and had me really liking and rooting for Aurora, and Felix, from beginning to end. As I’ve already stated, I ended up really liking Aurora from the very first page because she took responsibility for her actions and never tried to make excuses for the crazy, evil bitch she became. Instead she worked to understand the time she was now living in and worked damn hard to fight the urge to take souls on a daily basis. Through this process, and beyond, we get to see her not only as a badass woman who can hold her own, but just how big her heart is and the lengths she will go to in order to protect those she calls hers. What Felix went through was heartbreaking and all for the love of his mate. If that doesn’t make you go all gooey on the inside for the male, just seeing how kind and careful he is with Aurora and Mouse will do it. He’s this big, badass yet tortured Mythean who has a heart of gold, is extremely sexy and though his alpha male protective instincts go off quite a few times, he knows that the women around him, Aurora specifically, can take care of themselves. With this story we get a little bit of a friends to lovers scenario through flashbacks as well as a second chance at love for Felix and Aurora and I actually enjoyed seeing who they had once been because it showed what they could become once again, if they worked through their own personal demons while fighting the specter that was haunting them both. The entire process was sexy, sweet, fun and heartbreaking. I enjoyed sitting back and watching as all the plot twists and turns played out and then came together in the end as we find out who is behind all the chaos and why, and I have to say it was very well done. The flashbacks were woven very well into the story and only served to enhance, rather than detract, not only Felix and Aurora’s story, but the overall plot of the book. And while it was very nice to see Esha, Warren, Sylvi, Loki/Logan and Malcolm in the story, my favorite characters were Chairman Meow and Mouse ~ loved Mouse! The Bottom Line: Another fun, well crafted and sexy addition to the series. ~ Review copy provided by Bonnie Doon Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review ~

Paranormal romance lovers who enjoy angst and torture, this book is for you. This is the sixth book in The Mythean Arcana series. Full disclosure, I did not read the first five books in this series. Whilst I cannot endorse this book to be a standalone, I can state that it was easy for me to figure out what was going on and get into the story. Aurora is a witch who the majority of supernatural world loathes. She is a witch who subsists on other supernatural's life force. After the brutal killing of her mother and the disappearance of her lover, she went on an epic killing spree. It is impressive how dark Aurora went. This is all explained quickly as the story starts with Aurora free from her prison cell and working to redeem herself. I liked Aurora. She reminds me of Dark Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Dark Willow is hawt and more interesting than good Willow. Aurora does have a bit of a dark side and it helps her keep everyone on their toes. Felix, her long ago lover is a character I liked too. These two lovers are not exactly star-crossed. They are torn apart and kept away by dark forces they did not fully understand. This is where the story becomes intriguing. This is a plot driven story and it is well done. The pace is good as it bounces back and forth through time. The transitions between time periods is smooth and easy to follow. The reveals of past history helps explain and resolve the conflicts. Ms. Hall does a good job of setting each new clue up to lead to the next reveal. Whilst this story is not exactly predictable, I would say that it contains no surprises. I say this because Ms. Hall continuously foreshadows the answers well in advance so the reader is not blindsided. This works out well because the story unfolds layer by layer in an easy to follow manner. Readers are led to the big confrontation with an expected resolution. Readers will be satisfied with the loose ends tied up at the end. This paranormal romance is recommended to readers who enjoy second chance themes. *provided by NetGalley

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I always love a good second chance romance. Most of the time, I get that kind of story in contemporary romance. However, it's also great to read that trope in paranormal romance novels. That seems to be the arc for Master Of Fate. The main characters were in love a long, long time ago until circumstances tore them apart. They both endured their individual pain and suffering as a result of that separa I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I like that both characters didn't dick around on their feelings. They both had experiences that changed them and made them into different people from who they once were. However, beneath all that, it was obvious right away that they still loved each other. Now, it's just a race against time in figuring out who was trying to hurt them. Also, their journey now included being able to heal each other. This isn't my first Linsey Hall book, and I have to say that I truly enjoy this series. I don't have a long list of PNR authors that I know I can depend on, and she is on that list. The last time I reviewed a book from this series, I resolved to read this series from the beginning. Now, I resolve to look out for more books from this series. It's just a good PNR story that's fresh and really easy to get into.

Drama, heartbreak and enduring love. Aurora is a soulceress who was trapped in a aether prison for 300 years. Felix is 1/2 Wulver and 1/2 time walker. They met during the witch burning years when Aurora and her mother were on the run. They fell in love but were separated by fate. This book was amazing as Aurora and Felix meet again under dire circumstances and work together to unravel a mystery portal and find their way back to each other.

This was probably my favorite of the series so far. I like Aurora a lot and Felix is so damaged, but sweet. There are a few passages that I found redundant or unnecessary, but for the most part I really enjoyed this one. I will say this author does have a formula when it comes to the romances and the steamy parts, so much so that I can pretty much predict exactly what is going to happen. Their story is both heart-breaking and wonderful all at the same time. I think one of the main things I enjoy about this series is how with each character we meet, not only do you find out more about who they are now, but you also learn who they were, be it good, bad or just plain scary. It’s like meeting someone, and ripping them open and finding out everything, and once done, you close them back up, and breathe in the beauty of what they become. I loved this book, and all the emotions that reading it brought on me. Another fabulous story and I cannot wait to read the next book and the one after that and so on in this wonderful series. I really don’t think I can ever get enough of the Mythian Arcana series and characters. Opening Scene: Immortal University Edinburgh, Scotland Present Day Aurora shop upright in bed. The Review: Felix, a werewolf half-blood, has loved Aurora for centuries. Three hundred years ago he lost her. He endured immense torture and unbelievable pain while trying to protect her. He failed. Haunted by his torture, he’s unable to stand the touch of another. Broken by the memories, he’s lived alone wondering what happened to Aurora and if she’s even alive. A year ago, Aurora escaped the prison she was locked in for the past three hundred years. Despised by almost everyone, she now must team up with Felix, her old love and a man she still wants. Together they must fight a greater evil than she could ever imagine. Their love for one another has survived centuries, but will the broken pieces of themselves and the threat they must fight keep them apart forever. Can these two broken immortals save each other from the demons of their past, or are they destined to forever be apart? Notable Scene: He reached for a spoon and she caught sight of his arm up close. The flannel was rolled back from his forearm. Muscles moved under skin. But not just any skin. His arms were tattooed with a winding design. She squinted. Thorns. They were vines with thorns, all drawn in exquisite detail. Beautiful but strange. Mouse stood on the counter, staring up at his face as he poured coffee into a mug. The rich smell wrapped around Aurora. “Coffee?” he asked without turning. His deep voice made her shiver. She shook her head. Get in the game, idiot. Mouse turned to stare hard at her, then back at the man’s face. Aurora’s insides tightened. She really was not handling this well. “Sure,” she said, desperate for him to turn around so she could see what he looked like. He filled another mug, then turned to her and held it out. She felt as though something hit her hard in the chest. Shite. It was Felix. Her Felix. Suddenly she didn’t want coffee anymore. She didn’t know what she wanted. Words that normally came so quickly to her-flippant, easy words-died in her mouth. His eyes were grim as they took her in. No wonder she hadn’t recognized him. Life had changed him. Not only was he far taller, his face was older. Harsher. FTC Advisory: Linsey Hall provided me with a copy of Master of Fate by Linsey Hall. Kindle Edition. Published through Bonnie Doon Press. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

I won't get into the story of how she got from there to here but it was fun AND frustrating! Even though she wasn't always good, I really got to love Aurora. She's a great mix of bad ass and sort of lost woman, looking for something to give her life meaning. That sounds really dramatic but I feel like it's true. She's had a rough past and now that things have calmed down, she has to kind of deal with that past and how its changed her and who she's going to be now and what does she want to do and all kinds of things. So I really loved going through this time with her. It gave me a better understanding of her and it helped me to love her character. Felix was a tough nut to crack. He doesn't say much but he's the kind of guy that doesn't have to, if you know what I mean! LOL! He's this huge, strapping dude who lives a very solitary life and he's totally fine with it. I know you know what kind of guy I'm talking about! It was so hard to learn about Felix's past. Sheesh, that dude has been through it in a big way! He torture at the hands of another was painful to read about and it shows what a tough dude he is that he survived it. But like with so many fictional characters and even real life people, his trauma has left it's scars, both mentally and physically. It's obviously the reason he lives his solitary life. He doesn't like being around people and can't really stand being touched. I really felt for him and was rooting for Aurora to get through to him. Aurora and Felix have a past and it was fun to see it through each of their eyes. In the real world, they may not be good for each other because they both have terrible things that have happened to them in the past. But here in the fictional world, it makes them perfectly paired. As they move through the story, they sort of start fixing each other without knowing it. As with all the books in this series, there was a good amount of Sexy Time and it was plenty hot! I think that this book CAN be read as a stand-alone novel. BUT. It would be better if readers could experience Aurora from the start. I think that she was originally introduced in Book 2 of this series in Soulceress. I know, it's a big commitment. But this series is pretty great and I think readers might enjoy it just because it's damn good. Master of Fate is actually Book 6 in this series and I really hope it's not the last. These books are a lot of fun and the characters are very memorable. Master of Fate has a great mix of interesting, complex characters, a little humor, some pretty steamy Sexy Time, immortal hotties and even a bit of time travel. You've got to check out this book, this series, and this author. It's not to be missed!

The Immortal University thought Aurora had made and she was in danger to be sent to the Aether prison again. Aurora’s fears raised. She had been insane when she made the portal and now it was bouncing back to her. The only solution was to fix it and she has to do it immediately. But nothing had prepared her for what was next. The one to help her in her task was Felix, her Felix. He was a Wulver and a time walker and she had loved him before she was evil. But Felix had his secrets too. He had been tortured by a Seer because he didn’t revealed Aurora whereabouts and his demons don’t let him stand to touch or be touched by somebody. He had thought that all these years Aurora had been dead because he didn’t found her and was happy surprised and scare at the same time. He knew she was his mate but the thought that he could not touch her was killing him. His feelings for her were stronger that before and he knew she wanted him. Difficult situation for both of them because when they were together the magic and desire consumed both of them. Doing their best with the passion and fear for both their secrets they went together to Iceland and the soulceress city. But it wasn’t as easy as she thought. There was another powerful presence there and it seemed that they were not enough to deal with them problem. This is another very interesting book in the Mythean series. The author entwined the characters and develops a story that have continuity, action, intrigue, steamy sex (can’t leave this out) and a lot of suspense. Liked the scenes where we knew how Aurora and Felix met and how was their relationship. With this scenes we can understand better the sacrifices they both did. I was emotional in those parts. Felix and Aurora despair was strong and I was caught in the action. Almost, almost peeked further to see what was going to happen but thank God I hold on. Liked to guess which ones are the main characters in the next book and I think that the brother and the owner of the dagger had something to do. I enjoy these books so much. Received the Arc for an honest Review.

I love it when I can find a great paranormal story that keeps my attention from start to finish. When I started to read Aurora and Felix’s story, I was captivated and couldn’t put it down. Aurora is finally free from her entrapment from the last 300 years. She’s still got the urges that caused her entrapment, but she’s trying her hardest to push them back. She’s determined to become the person she was before things took a downward spiral. So when she’s sent to try to close a portal she may have opened when she was still a little crazy, she’s shocked to see who she’s to partner up with. Felix has been looking for Aurora for the last 300 years, he’s just recently given up hope and wondered if she’s even still alive, but when he sees her for the first time, he’s tormented with the fact that, as much as he wants to touch her and make her his again, he can’t because of the pain and torture he endured years ago. Years ago he was captured and suffered all kinds of torture for information on Aurora. He did everything he could to protect his one true love, but because of that, he can’t stand the touch of another. While they are on the hunt of the cause of the open portal, Felix and Aurora start to find out what’s happened to them in the last 300 years. Will they be able to heal each other’s pain and take down the threat that been hunting Aurora all these years. Or will the dangers that they have to face rip these two a part before they even have a chance to be with each other? What an amazing story about a second chance at love. This is the first book I’ve read from Linsey Hall, and if this is any indication on what her other stories are like, I’m definitely going to be checking out others by her. If you’re looking for a story that keeps you on your toes, but also leaves you feeling hot in all the right places, this is the book for you! **ARC was provided through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Only Aurora knows the truth, that she fights hard against the temptation to take a soul to make her feel complete. When something goes wrong in the soulceress city, Aurora will have to prove it wasn't done on purpose, or she'll be thrown back into the aether prison. After spending 300 years in nothingness, Aurora is not going back. Off to Iceland she goes, despite her hatred of the cold, and meets up with Felix, a long lost love from a more innocent time. Felix is a half-breed wulver/timewalker, who alerted the University to the problem; a tortured soul in his own right. Surprises abound on their adventure...and it is indeed quite an adventure, fueled by the unexpected. Neither are the people they used to be, but have to come to terms with the people they are now. Not an easy road for either of them and indeed, made more difficult by the evil stalking them. Will both Aurora and Felix have any sanity left in the end? Another exciting story in the Mythean Academy series, one of my favorite series. Linsey Hall always produces a fluid, fast-paced exciting adventure for me to escape into. Loved it, bring on the next! The author has taken the time to create a very detailed world where Mytheans do their very best to remain undetected by the mortal world. I found the different beings to be really interesting, and unlike anything mainstream I've read in awhile. I loved that the Scottish Witch Hunts tied in to Aurora's history, and found myself wanting to know more about that period of history (something that's never happened before while reading a "paranormal"). Despite the suffering that Felix and Aurora endured, their characters really came across as strong, determined survivors. I LOVED that the hero and heroine rescued each other at various points in the story! A great plot, fantastic world building, and engaging characters (yes, I even really enjoyed The Seer) put this book very near the top of my paranormal reads for the year. Now that I've read this book, I'm anxious to read the rest of the series! **I was provided a Kindle version of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a well-planned tightly written novel that kept plenty of secrets till then end. I loved the world I was taken to and the people living in it. I look forward to reading the next in the series and wonder if perhaps Malcom will have his story told eventually. The author’s notes at the end of the book were filled with historical trivia that was also fun to read. AND…I kind of wonder if the familiars of the sisters Aurora and Esha will ever become best friends. Thank you to the author for the copy of this book to read and review. 4.5 Stars
