The darkness kept on going, Astrid & Erik make an interesting couple of lead characters to read, some of the pack mates seem to have an ulterior motive (not that Viola has let us see just what that motive is). It may just be me, I do FLOVE dark reads, but I don't think I could get enough or stop reading this, I can't wait for part three of this.

In part 2 of this crazy and different story Erik is starting to feel things alien to him and very disturbing, he feels that as long as his wolf feels bonded to the human, he won't have complete control. Will he be able to accept this? Astrid finally starts to get some control of her fear of Erik and tells Erik something that will most likely change the rescue of her sister. Can't wait for the next part of this story. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Viola Rivard has knocked it out of the park - again. Enslaved by the Alpha is the first release of the new multi-installment serial in her captivating new series, Shifters of Nunavut and folks, it's a real firecracker! The story is exciting, edgy, thrilling, imaginative, arousing, romantic and seductive. Oh, and did I mention hot? Oh yes, it's definitely hot! The narrative is exceptionally well written in the third person with alternating his and her points of view. The dialogue is well executed and flows effortlessly. And the characters... well, they're always the best part of Viola's stories. Don't get me wrong, Viola's books are always fast paced, well crafted, well developed and well edited and truly, a pleasure to read but it's her characters that I fall in love with every single time. Her characters are always unique, captivating, engaging and endearing but she creates, hands down, the best, grumpy, growly, quite possibly irredeemable and certainly the most arrogant male antiheroes of anyone I know. You know, the kind we love to hate but secretly love.and of course, are always devilishly handsome.(Swoon....) And the male protagonist in this story is no exception. Viola skillfully combines all of these elements to craft a delightfully entertaining paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-pounding danger, heartbreaking drama, heart-stopping action, spine-tingling adventure and let's not forget, steamy, dreamy romance. When I read a Viola Rivard story, I'm always reminded of the Carly Simon song, Nobody Does It Better. The words replay in my mind: Nobody does it better, Makes me feel sad for the rest, Nobody does it half as good as you, Baby you're the best. And Viola definitely is the best! Buckle up my lovelies! It's another wild ride! And this time, we travel to the tundra of the Arctic for our story. Twenty-eight year old Astrid Castello is very much out of her element. As a native Floridian, the climate of the Artic tundra definitely does not agree with her and it's all her younger sister Ginnifer's fault. Months ago, her sister traveled to the Arctic to film a documentary on the way of life of werewolf packs living in the area and after finishing her film, she returned to the Siluit Pack and Zane, their alpha, is holding her prisoner. If her sister isn't already dead and Astrid can somehow manage to rescue her, then she's going to kill her for this. She doesn't even really like her sister but here she is, neck deep in trouble in the Artic, trying to rescue her sister for her parents' sake. Yes, it's for them because she doesn't want to tell them that their favored daughter has traveled back to Nunuvat to live with the Siluit werewolf pack. And it has cost her everything including all her money! Well, technically the twelve thousand dollars she paid for her guides was actually Ginnifer's money since she withdrew(stole) it from Ginnifer's bank account but she wouldn't have had to do it if Ginnifer had stayed at home instead of traipsing all over the globe as a freelance documentary filmmaker. And now, she finds herself in the middle of nowhere with a group of men who started out as her very kind guides but had now turned into a group of opportunists who were only interested in poaching the furs of werewolves and probably murdering her. Her plan was to travel to the location of the Amarok Pack and try to make a deal with their Alpha, Erik, to enlist his help in recovering her sister from the rival Siluit Pack where her sister is being held. Unfortunately, her meeting with the Amarok Pack did not go as planned. She has seriously underestimated the sheer and savagery of the werewolves because the wolves of the Amarok pack have just slaughtered all of her very questionable guides, leaving only her alive. Oh my! Erik is a handsome, arrogant, ruthless and very selfish wolf who is determined to have things his way and unfortunately, there's only one deal the Alpha is willing to accept - her. Huh? Oh yes, Erik demands that she give herself willingly to him in exchange for him helping to rescue her sister. Oh my goodness! What's a girl to do? Why, make a deal, of course! Sadly, Astrid soon realizes that she has truly sacrificed everything to rescue her sister from the clutches of a demon and in the process, has ended up selling her own soul to the devil. Oh my! Will Astrid somehow manage to save her sister and herself or will she be Erik's new plaything until he grows tired of her and gives her to another wolf??? Book Two: The story continues with Astrid struggling to find her place in the pack while learning exactly what being owned by Erik entails. At the same time, Erik is desperately struggling to control his wolf, something he has never had a problem with before. Apparently his beast believes that Astrid is his mate and is determined to have her and only her.Oh my! Will Erik be able to maintain his control or will he lose the battle to his wolf??? Will Astrid be able to convince Erik to rescue her sister from the Siluit Pack??? No spoilers from me but I will say this......Arrogant, ruthless, dominant Alpha wolf who takes what he wants regardless of the consequences and may just be irredeemable-check! Curvaceous, naive heroine who is on a mission to save her sister and may just talk the alpha wolf to death-check! A sister who is 'supposedly' being held captive by a rival werewolf pack-check! A cast of wonderful characters-check! Danger, drama, action, adventure and enemies galore-check! Unconventional romance and steamy sex-check! That and a whole lot more! I can hardly wait for Book Three! Seriously sexy, completely captivating and delightfully entertaining!

Have I mentioned how much I love Erik? He's taciturn, brutish and unapologetic about it. I would not want him for a boyfriend or a partner, I think he would drive me bananas, but I do love reading about him. He's such an alphahole, he gives me lovely tingles. :-) I am also enjoying his obsession with Astrid. There's an internal battle going on about it and I'd love to see more of it come to the forefront. We learn a little more about Astrid in this installment and I am liking what I learn. She's making the best of a difficult situation which she's found herself in without falling into a sobbing mess and that's admirable. I don't know if I'd be as brave or hold up as well. One thing which stood out to me in this installment too is the wolf shifter politics which Ms Rivard hard built into the story. I find it fascinating. Survival, instinct, manipulation, and all the who you can talk to, can't talk to, should talk to, shouldn't talk to. Wondering who you can trust, if you can trust. I admire the way Astrid is feeling her way around it all while trying to survive. This is probably my favorite of all the series I've read by Ms Rivard, with The Dragon's Appraiser coming a close second. I love it because of Erik. He really carries the story for me. Can't wait for Part Three. See more from Deanna's World

That was how she finds out he is a very, very sound sleeper. She said she wanted a bath and was hungry, she wanted her bag and her sister back (he said in a year) the only thing he agreed to was,"I'll feed you, get dressed". He has bitten her but she doesn't know that is claimed. I really like Sabine , she get her point in to Erik, Astrid also met Ila when Sabine found out Ila had her bag.So for we don't know much about her-she has a room with real furniture, shelved, good lights and that's about it.When Astrid leaves Ila she gets lost in the den, later a young male finds her and leads her back to Erik's room (not her room, she doesn't know that no one but Sten (Erik's brother is allowed in his room). Where later Erik finds her asleep. later she finally gets her bath. And admits to herself something she had always know, she would never leave there, help would never come, Erik would never let her leave.I will be glad when the next part comes out.

This second part moved very fast and was a quick read. I was eager to see how Erik responds to Astrid. Their meetings are very intense and it is hard for Astrid to know how to handle him. She is beginning to believe she will not get out this life and tries to make friends. She thinks Erik will be done with her soon and in some ways wants that to happen so she can move on from the intensity of her feelings for him. Erik is conflicted. I love Viola Rivard´s shifter stories. They are captivating, exciting and always very hot! This episode, I felt, was though a bit on the short side. Erik is a brute of a wolf and entirely alpha male with his word as law. Astrid, is a human female who challenges Erik at his primal core. The combination of the two makes for an intriguing and intense storyline. I gave this two stars because it ended before anything happened. I hate this approach - selling short pieces spanning several "books." Just sell the story in one book for what all these teasers cost. It is frustrating. This book was almost boring because of it. I gave this two stars because it ended before anything happened.
